Definitions
- the invention relates to an office machine, e.g. a printer, with a printing unit, a single paper transport via drive rollers and with a continuous paper transport via a swiveling tractor.
- Such an office machine designed as a printer is e.g. made known by EP 0 197 340 A2.
- the known printer occupies pairs of rollers arranged in front of and behind the printing unit with drive and pressure rollers in the direction of flow of the paper.
- a tractor arranged in front of the printing unit and working in the pushing position is provided for the transport of continuous paper.
- the known printer can be switched from conveying continuous paper to conveying single papers by swiveling the tractor. In both operating modes, the path of the paper runs essentially on a flat path.
- the type of construction according to the invention enables changing operating modes with one and the same device with simple means, without functional modules having to be removed or installed.
- the path of the individual papers fed from the input channels in the lower area runs essentially in a straight line diagonally through the housing and ends in the upper area in a storage compartment.
- Continuous paper can be fed from either the back or the front of the machine. When feeding from the On the back, the continuous paper runs over the tractor in the push position, is deflected by the pressure roller (curved) and leaves the printer in the upper area.
- the path for the continuous paper is initially identical to the path for the single sheets after leaving the printing unit.
- the two paths are separated by a paper switch arranged in the upper area of the machine.
- the path runs essentially in a straight line, but is guided behind the printing unit in the direction of the paper track of the tractor in the pulling position and leaves the printer at a rear housing slot.
- This paper guide is suitable for continuous paper, which must not be curved due to its thickness. Viewed from the side, the paper path runs approximately diagonally from the bottom left at the front in the entrance area to the top right in the outlet area of the housing.
- the detachable arrangement of the cassettes which are preferably constructed in the same way, it is easy to switch to automatic individual paper conveying.
- the slanted arrangement of the cassettes in the front area enables a good overview and makes handling and refilling easier.
- the similar training saves expensive storage and cumbersome installation.
- the arrangement of the tractor behind the printing unit enables easy access, e.g. B. by folding up one Housing swivel part.
- the large number of different operating modes which can be set with one and the same device is essentially achieved by the specially designed, arranged and adjustable tractor, which is coupled or can be coupled to further components.
- a mixed mode can be set as a further operating mode, in which either a curved continuous paper transport or, after the continuous paper is brought into a parking position of the tractor and held there, a straight single paper transport is made possible.
- This operating mode saves a tedious re-threading of the continuous paper into the tractor when changing from a single paper transport to a continuous paper transport.
- the tractor preferably has two stops which act indirectly on the pressure rollers of the roller pairs located in front of and behind the printing unit.
- the pressure rollers of the first pair of rollers can be released when the tractor is pivoted into the pull position by the action of the first stop, while the pressure rollers of the second pair of rollers located behind the printing unit, which are arranged on a housing pivot part, can be released by closing the housing pivot part by the second stop projecting in the pull position.
- the first stop acts on a lever mechanism with a rod which is connected at one end via a one-armed rotary lever to the pressure rollers of the first pair of rollers in such a way that they are opened or closed during a longitudinal movement and at the other end with one lever arm of a two-armed rotary lever is articulated, the free lever arm of which has a curved engagement surface for engaging the first tractor stop.
- the straight paths for single papers and the curved path for continuous papers behind the printing unit have an identical route through the paper tail unit, a switch which is rotatable in the housing pivot part being provided for deflecting the paper paths behind the paper tail unit.
- This switch can be coupled to a tractor drive via a two-armed, rotatably mounted rotary lever with a tractor drive, so that each turn of the tractor drive results in a simultaneous adjustment of the switch with each rotation or rotation of the rotary lever.
- Such a positive coupling between the switch on the one hand and the tractor on the other hand ensures that when the tractor drive is uncoupled, individual paper transport is made possible via drive rollers and the individual papers are stored in a tray by a corresponding position of the switch.
- the tractor is engaged driven the continuous paper transport started, while at the same time through the then adjusted switch, which is formed in the rear part as a tear-off edge, the continuous papers are led out of the printer through a special housing slot.
- the tractor drive is preferably actuated in that the other lever arm of the rotary lever carries a drive roller which is driven by a main drive of the office machine and which can be brought into or out of engagement with a drive wheel of the tractor when the rotary lever is rotated.
- This type of engagement and disengagement of the tractor drive is simple in construction and not prone to failure.
- the two-armed rotary lever can be moved in different ways.
- the rotary lever is adjustable via a motor-driven eccentric, which acts on one of the two lever arms. This is preferably done in that one of the lever arms has a recess into which the eccentric protrudes.
- manual operation can also be advantageous, with the two-armed rotary lever being able to be provided with an additional hand lever.
- the rotary lever can also be adjusted by moving a printer carriage horizontally.
- FIGS. 1 to 11 exemplary embodiments of the object according to the invention are shown schematically in FIGS. 1 to 11 and explained in the following description with further advantages.
- 1 to 6 has a housing 10 which is closed on all sides in the operating state.
- Channels 11, 12 and 13 are provided on the front of the printer (operating side) for the paper transport.
- 14, 15 denote cassettes for single sheets 16, which, as described below, are fed via the channel 13 to a printing device.
- the first cassette 14 is hooked onto bolts 18 of the housing 10 via hooks 17, while the second identically constructed cassette 15 is hooked onto bolts 20 of the first cassette 14 via hooks 19.
- 21,22 are identified with the cassettes 14,15 singling rolls. Depending on the available space, several such cassettes can be piggybacked together.
- FIG. 6 shows a further operating mode in which the individual parts assume the position according to FIG. 5.
- the tractor 48 is in the "pull" position.
- the continuous paper 56 ' is fed through the outlet 57 from behind and inserted into the tractor 48.
- the form head of the first form to be printed is controlled in the printing position by sensors.
- the paper moves in the direction of 59.
- the form is ejected in the direction of 58 out of the channel 11, until the form head of the second form is in the printing position.
- the first form is now completely out of channel 11 and can be separated.
- the printing and transport of the second form in the direction of 59 can take place immediately.
- the return transport in direction 58 from channel 11 takes place, as described previously. Through the process just described the last printed form can be separated immediately without losing the form.
- the rod 62 is deflected against the force of a spring 67 in the direction 68 and thereby rotates a one-armed Lever 69 which is rotatably connected to the flattened shaft 33.
- the lever 69 By turning the lever 69, the leaf spring 32 is raised so that the pressure rollers 28b are released.
