Definitions
- the invention relates to an interchangeably attachable sewing cutting feet. With the help of such a foot, the sewing machine can sew a seam in one operation and cut off the fabric next to the seam.
- Such a sewing cutting foot has become known from Swiss Patent 541,650.
- the scissors connected to the foot are actuated by the up and down movement of the needle bar.
- the scissors cut a small cutting distance in the direction of the fabric feed before the injection point.
- the cutting length must be short enough so that the cut can also follow a curve.
- the cutting length must be greater than the largest possible stitch length of the machine.
- the stroke of the needle bar is much larger than the required stroke on movable leg of the scissors.
- the movement is derived from a part already present on the needle bar, namely the needle fastening screw.
- the stroke of the movable leg of the scissors should only be about a tenth of the stroke of the needle bar.
- the sewing cutting feet known from CH-PS 541.650 require a double lever ratio. This makes the construction relatively complicated, cumbersome and expensive to manufacture.
- the object of the invention is to create a sewing cutting foot which is simpler in construction and cheaper to produce.
- the invention solves this problem with a sewing cutting foot, which has the features of claim 1.
- lever mechanism according to CH-PS 541 650 is shown in simplified form.
- the needle fastening screw B engages in a longitudinal slot of the lever a, which is pivotable about an X-axis firmly connected to the foot F.
- a bolt a1 of the lever a engages in a slot of the second lever b, which is pivotable about the axis Y firmly connected to the foot F.
- the axis y is also the pivot axis of the movable scissor arm S.
- FIG. 2 shows the considerably simplified lever mechanism of the sewing cutting foot according to the invention.
- the foot itself is again marked with F.
- a about T-shaped swivel lever is pivotable about the axis X 1 firmly connected to the foot.
- a bolt connected to the lever c 1 engages in a slot of the movable scissor cutting leg 5. This can be pivoted about the axis Y, which is firmly connected to the foot.
- a spring is attached so that the flank of the swivel lever always lies against screw B.
- FIG. 3-5 shows an embodiment of a sewing cutting foot on a larger scale.
- the foot 10 is resiliently pivotably connected to the holder 12 of the foot guide rod 13 at 11. This is shown here by broken lines, since it is not part of the invention.
- a bearing bar 14 On one side of the foot there is a bearing bar 14 (see FIG. 5) on which the pivot bearing for the Swivel lever and for the pivotable scissor legs are stored.
- the bearing bar is firmly connected to the foot 10.
- the T-shaped pivot lever 20 is pivotable about the axis 21 fastened in the bar 14.
- a spacer ring 22 and a nut 23 screwed onto the axis 21 ensure that the lever 20 is guided.
- one arm of the lever is bent in a U-shape. This U provides protection against unintentional touching of the scissors.
- the protruding arm of the T-shaped lever has a flank 25 which is in contact with the needle fastening screw 50 during operation. In other words, the screw 50 slides up and down on the flank 25 during operation and thereby causes a pivoting movement of the T-shaped lever.
- the needle bar 51 is shown by broken lines since it is not part of the invention.
- a spiral spring 30 is provided so that the flank 25 is always in contact with the screw B.
- a vertically bent end of the spring engages in a bore 31 in the strip 14.
- the spring wraps around the nut 23 and its other end engages under the front arm of the T-shaped lever. So that the T-shaped lever can actuate the movable leg 40 of the scissors, it is connected to a pin 41 the one that engages in a slot 42 of the leg 40.
- the pin 41 forms part of a screw 43 and is mounted eccentrically to this. This results in an adjustment possibility of the stroke of the scissor leg 40. With the help of the nut 44, the selected setting can be fixed.
- the scissor leg 40 is pivotable about the axis 45.
- a spring 46 ensures a tight fit against the fixed scissor leg 47 and a nut 48 allows the contact pressure to be set.
- the fixed scissor leg is shown in FIG. 5a for itself.
- the towering part 47 ' is held in a groove in the bar 14. Both cutting legs are therefore easy to replace.
- flank 25 of the T-shaped lever arm is shown straight. This means that the cutting movement of the scissors takes place during the entire stroke of the needle bar.
- the flank 25 can also be slightly curved. This allows the cutting movement to be moved to either the start or the end of the plunge movement.
- Figures 6-9 show what can be done with the sewing cutting foot using a modern sewing machine.
- FIG. 6 shows a straight seam next to which the fabric is cut off at a distance X.
- the direction of advance or retraction is indicated by an arrow.
- FIG. 7 shows an overlock or confirmation seam, the zigzag pivoting movement of the needle bar being switched on.
- Figure 8 shows a hemstitch in which only the upper layer of fabric is cut off and Figure 9 shows the same hemstitch from the side.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an interchangeably attachable sewing cutting feet. With the help of such a foot, the sewing machine can sew a seam in one operation and cut off the fabric next to the seam.
Such a sewing cutting foot has become known from Swiss Patent 541,650. In principle, the scissors connected to the foot are actuated by the up and down movement of the needle bar. Each time the needle is inserted, the scissors cut a small cutting distance in the direction of the fabric feed before the injection point. The cutting length must be short enough so that the cut can also follow a curve. On the other hand, the cutting length must be greater than the largest possible stitch length of the machine. The stroke of the needle bar is much larger than the required stroke on movable leg of the scissors.
So that the sewing cutting foot is easy to replace, the movement is derived from a part already present on the needle bar, namely the needle fastening screw. The stroke of the movable leg of the scissors should only be about a tenth of the stroke of the needle bar. The sewing cutting feet known from CH-PS 541.650 require a double lever ratio. This makes the construction relatively complicated, cumbersome and expensive to manufacture.
The object of the invention is to create a sewing cutting foot which is simpler in construction and cheaper to produce. The invention solves this problem with a sewing cutting foot, which has the features of claim 1.

- Fig. 6-9 some sewing work that can be performed with the sewing cutting foot.
In Figure 1, the lever mechanism according to CH-PS 541 650 is shown in simplified form. The needle fastening screw B engages in a longitudinal slot of the lever a, which is pivotable about an X-axis firmly connected to the foot F. A bolt a₁ of the lever a engages in a slot of the second lever b, which is pivotable about the axis Y firmly connected to the foot F. The axis y is also the pivot axis of the movable scissor arm S. With the help of the two levers a and b, the stroke H of the needle bar is reduced to H / 10 on the cutting arm.
Dieser ist um die mit dem Füsschen fest verbundenen Achse Y schwenkbar.FIG. 2 shows the considerably simplified lever mechanism of the sewing cutting foot according to the invention. Here the foot itself is again marked with F. A about T-shaped swivel lever is pivotable about the axis X 1 firmly connected to the foot. A bolt connected to the lever c 1 engages in a slot of the movable scissor cutting leg 5. This can be pivoted about the axis Y, which is firmly connected to the foot.
Thanks to the fact that a flank of the protruding arm of the lever C forms a small angle α to the path of movement of the needle bar or to the path of movement of the needle fastening screw B, the pivoting movement of the lever C is small and no further reduction is required.
A spring, not shown in the diagram, is attached so that the flank of the swivel lever always lies against screw B.
The
On one side of the foot there is a bearing bar 14 (see FIG. 5) on which the pivot bearing for the Swivel lever and for the pivotable scissor legs are stored. The bearing bar is firmly connected to the
The T-
Beide Schneide-Schenkel sind daher leicht auswechselbar.A
In the example shown, the
Figures 6-9 show what can be done with the sewing cutting foot using a modern sewing machine.
Figure 6 shows a straight seam next to which the fabric is cut off at a distance X. The direction of advance or retraction is indicated by an arrow. FIG. 7 shows an overlock or confirmation seam, the zigzag pivoting movement of the needle bar being switched on.
Figure 8 shows a hemstitch in which only the upper layer of fabric is cut off and Figure 9 shows the same hemstitch from the side.
