- the device for feeding the weft threads consists of needles through the eyes of which pass the different weft threads coming from bobbins, said needles being driven in an alternating "up and down” movement. "Controlled by a selection mechanism making it possible to successively present said weft threads with a lance which inserts them into the crowd of warp threads in the order provided for making the fabric.
- this device does not include more than eight needles which allows only eight weft colors to be inserted so that, if more colors are desired, two devices must be paired side by side. This results in many delicate adjustments to the grips of the wires by the lance, the appreciable increase in its strokes and a higher rate of "breakage".
- These devices are characterized by the fact that the needles are arranged in a fan shape, perpendicular to the weft, so that, when they are operated radially, their ends converge towards a single point so that the weft threads which they successively entrain are are presented in the same place with respect to the initial position of the lance.

- the present invention provides another device which consists in motorizing each weft feed needle, so as to give it complete independence from the other needles.
- an electric motor of the stepping type, is assigned to each needle. It drives the rotation of an eccentric which actuates a link coupled to a bar, one end of which is trapped in a fixed point and the other end of which is made integral with the needle to be operated. This results in the oscillation of the bar and the linear reciprocating movement of the needle.
- the needles are arranged in a fan shape and each guided in slides provided in a circular arc box fixed to the loom by adjustable means.
- the electric motors are fixed on two facing plates secured to the support and arranged in an arc of a circle and staggered in two rows per plate so as to accommodate between them the eccentrics and the rods which penetrate into the housing and are mate to the oscillating bars driving the needles.
- the electric motors are supplied individually by electronic means with computerized control managed by the traditional reading selection mechanism, or by any other known system.
- the reference 1 designates the box in the form of an arc of a circle, hollowed out by a cavity 2 which opens laterally at 3 and above at 4.

- the rear face of the housing 1 is equipped with sixteen rings 21 arranged in an arc of a circle and whose internal bore is bevelled to retain the free end of the bars 17 and allow a slight sliding there, as shown in FIG. 1.
- the other end of the bars 17 is coupled to the needles 7 by means of a pin 22 made integral with the needle which it couples with a lateral locking screw.
- connection plate 19 is fixed to the supports in an arc of a circle 5 and 6 by means of an adjustable articulation 20. This plate 19 makes it possible to adapt the device for feeding the weft threads to the loom, as illustrated in FIG. 2.

- the eccentric 12,14 drives the rod 15 in a back and forth movement which causes the oscillation of the prison bar 17, by one of its ends, of the 'corresponding ring 21, said bar causing the linear reciprocating movement of "up and down" of the needle 7 chosen and, therefore, of the weft thread that it retains.
- each needle 7 moves to the common point 0 which is the center of convergence of the sixteen needles.
- the sixteen weft threads are successively presented in the same place, which results in only one adjustment and a reduced stroke of the lance which carries them individually into the crowd.
