Definitions

  • the invention relates to a rudder combination device in which two rudder arms, each provided with a handle and acting against an adjustable resistance element, are hingedly connected to one end of each adjustable rudder arm support and a displaceable seat is guided in the longitudinal direction of the frame and at the end of the frame an upholstered board is pivotally mounted and is fixed via a bearing rail and a mounting socket attached to the frame.
  • a training device is already described in British Patent Specification 1 133 927, which can take the form of a chair with a rudder device rotatably attached to it as well as a conventional rowing machine at ground level with a sliding seat to simulate rowing.
  • both a backrest designed as an upholstered board and a seat and two further frame parts are articulated on a main frame.
  • the additional frame parts form the supports for the erected main frame and the seat, with the upholstered board resting on the main frame.
  • the three frame parts are folded flat and arranged at ground level; the upholstery board is swung back and the seat lies on the main frame.
  • the actual rudder device consists of laterally pivotable cantilevers (rudder arm supports) attached to the side parts of the main frame in gradually rotatable hubs with rudder arms articulated thereon.
  • the rudder arm supports directed laterally outwards allow the rudder arms to be gradually adjusted in height, but are simultaneously moved inwards or outwards and thus only permit height adjustment within narrow limits.
  • the known rudder combination devices (cf. EP 0 095 226) enable a versatile application, for. B. rowing exercises, two-armed mutual covers, squats, shoulder lifts, arm curls, shoulder and bench presses. Because of this wide training program rudder combination devices find ever wider user groups in practice.
  • the rudder combination device can be used both in a horizontally running position of the frame and in a vertically running position of the frame.
  • the upholstery board serves as a floor support, i.e. H. the upholstery board runs in a substantially rectangular position to the frame.
  • the upholstery board must be repositioned in this position.
  • Telescopic connections are used for this purpose, which run approximately perpendicular to the frame.
  • the upholstered board is therefore a so-called accessory, which only has to be inserted for the respective use situation and, if necessary, locked in this position. This requires additional handles for the user.
  • it has already been found that the upholstered board as a separate accessory was not stored near the combination device and was therefore not available when needed, which occurs especially when the device is not used continuously.
  • the rudder arms connected to the known rudder combination devices are each articulated at a fixed point.
  • the resistance setting is variable, but not the hinge point.
  • the invention has for its object to design a rudder combination device of the type shown, that the application possibilities are expanded, the required device setting being simplified and possible with a minimum of effort.
  • the rudder arm support in a rigidly attached to the frame of the rudder combination device, formed by vertical side walls and a base plate bracket part vertically adjustable above the frame and the support board is assigned a support beam which is connected at one end to the upholstery board and is articulated to the receptacle at the other end, the pivotable support bracket being lockable on the receptacle.
  • a rudder combination device designed in this way opens up versatile application possibilities with simple and quick adjustment of the rudder arms, the upholstery board and the seat.
  • the upholstery board has become an integral part of the rudder combination device due to the arrangement according to the invention. By simply swiveling the upholstery board from an approximately horizontal position where it extends in the seat, it can be brought into a position perpendicular to the frame.
  • the arrangement and design of the joint for the rudder arm support is uncomplicated and robust and, due to the variable adjustability of the articulation points of the rudder arms, allows additional ones to be carried out Exercises with load on other muscle areas and at the same time ensures simple and safe mounting and guiding of the rudder arm support.
  • Two rudder arms 2, each provided with a handle 19, are articulated on a frame 3 and act against an adjustable hydraulic resistance 20.
  • a seat 14 is slidably guided over guide rollers 15.
  • the guideway 28 for the seat 14 is supported on one side on the frame 3 and on the other side on a holding bracket 12 guided on the frame 3.
  • the rudder arms 2 are attached via a rudder arm support 16 in a mounting part 17 arranged on the frame 3 so as to be variable in height.
  • the holding part 17 has two side walls connected by a base plate, in which openings 18 are arranged at a distance from one another. When viewed from the side, the center points of the openings 18 run in an arcuate line which has the shape of a quarter circle.
  • the side walls of the holding part 17 have the shape of a quarter circle.
  • the rudder arm support 16 is inserted between the side walls of the holding part 17 and articulated in the desired openings 18 by means of locking bolts 21. There is also the possibility of designing the holding part 17 for the steplessly variable fastening of the rudder arm support 16.
  • a receptacle 8 is rigidly arranged, to which the upholstery board 1 is connected in an articulated manner via a support bracket 4.
  • This adjustment screw 6 is, as indicated in Fig. 3, in the vertical position of the upholstery board 1 on a stepped bearing surface 11 of the receptacle 8 and can be adjusted if necessary so that there is always sufficient jamming for stable mounting of the upholstery board in the vertical position 1 is reached.
  • the hinge point between the receptacle 8 and the support bracket 4 is 9 and the hinge point between the support bracket 4 and the upholstery board 1 is 10.
  • a tab 7 which extends at a right angle to the mounting rail 5 and which engages under a guide roller 15 of the seat 14, is arranged on the projecting end face of the bearing rail 5 of the upholstery board 1 , see. Fig. 3.
  • the support beam 4 of the upholstery board 1 is articulated in the receptacle 8 of the frame 3 and is guided in a manner variable in height.
  • the receptacle 8 is provided with an elongated hole 22 and an upper cutout 29, the width of the elongated hole 22 being dimensioned according to the hinge pin 9 and the depth of the cutout 29 corresponding to the width of the support beam 4.
  • a set screw 23 is used to lock the support bracket 4 inserted vertically into the receiving socket 8.
  • two lateral cantilever cheeks 24 are arranged, to which a locking lever 25 provided with a cross piece 27 is assigned.
  • the locking lever 25 is articulated on the frame 3 and can be inserted into an undercut 26 of the cantilever beams 24 to ensure the vertical position of the support beam 4 with the upholstery board 1.
  • the upholstery boards 1 can each be pivoted through 180 ° to the support beam 4 via the pivot points 30.
  • FIGS. 9 to 13 A particularly advantageous variant of an articulated connection of the upholstery board 1 to the receiving connector 8 can be seen from FIGS. 9 to 13.
  • the receptacle 8 is open on the opposite side of the adjusting screw 23 34 so that the support bracket 4 connected in the articulation point 9 can pivot out of the area of the receptacle 8 when the upholstery board 1 is pivoted with its part located below the articulation point 9.
  • a pinch protection 31 is arranged.
  • the front of this pinch guard 31 is convex.
  • the set screw 23 is assigned a counter-thread sleeve 33 fixed in the support bracket 4, a locking disk 32 being arranged on the set screw 23.
  • the seat 14 slidably mounted on the guideway 28 can be locked in a stepless manner by means of the locking screw 35, so that in the exercise shown in FIG. 14 a secure supine position of the person using the device is ensured.
  • the U-shaped mounting brackets 36 arranged on the underside of the upholstery board 1 at both ends also contribute to this secure position.
  • the end faces of the flanges of the mounting brackets 36 are concavely curved in accordance with the profile of the guide tubes of the guideway 28, so that they, like 13 recognizable, can slide on the guide track 28 when pivoting the cushion board 1.
  • the storage bracket 36 have different lengths.
