  • the rapier 72 begins to retract further the weft yarn 100 between the rapier and the weave is pulled taught across the knife blade 107 and is cut thereby. In addition as the rapier 72 begins to retract the reed 90 is also retracted toward its rearward position.
  • the reed 90 When the rapier 72 is near to emergence from the rapier insertion side of the weave, the reed 90 beings to advance. As the rapier 72 emerges the upper portion of the spring wire 110 engages a cam block 120 mounted on the reed 90 which causes the lower portion of the spring wire to move away from the body of the rapier and thereby release the weft yarn. As the rapier 72 continues to retract the reed 90 advances to beat-up.
  • a pair of cutters 130 are provided for trimming the edges of the weave.
  • the cutters 130 are mounted on a fabric guide bar 132 and include a static blade 133 and a movable blade 134 which is biased to an open position and closed by a roller 135 being engaged by the reed 90 when it is moved to its beat-up position.
  • the weft yarn selection mechanism 50 preferably comprises a series of laterally spaced rods 200 inter-connected to form a continuous belt.
  • the belt is supported on a roller 202.
  • the pawl 47 is arranged to successively engage each rod 200 so that during each weaving cycle the belt is advanced by one rod spacing.
  • Each rod 200 carries a cam wheel 205 which, dependent upon its axial position along its associated rod engages with a weft yarn guide arm 210 (only one of which is shown for clarity).
  • a guide arm 210 When a guide arm 210 is engaged by a cam wheel 205 it is raised to an upper feed position whereat it presents weft yarn to the rapier 70.
  • each guide arm 210 is located at a lower stowed position whereat weft yarn guided thereby is not presented to the rapier 70.
  • the main drive shaft 25 is rotatably driven in the embodiment illustrated by means of a manually operated drive means 180 in the form of a continuous chain 181 entrained about a sprocket wheel 182 mounted on the drive shaft 25 and a drive sprocket wheel 183 rotatably mounted on a frame 185.
  • the drive sprocket wheel 183 is rotated by means of a pedal crank assembly 175.
  • the frame 185 preferably extends upwardly to support a seat (not shown) for an operative.

Claims (15)

  1. Webstuhl, umfassend ein an einem Blattschaft (40) montiertes Blatt (90), ein(e) flexible(s) Klinge bzw. Rapier (rapier) (72), die bzw. das hin- und hergehend Einführ- und Zurückziehhübe durch ein Kett(faden)fach durchführt, welches Rapier einen Rapierkopf zum Erfassen eines Schußfadens (100) und zum ziehen des Schußfadens durch das Kettfach aufweist, sowie eine antriebsmäßig mit dem Blattschaft (40) verbundene Antriebseinrichtung (28, 61 - 64, 67, 69) zum Schwingenlassen des Blatts gleichzeitig mit den Einführ- und zurückziehhüben des Rapiers (72), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Antriebseinrichtung während des Einführhubs des Rapiers (72) das Blatt (90) aus einer vorderen Anschlagstellung zu einer voll zurückgezogenen Stellung (61a) bewegt und dann zu einer mittleren vorderen Stellung (61b) vorbewegt, wenn sich das Rapier (72) in seiner voll eingeführten Stellung befindet, um das Rapier in Richtung auf den Warenschluß (fell) zu drängen, und daß die Antriebseinrichtung während des Zurückziehhubs des Rapiers (72) das Blatt aus der mittleren vorderen Stellung (61b) in die voll zurückgezogene Stellung (61a) und dann aus der voll zurückgezogenen Stellung zur vorderen Anschlagstellung bewegt.
  2. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Antriebseinrichtung einen an einer Antriebswelle (64) montierten Antriebshebel (63), der eine schwingende Drehung ausführt, einen vom Blattschaft abstehenden Arm (61) und eine den Arm und den Antriebshebel antriebsmäßig verbindende Schubstange (62) aufweist, so daß die schwingende Drehung der Welle die Bewegung des Blattschafts herbeiführt.
  3. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 2, wobei der Rapierkopf an einem flexiblen Streifen- bzw. Bandelelement (73) montiert oder angebracht ist.
  4. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 3, wobei das flexible Bandelement (73) durch ein Antriebsrad (76), das am Blattschaft an einer axial vom Blatt beabstandeten Stelle montiert ist, in Längsrichtung gezogen wird, (und) ein am Blattschaft montiertes erstes Führungselement (93) zum Führen des flexiblen Bands zwischen dem Antriebsrad und dem Blatt vorgesehen ist.
  5. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 4, wobei das flexible Bandelement (73) durch ein am Blattschaft montiertes zweites Führungselement (99) unter dem Kettfach geführt ist.
  6. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 4 oder 5, wobei das Antriebsrad und der Blattschaft durch eine gemeinsame Antriebsübertragung (28, 61 - 64, 67, 69) synchron miteinander angetrieben werden.
  7. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 6, wobei die gemeinsame Antriebsübertragung einen Winkelhebel (67) mit einem Arm (67a), der mit einer rotierenden Hauptantriebswelle (25) verbunden ist, um durch diese in Schwingung versetzt zu werden, aufweist, der andere Arm (67b) des Winkelhebels antriebsmäßig mit dem Antriebsrad verbunden ist, um dessen schwingende Drehung herbeizuführen, (und) der Winkelhebel an der Antriebswelle (64) montiert ist, um deren schwingende Drehung herbeizuführen.
  8. Webstuhl nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei der Rapierkopf einen Rapierkörper aufweist, der eine Schlaufe aus Federdraht (110) zum Verklingen (latching) von Schußfaden trägt, (und) die Schußfadenführungseinrichtung (101) wirksam ist, um den Schußfaden vor dem Zurückziehen des Rapiers um den Rapierkörper zu drängen und sein Einziehen in das Fach zu veranlassen.
  9. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 8, wobei ein(e) Schloß oder Kurve (120) in der Bahn des Rapiers am Blatt montiert ist, um an der Schlaufe aus Federdraht anzugreifen und das Freigeben des Schußfadens während des Zurückziehhubs des Rapiers zu veranlassen.
  10. Webstuhl nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, umfassend eine sich in der Richtung des Schuß(faden)einzugs über die Breite des Webstuhls erstreckende Hauptantriebswelle (25), die am einen Ende ein in Antriebsverbindung mit dem Blattschaft stehendes Schwungrad (28) aufweist.
  11. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 10, wobei der Webstuhl eine Anzahl von Litzenrahmen (30) aufweist und die Hauptantriebswelle (25) über eine Musterwähleinrichtung (26) antriebsmäßig mit den Litzenrahmen verbunden ist.
  12. Webstuhl nach Anspruch 11, wobei die Musterwähleinrichtung (26) eine Anzahl von Kurven oder Nocken (26) aufweist, die eine Anzahl von zum Heben und Senken der Litzenrahmen (30) angeordneten Hebeln (26a) betätigen, welche Kurven oder Nocken durch die Hauptantriebswelle für Drehung angetrieben werden.
  13. Webstuhl nach einem der Ansprüche 10 bis 12, wobei manuell betätigte Antriebsmittel (180) zum Drehen der Hauptantriebswelle vorgesehen sind.
  14. Webstuhl nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei keine in das Kettfach vorstehenden oder hineinragenden Führungsmittel zum Führen des Rapiers während seiner Einführ- und Zurückziehhübe vorgesehen sind.
  15. Webstuhl nach einem der vorangehenden Ansprüche, wobei das Blatt mit dem Kettfach einen Tunnel festzulegen vermag, so daß das Rapier während der Ausführung seiner Einführ- und Zurückziehhübe vollständig durch den Tunnel geführt werden kann.
