Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a transverse thruster, in particular a bow thruster, for ships, consisting of a transverse thrust channel formed in the hull and consisting of a tunnel tube and a gear housing with a propeller arranged therein.
Such transverse thrusters are known. In these, a propeller rotates in a transversal channel in the bow and / or stern and presses the suctioned water, working like an axial pump, depending on the selected direction of rotation or the wing position for variable pitch propellers to starboard or port. With such a transverse thrust system, the maneuvering of a ship at low speeds is also made easier.
When working with transverse thrusters, there are usually unpleasant noises that are particularly annoying, especially under living and recreational areas on ships. These noises are caused by the working of the gear teeth and by water noises coming from the propeller. Furthermore, cavitation occurs in the mostly highly stressed screws, i.e. Cavitation, due to negative pressure. When these vapor bubbles condense suddenly, hammer-like blows occur, which are noticeably noticeable as structure-borne noise through the tunnel wall into the ship's interior and as water-borne noise through the water. In the living rooms or lounges, the room noise for the crew and passengers is partially subversive.
The invention is therefore based on the object To reduce the noise from transverse thrusters in order to avoid unpleasant noises when working with transverse thrusters, which can be very annoying, especially under living and recreational areas on ships.
To solve this problem, a transverse thruster according to the type described in the introduction is proposed, in which air outlet openings are formed in or on the wall of the tunnel tube, which are connected to a compressed air generating device via at least one air supply tube and which have a corresponding size to form a finely distributed air flow . In this embodiment, cavitation noises are reduced by blowing in and finely distributing air. The cavitation bubbles hit a softer cushion consisting of air and water when condensing.
The object is further achieved in a transverse thruster according to the type described above in such a way that, according to the invention, the transmission housing with the propeller is mounted on the tunnel tube with the interposition of elastic molded bodies. Mechanical transmission noise is reduced here by elastic suspension of the entire transmission housing or the connection of this component to the tunnel tube.
In addition, the object is achieved with a transverse thruster in that, according to the invention, the tunnel tube is double-walled entirely or in the area of the propeller, forming an intermediate space, insulating material or a sand filling being arranged in the intermediate space. Through this configuration A transverse thruster reduces structure-borne noise by surrounding the propeller area from the outside by means of a cavity filled with sand or the like.
If a reduction in the cavitation noises and the mechanical transmission noises are to be achieved, the invention provides a transverse thruster which is designed in such a way that air outlet openings are formed in or on the wall of the tunnel tube, which are connected to a compressed air generating device via at least one air supply tube, and that the gear housing with the propeller is mounted on the tunnel tube with the interposition of elastic molded bodies.
A reduction in the cavitation noise and a structure-borne noise reduction is achieved if a transverse thruster is designed according to the invention in such a way that air outlet openings are formed in or on the wall surface of the tunnel tube, which are connected to a compressed air generating device via at least one air supply tube and which form a finely distributed air flow have a corresponding size, and that the tunnel tube is made double-walled entirely or in the area of the propeller with the formation of a space, insulation material or a sand filling being arranged in the space.
In addition, there is also the possibility to reduce the mechanical transmission noise and structure-borne noise, a transverse thruster in such a way that the transmission housing with the propeller is mounted on the tunnel tube with the interposition of elastic moldings, which The tunnel tube is made completely or double-walled in the area of the propeller to form an intermediate space, insulation material or a sand filling being arranged in the intermediate space.
If at the same time a reduction in the cavitation noises, the mechanical transmission noises and the structure-borne noise are to be achieved, the invention provides a transverse thruster of the type described at the outset, which is designed in such a way that air outlet openings are formed in or on the wall of the tunnel tube which have at least one an air supply pipe are connected to a compressed air generating device and which have a corresponding size to form a finely divided air flow, that the gear housing with the propeller is mounted on the tunnel pipe with the interposition of elastic molded bodies, and that the tunnel pipe is wholly or in the area of the propeller with the formation of a space is double-walled, with insulating material or a sand filling being arranged in the intermediate space.
