Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a carding segment with dirt separator, which carding segment has at least one rod-shaped holder for receiving the sawtooth strips forming the scraper fitting, at least one holder being detachably and adjustably arranged in a frame.
  • Dirt separators are used in cards to wipe off dirt particles, shells, shell nits etc. from the cotton fibers in order to separate the impurities before the subsequent spinning process.
  • a dirt separator is disclosed, for example, in FR-A-2 242 492.
  • the stripping is carried out mechanically, with the stripping member being followed by a suction device by means of which the separated particles are removed.
  • Knives made of wear-resistant, hardened steel are used for stripping, the distance of the respective knife edge from the tips of the drum sets being extremely small, for example 0.05 to 0.1 mm. This requires an exact adjustment of the position of the doctor blades.
  • the angle which is formed between a plane determined by the knife and a tangent plane which runs through the intersection line between the first-mentioned plane and the envelope surface of the drum is approximately 45 °.
  • the dirt separator is formed by a separate device, requires corresponding space along the spool and correspondingly expensive adjustment work when assembling, maintaining or replacing worn parts.
  • a carding segment with a dirt separator in which the frame has a knife support section on which a knife for dirt separation is arranged in a positionally adjustable manner, which extends into a dirt suction space connected to the frame and whose cutting edge is arranged at the end on the drum side.
  • the knife support section has a number of projections containing knife support surfaces and a number of threaded holes, the angular position of the knife relative to a respective drum being selectable by base plates placed on knife support surfaces, the knife having elongated holes and these Cap screws penetrating elongated holes and screwed into the threaded holes are connected to the knife support section, which elongated holes enable the distance between the cutting edge and a respective drum to be adjusted.
  • the knife is mounted on the knife support section via sliding joints containing elongated holes and is connected to the knife support section by means of screw bolts screwed into the knife support section and running through further elongated holes formed in the knife, each screw bolt being adjusted relative to a respective spool for adjusting the angular position of the knife is equipped with at least one nut, and which elongated holes of the sliding joints are aligned with the elongated holes in the knife in such a way that it is possible to adjust the distance of the cutting edge from a respective drum.
  • reference numeral 1 denotes a rod-shaped holder, which is known in the art Way over clips 20 carries the sawtooth strips 2 forming the scraper fitting.
  • a respective holder 1 is adjustably connected by means of cap screws 21 to a frame 3 common to the holders 1.
  • the frame 3 is closed at the top by a head plate 22 which is screwed onto the frame 3 by means of cap screws 23.
  • the frame 3 is now designed in such a way that it has a knife support section 4, on which the knife 5 serves to scrape off the impurities in the processed fibers.
  • the respective drum moving relative to this carding segment for example a revolving card, rotates at a speed of several 100 RPM.
  • the knife 5 extends in a dirt suction space 6, which is basically a suction pipe and is subjected to a suction for transporting away the stripped dirt.
  • the knife 5 has a cutting edge 7, the distance from the tooth tips of the clothing wound on the drum is approximately 0.05 to 0.1 mm.
  • the frame 3 has a number of projections 9 in the knife support section 4.
  • the knife 5 is placed on these projections.
  • underlay plates 11 are used. Depending on requirements, these are placed on one or more of the knife support surfaces 8 of the projections 9, so that the described angle of the knife 5 to the drum 24 can be set extremely simply and quickly.
  • the knife 5 is connected via head screws 13 to the knife support section 4, this knife support section 4 containing corresponding threaded holes 10.
  • the knife 5 is equipped with slots 12, so that it The spool can be moved towards and away from it, so that the distance of the knife edge 7 from the tooth tips of the set of the spool can be set very precisely and easily.
  • the dirt extraction space 6 is tubular and lies with a wall section sealingly against the head plate 22, which closes off the frame 3 at the top.
  • the dirt suction chamber 6 also engages behind the knife 5 with a wall end section 31.
  • a further wall end section 32 of the dirt suction chamber 6 rests on a drum cover plate 33 which ends just before the knife 5. The flow path of the air drawn off with the impurities is thus precisely defined, a space-saving construction being achieved.
  • FIG. 2 in which a further embodiment is shown.
  • the carding segment is identical to that of FIG. 1, with the exception that the knife support section 4 has a different shape.
  • the knife 5 has pivot pins 26 which protrude into elongated holes 14 in projections 27 of the frame 3, so that a sliding joint 15 is formed.
  • the knife 5 can thus be pivoted on the one hand with the pin 26 in the elongated holes 14 and on the other hand moved towards and away from the drum.
  • the knife 4 is penetrated by screw bolts 16, which are each screwed into a threaded hole 28 in the frame 3. This, or these bolts 16 run through a further elongated hole 17 in the knife 5.
  • the respective further elongated holes 17 are with the elongated holes 14 at lower portion of the frame 3 aligned such that the aforementioned sliding movement of the knife 5 is made possible.
  • the screw bolt 16 can be designed as a micro adjusting screw, with the reference numbers 29 and 30 indicating disks or plates, by means of which the knife 5 is supported on the screw bolt 16, bridging a respective elongated hole 17. According to a further possible embodiment, the respective screw bolt 16 is firmly screwed into the knife support section 4, the parts designated by the reference numbers 29 and 39 forming nuts, or adjusting nuts and locknuts.
  • the angular position of the knife 5 relative to the drum can be adjusted, with a pivoting movement of the knife 5 being carried out about the respective pins 26.
  • the wearing parts i.e. on the one hand the sets and on the other hand the knife can be resharpened and / or replaced on the spot. Since the spatial distance of the knife 5 from the sawtooth strips 2 which form the scraper fitting is very small due to the combination of carding segment and dirt separator described, a highly precise setting can be carried out up to distances of 2/1000 mm of the knife and the sets, whereby a mutual Coordination of the work elements can be carried out, although a separate setting is still possible.
  • the main carrier for both the carding segment and the dirt separator can be built extremely stably as a stiff machine part with a large mass.
  • High-strength (highly rigid) extruded aluminum profiles are used as frame 3 and holder 1. It is now also possible to replace the entire unit, consisting of trimmings, knives, dirt extraction chamber 6, etc. at once. Wear parts can also be replaced, for example the knife 5, without the non-replaced parts Parts (in this case the scraper fittings) have to be readjusted.
  • the compact design also allows inexpensive changing and also checking of the individual wearing parts.
  • cavities 18 in the segments can also be connected to the dirt extraction space 6.
  • cavities 18 in the segments can also be connected to the dirt extraction space 6.
  • a separate cover plate 22 is fastened on the frame 3 by means of the cap screw 23.
  • this cover plate 22 it is also possible to form this cover plate 22 in one piece with the wall of the tubular dirt extraction space 6, or to create a firm connection between these two components.
