Definitions

  • the invention relates to a closure for a bottle-like container, in particular for surgical rinse water or the like, with an integrally formed closure cap, comprising a protective cap which can be screwed onto a thread on the container neck via the closure cap, the protective cap being connected to a tamper-evident securing ring which can be axially fixed to the container, and wherein the protective cap can be pressed against the closure cap by further screwing after separation from the originality securing ring, and the closure cap is thereby torn from the container along the predetermined breaking point.
  • the tamper-evident ring In the known packaging, for example, the tamper-evident ring must be separated at a predetermined breaking point by means of an eyelet and pulled off in the circumferential direction. Such a tear-open and pull-off movement is cumbersome and is difficult to accomplish with a gloved hand.
  • the protective cap After removing the tamper-evident ring, which is also called pilferproof ring, the protective cap must be turned downwards, which is also associated with considerable effort, because according to the prior art, an inner ring shoulder of the protective cap initially has an undercut on the closure cap during this process must be brought, and because the sliding surfaces are relatively large in this process. Because of this great effort with a protective cap of relatively small outer diameter, it can even happen that the sterile gloves of the Operations assistants tear apart what is naturally associated with extraordinary dangers.
  • the tamper-evident ring In order to secure the tamper-evident ring against axial pulling off, it is known to provide it with projections and the container neck with corresponding undercuts. In the case of a tamper-evident securing ring which can be peeled off in the circumferential direction and has a radial predetermined breaking point, these projections must be relatively large in order to ensure a secure fit, which in turn makes handling when opening difficult. In other known solutions, the tamper-evident ring is connected to a retaining ring located below it on the container neck, which is connected to the container itself by ultrasonic welding or gluing. However, this does not guarantee the high level of tightness required in all cases.
  • the invention has for its object to design a closure of the type mentioned in such a way that an absolutely tight closure is guaranteed until use in an operation, but that the closure can be opened quickly and effortlessly if necessary, both unscrewing the protective cap for Tearing off the cap and the subsequent unscrewing of the protective cap should be smooth and easy, and ultimately a completely tight and sterile screwing on of the protective cap should be possible when the cap has already been torn off.
  • the inner diameter of the tamper-evident ring which can be fixed by corresponding projections and undercuts on the container, is larger on its upper edge than the outer diameter of the protective cap on its underside, wherein connecting webs which can be torn off are arranged between the tamper-evident ring and the protective cap, and that below the lower edge of the Protective cap an annular shoulder is arranged on the container with a conical sealing surface for the lower edge of the protective cap.
  • the proposed connection, known per se from pharmaceutical bottles, between tamper-evident ring and protective cap makes it possible to loosen the tamper-evident ring by simply screwing on the protective cap further into the tamper-evident ring fixed axially downward. Accordingly, a separate movement does not need to be carried out for the separation of the protective cap and tamper-evident ring, in particular the tedious radial opening and peeling in the circumferential direction is eliminated.
  • the downward screwing movement must be carried out anyway to tear off the closure cap, so that the use of such a tamper-evident ring is particularly favorable in the present case.
  • the protective cap also provides secure protection during storage and transportation.
  • the webs can already be formed during spraying, so that the entire closure includes the protective cap and the tamper-evident ring a spraying process can be produced.
  • the inside of the lower edge of the protective cap has a conical contact section.
  • This contact section is designed to correspond to the overrun shoulder, so that two adjacent sealing surfaces are created.
  • a thin, elastic sealing ring can advantageously be placed on the casserole shoulder.
  • This sealing ring must be selected in such a way that it is able to compensate for seam projections on the outer wall of the container due to the shape of the technology.
  • At least the vertical section of the protective cap is double-walled, wherein the screw thread is formed on the inside of the inner wall and the conical contact section is formed on the inside of the outer wall. Due to this double wall, the outer diameter of the protective cap is increased despite the use of a standard thread, so that the protective cap is considerably easier to handle, on the other hand the elasticity of the outer wall is increased, so that reliable, defined contact of the contact shoulder on the lower edge of the protective cap on the overrun shoulder on Container neck is guaranteed.
  • an inner, annular projection of the protective cap engages in an undercut on the container neck below the closure cap. This ensures that a corresponding intervention when opening the container does not have to be made by the operator if necessary, so that the screwing on of the protective cap is further facilitated.
  • the cap is carried along in a manner known per se by the projection engaging in the undercut.
  • Gripping lamellae can be arranged on the outside of the closure cap in order to further improve the manageability of the closure cap, which is improved anyway due to the enlarged diameter.
  • an inward bulge is arranged on the inside of the lid area of the protective cap.
  • This preferably has an approximately spherical cap-shaped configuration.
  • At least one downwardly directed rib projection which continuously changes in height in the circumferential direction to be arranged on the inside of the cover region of the protective cap.
  • two such projections each extending over an angular range of 180 ° are provided. This ensures that when the screw cap is screwed on, a selective, asymmetrical pressure is exerted, so that it is sheared off with the least amount of force as the rotary movement progresses.
  • the thread on the neck of the container is conveniently a standard trapezoidal thread.
  • a standard thread which can have, for example, a pitch of 3 mm per turn, is problem-free in terms of production technology and ensures reliable power transmission both when screwing on and when unscrewing.
  • a container shown in Fig. 1 comprises a bottle-like base body 1, on the top of which an annular collar 2 is formed following a conical transition section 2 '.
  • a ramp shoulder 5 is formed, which has a conical ramp surface 6 to be tapered upwards.
  • a predetermined breaking point 11 is formed between a cylinder section 9, which is again of reduced diameter, adjoining the threaded section 7, and the closure cap 10, which can be seen particularly well in FIG. 2 and comprises an inwardly directed section 12 of the closure cap, which has a very thin wall 13 is connected to the cylinder section 9.
  • the closure cap 10 is closed at its top by an approximately flat surface 14.
  • the protective cap 15 shown in FIG. 3 is injection-molded in one piece in the exemplary embodiment with a tamper-evident ring 16.
  • the outer diameter D1 of the protective cap 15 on its lower edge 17 is smaller than the inner diameter D2 of the tamper-evident ring 16 on its upper edge 18.
  • the protective cap 15 is connected in this area to the tamper-evident ring 16 via a plurality of connecting webs 19.
  • the tamper-evident ring 16 has in the region of its lower edge 20 a plurality of projections 21 which are designed to correspond to the undercuts 4 on the top of the container and can be snapped into the latter in such a way that the tamper-evident ring 16 is fixed in the axial direction.
  • the vertically extending wall section 22 of the protective cap 15 is double-walled, a thread 25 corresponding to the thread 8 being formed on the inside 23 of the inner wall 24.
  • the inner wall 24 is connected to the outer wall 26 via a radially extending shoulder section 27.
  • a contact section 28 is formed on the lower edge 17 of the protective cap 15 on the inside of the outer wall 26.
  • an inwardly extending bulge 30 is provided on the top 29 of the protective cap 15.
  • An annular projection 33 is formed on a cylindrical section 31 of reduced diameter above the radial shoulder section 27 in the region of its inner lower edge 32.
  • the annular projection 33 lies in the region of the cylinder section 9 in the neck region of the container and engages behind the section 12 of the closure cap 10. In this state the tamper-evident ring is due to the projections engaging in the undercuts 4 on the container neck 21 axially fixed.
  • the protective cap 15 is screwed downwards, which is due to the relatively large outer diameter of the protective cap 15 on the one hand and the handle lamellae additionally attached there 34 is easily possible.
  • the bulge 30 of the protective cap 15 comes into contact with the flat upper end 14 of the closure cap 10 and presses it downward, so that the closure cap 10 is separated from the base body 1 of the container at the predetermined breaking point 11.
  • the frictional resistance when rotating is very low due to the point-like contact of the pole 35 of the bulge 30 on the flat surface 14 of the closure cap 10, so that this rotary movement can be accomplished effortlessly.
  • the conical surface 28 comes to rest against the casserole shoulder 6 in the neck region of the container, a tight connection being made so that in this state the container is still hermetically sealed and sterile in spite of the cap 15 being torn off.
  • the tightness of the connection can be increased by applying a thin, elastic sealing ring 36.
  • the protective cap can now be unscrewed, also in this direction of movement due to the trapezoidal thread 8 used a secure power transmission is achieved.
  • the closure cap 10 which has already been separated, is pulled upwards by the circumferential projection 33, which engages the section 12 of the closure cap 10.
  • a circumferential web projection 37 with a progressively changing height is arranged on the inside of the protective cap 15. This web projection 37 engages a shoulder 38 of the closure cap 10 shown in broken lines in FIG.
  • an inwardly projecting sealing lip 41 is provided on the tamper-evident ring 16 and a sealing lip 40 is provided on the protective cap 15 on the outside of its lower edge.
  • a further sealing lip 42 is provided, which against the corresponding Section of the bottle neck rests and ensures an additional seal.
  • An approximately horizontally extending shoulder section 43 is provided on the closure cap, which enables the attachment and interaction with the protective cap 15.
  • axially parallel reinforced ribs 44 and 45 are formed on the outside of the tamper-evident ring 16 on the one hand and the wall section 22 of the protective cap 15 on the other hand. These serve to ensure even entrainment of the tamper-evident ring 16 with the protective cap 15 when the bottle is closed mechanically by means of a closing head. This is intended to secure the finely formed connecting webs 19 from tearing off. If the ribs 44, 45, in particular the ribs 44, cannot be provided, then it is advantageous if the connecting webs 19 are additionally supported, as is described, described and protected in detail in DE-PS 27 04 461 is.
