Abstract

In known damping systems, the damping solution is fed from a damping solution reservoir and passed on by means of transfer rollers to an applicator roller which is positioned directly against a plate cylinder. A uniform film of damping solution is fed to the applicator roller from the transfer rollers. Streaks of excess damping solution are formed on the applicator cylinder because of the clamping channels on the plate cylinder. Furthermore, the applicator roller takes off excess damping solution from the hydrophilic areas of the surface of the plate cylinder and releases it at another point on renewed contact with the plate cylinder. This leads to the undesired formation of streaks in the printed image. In accordance with the invention, the diameter of the damping solution applicator roller (3) relative to that of the plate cylinder (2) is so determined that for n clamping channels, its diameter is a 1/n multiple of or is equal to its diameter. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Feuchtwerk an einer Rollenrotations-­Offsetdruckmaschine, dessen Feuchtmittel- Auftragwalze unmittelbar an einen Plattenzylinder anstellbar ist.The invention relates to a dampening system on a web-fed rotary offset printing machine, the dampening solution applicator roller of which can be adjusted directly to a plate cylinder.

Aus der DE-OS 30 16 366 ist ein gattungsgemäßes Feuchtwerk bekannt. Bei diesem wird das Feuchtmittel mittels eines Feuchtduktors einem Feuchtmittelkasten entnommen und über eine Feuchtmittel-­Auftragwalze unmittelbar an einen Plattenzylinder abgegeben. An den Stellen, an denen die Feuchtmittel- Auftragwalze über die Spannkanäle des Plattenzylinders rollt, wird kein Feuchtmittel abgenommen, und es entstehen an der Feuchtmittel- Auftragwalze Streifen mit einem Feuchtmittel-Oberschuß, die bis ins Druckbild hineinwirken. Die Feuchtmittel- Auftragwalze nimmt als Rückwirkung ferner Feuchtmittel vom Plattenzylinder auf, das sich dort in den Wasser annehmenden Flächen sammelt. Zur Vergleichmäßigung des Feuchtmittelfilms wird bei der bekannten Anordnung an die Auftragwalze eine zusätzliche Reiberwalze angestellt. Abgesehen vom zusätzlichen Aufwand, den die Reiberwalze verursacht, läßt sich mit dieser Anordnung eine Streifenbildung im Druckbild, die aus den am Plattenzylinder in wechselnden Umfangsbereichen auftretenden Streifen uberschüssigen Feuchtmittels resultiert, nicht immer wirkungsvoll verhindern.A generic dampening system is known from DE-OS 30 16 366. Fig. 1 zeigt eine teilweise Seitenansicht eines Druckwerkes einer Rollenrotations- Offsetdruckmaschine. Mit 1 ist ein Gummituchzylinder, mit 2 ein an diesen angestellter Plattenzylinder bezeichnet, in diesen zwei Spannkanälen 21, 22 die Enden zweier an seinem Umfang anliegender Druckplatten fixiert sind. An den Plattenzylinder 2 ist eine Feuchtmittel- Auftragwalze 3 unmittelbar angestellt. Mit letzterer steht eine erste Übertragwalze 4 in Kontakt, die wiederum in Berührung mit einer zweiten Übertragwalze 5 steht. Mit der zweiten Übertragwalze 5 steht ein Feuchtmittel- Geber 6 in Kontakt. Dieser kann als in einen Feuchtmittelkasten eintauchender Feuchtmittel- Duktor oder als Heberwalze ausgebildet sein. Auch hier kann wahlweise eine der bekannten Feuchtmittel-Auftragsarten, die bereits beim ersten Ausführungsbeispiel aufgezählt wurden, verwendet werden. Zur Vermeidung der unerwünschten Streifenbildung im Druckbild ist bei dieser zweiten Ausführungsform der Durchmesser d₁₀ der Feuchtmittel-Auftragwalze 10 exakt halb so groß - bei zwei Spannkanälen somit das 1/n-fache - wie der Durchmesser d₉ des plattenzylinders 9 ausgelegt. Zur Erhöhung der Sicherheit gegen Feuchtmittel-Streifenbildung ist bei dieser Variante der Durchmesser d₁₁ der ersten Übertragwalze 11 so groß ausgebildet wie der Durchmesser d₁₀ der Feuchtmittel- Auftragwalze 10.In a second exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2, the structure largely corresponds to the first exemplary embodiment.
