Definitions
- the invention relates to a printhead for a matrix printer, e.g. B. dot matrix printer, with a switching head arranged rotatably in the end region, which has a guide block for holding approximately perpendicular to the printing direction printing needles.
- a matrix printer e.g. B. dot matrix printer
- B. become known from DE-OS 24 59 254.
- the known print head is mounted on a carriage and can be moved in the printing direction.
- the rotation of the switching head attached to the end face of the print head takes place via an electromagnet which interacts with a return spring, the armature of which acts on the switching head from the outside.
- the guide block fixedly mounted in the switch head contains a row (column) of pressure needles arranged one above the other.
- the return spring holds the switch head in a first outermost position in which the row of printing needles is perpendicular to the direction of movement. Vertical characters can be written or printed in this position.
- the switch head When the magnet is excited, the switch head is turned to a second outermost position, in which the row of needles forms an angle other than 90 ° with the direction of movement. In this position, characters inclined in one direction can be written or printed.
- the switch head can also be rotated in the other direction, so that characters inclined in a different direction can be written accordingly. If necessary, the switch head can also be set with angles of inclination of different sizes, so that characters are obtained which have different degrees of inclination forwards or backwards.
- the invention has for its object to reduce the effort for the production and operation of a printhead of the type mentioned and to increase the reliability, especially with regard to the rotatability of the switching head.
- This object is achieved in that the cylinder-shaped switching head receiving the guide block is mounted on a conical seat in a central inner bore of the printhead and is held by holding means.
- Such mounting of the switch head via a conical seat within the cylindrical bore of the print head offers high reliability and reliable guidance of the switch head during its rotational movement within the print head.
- the risk of contamination of the cone surfaces is reduced to a minimum, since they are protected within the printhead bore.
- the stop limits that become effective when the switching head rotates in the circumferential direction can be produced in a simple manner by stop faces on the printhead.
- the switch head is held in the inner bore by a clamp, which is supported on the one hand on the switch head and on the other hand on the print head.
- a clamp which is supported on the one hand on the switch head and on the other hand on the print head.
- a simple manual operation is thus sufficient to switch the print head from one operating mode to another operating mode.
- This control lever is expediently held in the respective end position by a device located on the slide.
- the actuating lever is fastened to the part of the switching head located in the inner bore of the printhead and passes through a recess in the printhead, the boundary surfaces of which serve as limit stops for the actuating lever. The abovementioned stops in the circumferential direction are thus protected in the interior of the printhead housing.
- the actuating lever is fastened to the outside of the switching head and projects radially outwards, whereby Deflection limit for the actuating lever circumferential housing stops of the printhead are formed.
- This type of stop limitation fixed to the housing enables an exact assignment between the guide block fixedly arranged in the switch head on the one hand and the print head housing on the other hand.
- the risk of contamination of the conical seat, which enables reliable guidance, can be reduced in that the switch head is connected to a ring-shaped casing surrounding it at a distance, which surrounds the print head while leaving an air gap and extends parallel to the switch head axis.
- a simple manufacture results from the fact that the switching head in one embodiment of the invention is formed in one piece with its jacket and the adjusting lever.
- a preferred embodiment of the invention is that the guide block has two parallel rows of vertical needles, the position of which is so matched to the two circumferential distance limits that when the actuating lever is in contact with the one stop, the needles of one row fill the gaps cover another row and that when the adjusting lever is in contact with the other stop, the needles of both rows lie at the same height in the writing direction. If the needles of both rows of needles are at the same height, the print head is suitable for fast writing. In the case of needles lying on a gap, however, a so-called fine writing can be produced. The technique of switching from quick writing to fine writing and vice versa is known per se. This change is made in the prior art, for. B.
- the above-mentioned preferred embodiment with the two end stops as limit stops can be changed in that the adjusting lever at at least one other point, for. B. in the middle between the two outer limit stops, can be locked.
- This can e.g. B. may be advantageous for more than two adjacent rows of needles.
- 1 and 2 show two rows of needles 10 and 11, each of which has a plurality of needles 12, 13 arranged one below the other in columns.
- the rows of needles 10 and 11 are arranged in a guide block (not shown in FIGS. 1 and 2) and can be rotated about a pivot point 14.
- There can also be more than two rows of needles. 1 the two rows of needles 10 and 11 are arranged such that when printing, the row of needles 10 cover the gaps 15 of the second row of needles 11. So-called fine writing is possible.
- the rows of needles 10 and 11 are rotated about the pivot point 14 in the direction 16, so that, according to FIG. 2, the needles 12, 13 of both rows of needles 10 and 11 are at the same height 17. This modification makes it possible to print at a higher carriage speed with the same horizontal printing pattern.
- the cylinder-shaped switching head 19 sits in an inner bore 21 of the print head 18 and is mounted on the print head via a conical seat 22.
- the switch head 19 is held by a clamp 23, which is supported on the one hand on grooves 24 of the switch head 19 and on the other hand on openings 25 of the print head 18 and thus presses the switch head 19 exactly against the print head 18 via the conical seat 22.
- a guide block fixedly mounted within the switching head 19 is designated, which in this exemplary embodiment has two rows of printing needles 10 and 11 with the printing needles 12 and 13.
- the printing needles of the rows of needles 10 and 11 run through the inner bore into the housing of the printing head 18 and are connected here to the armatures of electromagnets, not shown.
- the switching head 19 is provided at the end lying in the inner bore 21 with a support plate 27, which is supported with its outer boundary edges 28 in recesses 29 of the switching head 19. This prevents canting and thus jamming of the printing needles 12, 13 when the switching head 19 is rotated.
- 30 further guide holders for the printing needles 12, 13 within the printhead 18 are designated.
- the switching head 19 is connected to an annular jacket 31, which the print head 18 with a gap 32nd surrounds. As a result, the risk of contamination for the conical seat 22 is largely prevented. Seen in a longitudinal section, the switching head 19 thus has an approximately cup-shaped shape, the outer edge of the pot being formed by the jacket 31 and an outwardly projecting cylindrical part being provided for receiving and holding the guide piece 26.
- FIG. 4 shows the actuating lever 33 in the right limit stop 36, with 33a the position of the control lever 33 is indicated, in which it rests on the left limit stop 35.
- the arrangement and location of the needles 12 and 13 of the rows of needles 10 and 11 is matched to the two spacing limitations 35, 36 in such a way that when the actuating lever 33 bears against the stop 36, the needles 12 and 13 of the rows 10 and 11 lie on a gap while when the adjusting lever 33a stops at the limit stop 35, the needles 12 and 13 of both rows of needles 10 and 11 lie on a plane 17 (quick writing).
- the structure of the switch head with the associated control lever and the attachment of the switch head is slightly modified.
- the switching head 19 ' is provided radially on the outside with tabs 37.38 and now has an outside on the switching head 19 'attached control lever 33', which cooperates radially outside with in the circumferential direction of the print head 18 'formed boundary surfaces 35', 36 '.
- An outer bracket 23 ' serves as a bracket, which is supported on the one hand on the tabs 37, 38 and on the other hand on a stop 39 in the printhead housing. Characterized in that the stop limits 35 ', 36' are located radially further outwards, there is a smaller angular error due to manufacturing tolerances.
- the bracket 23 ' is inserted via a groove 40. With 41 an extract lock of the bracket 23 'is designated.

Abstract
Description
- Fig. 4 zeigt einen Schnitt A - A gemäß Fig. 3,
