Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a security lock for a door, opening window or the like, comprising at least one bolt throwing, at least one deadbolt, control means making it possible to bring these bolts into an open position and a position for closing in a keeper formed in a frame and means for blocking the bolt throwing in its closed position according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • a security lock of this kind is known from document US-A-3,242,706.
  • This lock has the disadvantage of being able to receive only one handle on one of its sides, otherwise the locking member would not offer additional protection.
  • the present invention aims to provide a lock of the aforementioned type having a very high reliability from the security point of view while being of a very simple construction which, in particular because of this, opens up a large number of very diverse applications to it. It is more particularly a lock on which can be adapted very sophisticated command and control means, for example, by using computer and remote control.
  • the invention proposes a lock of the aforementioned type with the characteristics set out in claim 1.
  • the lock comprises at least two separate throwing bolts situated at a certain distance from each other and cooperating with each other by means of '' a mechanical or electrical transmission, so that they can be actuated simultaneously.
  • Figure 1 shows an elevational view, partially broken, of a first embodiment of a lock according to the invention mounted in a door, the door being closed and the deadbolt and the latching bolt being engaged in their strike respective.
  • Figure 2 is a view similar to Figure 1 in which, however, the deadbolt is in its open position.
  • Figure 3 is a view similar to the preceding figures with the bolt also launching in its open position under the action of the control means of this bolt.
  • Figure 4 is a view similar to that of Figures 1 to 3, in which the door is brought into an open position by maneuvering the door handle.
  • FIG. 5 is another view similar to that of the preceding figures in which the opening of the door took place by means of the control means of the deadbolt, such as a key.
  • Figure 6 is an elevational view, partially broken, on the side opposite to that shown in Figures 1 to 5, with the door and the lock in the position shown in Figure 1.
  • FIG. 7 is a view similar to that of FIG. 6, showing the position of the door and of the lock, as shown in FIG. 4.
  • Figure 8 is an elevational view, partially broken, of a second embodiment of the lock according to the invention, in which, as in Figure 1, the bolts launching and standing are in their closed position.
  • FIG. 9 shows the lock according to this second embodiment in the same position as in FIG. 2.
  • FIG. 10 shows this second embodiment of the lock in the same position as that shown in FIG. 3.
  • FIG. 11 shows the lock according to this second embodiment in the same position as in FIG. 4.
  • FIG. 12 shows the lock according to this second embodiment in the same position as in FIG. 5.
  • throwing bolt should be understood to mean a bolt which is brought, from its open position, into its closed position under the action of a spring. Such a bolt can also be called a "U-bolt”.
  • the lock according to the invention is in particular intended for burglar-resistant doors, although it can, of course, also be applied to all doors or windows for which a certain security from the point of view of closure is required.
  • FIGS. 1 to 7 show a first embodiment of such a lock embedded in a door leaf which, for its part, is mounted in a frame 2.
  • the lock 1 comprises a throwing bolt 3, a dead bolt 4, control means making it possible to bring these bolts 3 and 4 in an open position and a closed position in a keeper 5 respectively 27, formed in the frame 2, and means for locking the bolt throwing 4 in its closed position.
  • the aforementioned control means of the throwing bolt 3 comprise a lever 6 which can be actuated, for example by a handle 20 wedged on a pivot 29 of square section engaging in a housing of corresponding section 30 d 'a ring 31 which is integral with the lever 6.
  • the latter and this ring 31 form the lock follower which is a part swiveling around a fixed point 7 between the plaster and the lock of the lock, so that the lever 6 can rotate in a plane substantially parallel to that in which the throwing bolt 3 moves, that is to say in the plane of the door leaf itself.
  • the follower cooperates with a return spring 39 which thus allows the handle 20, when released, to its rest position, which corresponds to that shown in FIG. 1.
  • the above-mentioned locking means comprise, on the one hand, a locking member 9 pivoting around a second fixed point 10, between a locking position, as shown for example in FIG. 1, making it possible to lock the bolt throwing 3 under the action of a second spring 11 in its closed position, and an unlocking position, against this second spring 11, as shown for example in FIG. 3, so as to allow the bolt throwing 3 to pass from its closed position to its open position and vice versa and, on the other hand, an auxiliary throwing bolt 12 which, when the throwing bolt 3 is in its closed position in its keeper 5, occupies a retracted position, as shown in Figures 1 to 3, and keeps the locking member 9 in its locking position.
  • a transmission member 15 pivots around a fourth fixed point 16 which, in this embodiment, coincides with the fixed point 7, and cooperates with the locking member 9 and the lever 6.
  • Drive means 17, 18 are provided between the lever 6 and the transmission member 5, on the one hand, and between the latter and the locking member 9, on the other hand, making it possible to bring this member 9 in an unlocked position when bringing the latch bolt 3 into its open position, therefore acting on the handle 20, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • a connecting rod 19 is articulated by one of its ends on the deadbolt 4 and by its other end on the transmission member 15.
  • this connecting rod can, in addition, cooperate with the control means 26 of the deadbolt 4 and bring, by acting on the transmission member 15, the locking member 9 in its unlocked position and the latch bolt 3 in its open position. This has been illustrated in Figure 5.
  • the auxiliary throwing bolt 12 cooperates with a tilting part 13 which, when the throwing bolt 3 is in its closed position in the keeper 5, occupies a retracted position while maintaining this part 13, against a third spring 14, in a sufficiently free position relative to the locking member 9 so that the latter can, under the effect of the second spring 11, be maintained in its locking position.
  • the auxiliary launching bolt 12 is automatically held in its retracted position when the door is closed by the fact that the frame 2 does not have a strike facing this auxiliary bolt.
  • the auxiliary bolt 12 is automatically forced into its retracted position by tilting the part 13 around a rod 36 fixed to the base plate 32 or poncet of the lock.
  • the aforementioned connecting rod 19 is articulated by one of its ends on a stud 21 fixed on the transmission part 15, the other end being guided on a lug 22 fixed to the tail 50 of the deadbolt 4 and extending through a slot guide 23 formed in the connecting rod 19, substantially in the longitudinal direction of the latter.
  • the lock according to this first embodiment constitutes the main lock of a multiple bolt lock.
  • a multiple bolt lock comprises the bolts throwing 3 and standing 4 of this main lock and, in general, a high bolt located in the upper part of the door and a low bolt located in the lower part thereof.
  • These top and bottom bolts which have not been shown in the figures, are controlled by a rod 28 connected to the transmission member 9, through a buttonhole 37 formed in the base plate 32 of the lock box, as represented in FIGS. 6 and 7.
  • the rod 28 is articulated on a pin 38 fixed on the back of the transmission member 15 and passing through said buttonhole 37.
  • the lock 1 is a lock embedded in a housing formed in the thickness of the opening part of a door 2 ⁇ , in particular of a burglar-proof door, so that only the headrest 39 of the lock appears and is flush with the edge of this opening part.
  • this tail has a slot 54, extending in the direction of this arrow, in which also engages the pillar 45 and the length of which determines the total stroke of the deadbolt 4 between its fully retracted position, corresponding to its open position, and its fully extended position, corresponding to its closed position.
  • the projection 42 abuts against the first tooth 51 by moving the bolt 4 in the direction of the arrow 53 over half of its travel and, then performing a second turn, in the same sense, the projection 42 abuts against the second tooth 52, by moving the bolt 4 over the other half of its travel, that is to say into its fully retracted position.
  • the connecting rod 19 is driven by the lug 22 and simply undergoes an angular displacement around the pin 21, in the direction of the arrow 53, without the transmission member 9, on which it is articulated, moving. As soon as the projection 42 departs from the lower edge 43 ⁇ of the groove 43, the latter returns to its lowered position under the action of the spring 46.
  • the position of the various parts of the lock mechanism, when the deadbolt 4 is in its open position has been clearly illustrated in Figure 2.
  • the following operation to open the door consists in bringing the bolt throwing 3 into its open position by turning the handle 20 downwards, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • the follower constituted by the ring 31 and the lever 6, which is fixed on the latter, thus undergoes, under the action of the pivot 29, a rotation movement similar to that of the handle 20, as shown by the arrow 35
  • a roller stop 57 mounted on this transmission member 15 and constituting the drive means 17, thus pushes against the locking member 9 and rotates the latter around the pin 10 against the spring 11 by bringing this member in its unlocked position and at the same time lifting the connecting rod 19, thanks to the presence of the slot 23 in which the lug 22 can slide freely.
  • top and bottom bolts are dead bolts which, in this case, cooperate with the dead bolt 4 of the main lock by means of an appropriate linkage.
  • the door can be opened.
  • This part is formed by a slightly curved strip which pivots by one of its ends. around the rod 36 and which has, at its other end, a stop 59 which bears against a hook-shaped part 60 of the locking member 9, against the spring 11.
  • the spring 14, having greater force than the spring 11, keeps the locking member 9 in its unlocked position after the handle 20 has taken its initial position, as illustrated in FIG. 1. This therefore makes it possible to close the door without the need to operate the handle.
  • An important characteristic of the lock according to the present invention is that it is possible to bring the latch bolt 3 into its open position at the same time as the dead bolt 4 by the control means 26 of the latter, for example by turning the key in the barrel 40.
  • roller stop 57 will also push against the locking member 9 to bring it into its unlocked position.
  • the transmission member 15 also has a finger 61 which acts on the hook-shaped end 58 of the tail 34 of the launching bolt 3 and which makes it possible to bring the latter into its open position. This was illustrated in Figure 5.
  • Figures 8 to 12 relate to a second embodiment of the lock according to the invention which differs essentially from the first embodiment by the shape and the arrangement of the constituent parts of the mechanism of the lock.
  • the locking member 9 has a finger 62, which is located below the tail of the throwing bolt 3 and which is, when the latter is brought into its locking position, such as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, raised up to the path of movement of the throwing bolt, whereas, in the first embodiment, this finger 62 is located above the throwing bolt, so that it is lowered to bring the member 9 in its locked position.
  • the connecting rod 19 cooperates with the locking member 9 via a guide 24, which is formed by a lug fixed on the lower end of this member 9 and which moves in a recess 25, forming a guide path, formed in the connecting rod between the slot 23 and the point of articulation 21.
  • this recess 25 relative to this guide 24 and the shape thereof are such that they can rotate the locking member 9 around its point of rotation 10, from its locking position to its position of unlocking, by acting on the connecting rod 19 via the control means 26 of the deadbolt 4.
  • the guide 24 with the recess 25 replace the roller stop 57 provided on the transmission member 15 of the first embodiment.
  • the arrangement and the shape of the guide path 25 and of the guide 24 relative to each other are such that the connecting rod 19 can maintain the locking member 9 in its locking position when the dead bolt 4 is in its closed position.
  • the recess 25 has substantially the shape of an L, one of the branches 25a of which extends in the longitudinal direction of the connecting rod and the other branch of which 25b extends transversely thereto.
  • a characteristic of the branch 25b is that its lower edge 25c slopes towards the branch 25a.
  • the guide 24 is then brought into the free end of the branch 25b of the recess because the transmission member 15 lifts the connecting rod 19, as can be seen in FIGS. 10 and 11.
  • the shape of the tilting part 13 also somewhat different from that of the lock according to FIGS. 1 to 5. It also has a stop 59, the latter being able to cooperate with the edge 60 of the locking member 9 and maintain the latter in its unlocked position, when the auxiliary bolt 12 is out, and thus allow the tilting of this member 9 in its locked position, when the auxiliary bolt 12 is retracted.
  • both the handle 20 and the barrel 40 could be actuated electronically, for example by means of a suitable miniature motor, which can be controlled remotely or not.
