- Eccentric screw pumps have the advantage that their flow rate at the constant speed of the rotary drive is practically independent of the flow resistance in the pressure line, so that the latter can be optimally dimensioned for its respective application. Eccentric screw pumps have the further advantage that high pressures can be achieved.
- eccentric screw pumps cannot handle large solids. It has therefore already been proposed to connect the eccentric screw pump upstream of a shredder which shreds all the parts sucked in by the eccentric screw pump (see H. Putz, Abwasserhebeanlagen ", trade journal for sanitary, heating, air conditioning, issue 23, 35.JG. 1st edition, Dec 1980, Berlin).
- U.S. Patent Re. 29,626 a wastewater conveying device of the type described in the preamble of claim 1 is disclosed.
- This known wastewater conveying device has a drive motor which is provided with a shaft which is connected to the shaft of the eccentric screw pump via a practically rigid coupling.
- the shaft of the eccentric screw pump is connected to the rotor of the eccentric screw pump via a flexible coupling tube.
- the pump shaft carries the cutting head of the comminution device at its lower end.
- the present invention is based on the object of creating a wastewater conveying device of the type mentioned at the outset which, while taking advantage of the advantages of an eccentric screw pump, enables a simple and comparatively space-saving design.
- the single figure shows a purely schematic side view and partially in longitudinal section of an embodiment of a wastewater conveying device.
- the embodiment shown in the figure is intended for vertical arrangement in a sewage shaft and has an electric motor 50 designed as a submersible motor, which has a rotor 52 arranged on a shaft 51 running in the vertical direction and a stator 53 includes which is attached to the inside of a housing 54.

- a coupling rod is arranged in the interior of the housing 60 and is connected to the end 51a of the shaft 51 of the drive motor 50 via a watertight encapsulated ball joint 62.
- the coupling rod 61 is also connected via an encapsulated ball joint 63 to the helically wound pump rotor 64, which is only shown in half in the drawing.
- the pump rotor 64 interacts with a stator 65 in a manner known per se.
- the housing 60 is provided with a connecting piece 66 for a pressure-side connecting line 67.
- the waste water drawn in by the eccentric screw pump 59 flows approximately radially into an inflow space 68 arranged above the cutting head 56, from where it flows past the cutting head 56 and is pressed by the eccentric screw pump 59 through the connecting line 67.
- the embodiment described has the advantage that the cutting head 56 is seated directly on the motor shaft 51, which also runs in the axial direction at all times during operation.
