Abstract

An improved built-in ceiling light. The dimensions of openings provided in false ceilings for the installation of built-in ceiling lights result in light housing dimensions which do not always provide the necessary storage space for the electrical components, in particular the ballast. It is known to obtain this necessary storage space by means of a projection from a side wall on the side of the housing base. However, this impedes the installation assembly. To avoid this difficulty the improved ceiling light has a projection which is a lid pivotally mounted to a housing base and to which the electrical components are attached. Then, during the insertion of the light housing, the lid, together with the electrical components, can be pivoted sufficiently far through a rectangular opening in a longitudinal side wall into the light housing.

Description

The invention relates to a recessed ceiling light for fluorescent tubes with a box-shaped, the lamp base with the sockets and the other electrical components for the at least one fluorescent tube-containing luminaire housing, into which a mirror arrangement of side longitudinal mirrors, optionally in connection with a luminaire housing on the side of the light outlet opening, terminating Mirror grid, can be used in which the lamp housing on a side longitudinal wall on the side of the housing base has a longitudinally extending groove-shaped bulge and in which in the storage space formed by the bulge of the side longitudinal wall, the adjacent housing base and the side longitudinal mirror present on this side the other electrical components for the at least one fluorescent tube.

The openings provided for recessed ceiling lights of the type mentioned above in false ceilings of buildings are generally predefined. The luminaire housing of a recessed ceiling light to be inserted into such an opening must therefore be adapted to these opening dimensions. With a low installation height, it can happen that the reflector arrangement to be inserted into the housing for certain light beam properties only makes it possible to accommodate additional electrical components, in particular the ballast, if additional storage space in the form of a bulge in a side longitudinal wall is created in the vicinity of the housing base of the luminaire housing. Such a bulge complicates the installation of the recessed ceiling light in the false ceiling, since it is not can be inserted vertically from below into the opening in the false ceiling. To insert the luminaire housing into the opening of the false ceiling, it must be tilted laterally in the longitudinal direction with its bulge first inserted into the opening and then completely inserted into the ceiling through the opening.

The invention has for its object to provide a further solution for a recessed ceiling light of the type mentioned, in which also the light housing for receiving the electrical components, in particular the ballast has a lateral bulge, but this bulge no complication for ceiling mounting brings.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features specified in claim 1.

The invention is based on the fact that, in modern recessed ceiling luminaires, a given luminaire housing can usually be optionally provided with different mirror arrangements, which can be easily inserted from below after the luminaire housing has been inserted into the associated opening in a false ceiling in the luminaire housing. When the luminaire housing is inserted into an associated opening in a false ceiling, there is sufficient space inside the luminaire housing for the other electrical components, in particular the ballast, apart from the lamp holders, as long as the mirror arrangement has not yet been introduced into the luminaire housing. This is now used in an extraordinarily advantageous manner in the invention in that the other electrical components fastened to a pivotable flap in a corresponding opening in a side wall are sufficiently far through the opening of the side longitudinal wall in when the lamp housing is inserted into the associated opening in a false ceiling the Luminaire housing can be swung in. As soon as the luminaire housing is fastened in the false ceiling, the flap with the other electrical components can be moved laterally outwards to a stop in a normal swivel position and locked there. Then the mirror arrangement can then be easily and quickly inserted into the housing from below through the light opening.

Appropriate embodiments of the subject matter according to claim 1 are specified in the dependent claims 2 to 9.

It is pointed out that from FR-A-1 520 786 a recessed ceiling lamp is known per se, which is equipped with organs for fastening the lamp to the ceiling, these organs during the insertion of the lamp into the associated opening in the ceiling an opening in the wall of the lamp can be swung into the lamp housing.

Diese Schlitze 3.21 geben dabei die Dreh- und Lagerpunkte für die Nasen 4.41 an den Dreharmen 4.4 ab.The box-shaped to be used in a predetermined opening 1 of a false ceiling 2, which in this case consists of support profiles 2.1 and ceiling panels 2.2 arranged between the support profiles 2.1 As shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, luminaire housing 3 has a trough-shaped bulge 4 on its left side longitudinal wall 3.1 in the region of the housing base 3.2. The trough-shaped bulge 4 is realized by a flap 4.1 which is pivotally mounted on the housing base 3.2 and fills an essentially rectangular opening 3.11. This flap 4.1 has a U-shaped cross section that is open towards the lamp housing 3 to accommodate the electrical components 5 attached to it. The flap 4.1 projects with its freely movable U-leg 4.2 through the opening 3.11 of the side longitudinal wall 3.1 into the luminaire housing 3 and has an angular profile with a leg end 4.21 angled toward the luminaire housing 3. The pivotable mounting of the flap 4.1 with its U-leg 4.3 shortened in length in relation to the freely movable U-leg 4.2 can be seen in the longitudinal side view of the lamp housing 3 according to FIG. 5. The shortened U-leg 4.3 of the flap 4.1 merges at its end on both sides into a rotating arm 4.4 with a nose 4.41 aligned against the housing bottom 3.2 and engages with its nose 4.41 in each case in a slot 3.21 in the housing bottom 3.2. These slots 3.21 give the pivot and bearing points for the lugs 4.41 on the pivot arms 4.4.

Anschließend kann dann die Leuchtstoffröhre 7 in die nicht näher dargestellten Sockel und die Spiegelanordnung, bestehend aus den Seitenspiegeln 6 und gegebenenfalls senkrecht hierzu angeordneten, in Fig. 3 lediglich angedeuteten Rasterlamellen, in das Leuchtengehäuse 1 eingesetzt werden.1, the luminaire housing 3 with its bulge 4 is in the opening 1 of the false ceiling 2 before it is used. The flap 4.1 with the ballast 5 is in turn in the normal pivoting position, in which the freely movable U-leg 4.2 bears with its angled leg end 4.21 on the side longitudinal wall 3.1. During the insertion process of the lamp housing 3 into the opening 1 of the false ceiling 2, the flap 4.1, as shown in FIG. 2, can be pivoted with the electrical components 5 in the direction indicated by the arrow through the opening 3.11 of the side longitudinal wall 3.1 inwards into the lamp housing 3 that the lamp housing 3 can be easily inserted through the opening 1 into the false ceiling 2. After inserting the lamp housing 3 in the false ceiling 2 accordingly Fig. 3, the flap 4.1 is pivoted back with the ballast 5 in the direction of the arrow shown in Fig. 3 in the normal pivoting position and locked there. The fluorescent tube 7 can then be inserted into the luminaire housing 1 into the base (not shown in more detail) and the mirror arrangement, consisting of the side mirrors 6 and, if appropriate, arranged perpendicularly thereto and shown only in FIG.

The flap 4.1 is expediently provided at both ends with an end cover. A preferred solution is shown in FIG. 4. This cover 8 is realized here with attachable plastic parts which are adapted to the cross-sectional dimensions of the flap 4.1. These plastic parts each have a spring catch 8.1 in the form of a resilient catch which, in the normal pivoting position of the flap 4.1, engages with its catch over the edge of the opening 3.11 in the side longitudinal wall 3.1. In order to be able to easily actuate the spring catch 8.1 after removing the mirror arrangement from the lamp housing 3 in order to cancel the catch, the resilient catch lugs have an extension 8.11 projecting beyond them.

Instead of attachable plastic parts, the end covers 8 can also be parts firmly connected to the flap 4.1, in particular sheet metal parts, which are provided with a spring catch in a manner similar to the plastic parts. Instead of the covers 8, each provided with a spring catch 8.1, the flap 4.1 can be held with the electrical components 5 in their normal pivoting position, for example, in that the flap with the angled leg end 4.21 of its freely movable U-leg 4.2 on the side longitudinal wall 3.1 a screw is attached.

The recessed ceiling light described can be used wherever the Opening dimensions in the false ceilings for the installation of such luminaires enforce width dimensions of the luminaire housing, which require special measures to accommodate the ballast.

Recessed ceiling light according to Claim 1, characterised in that the U-shaped cross-section of the lid (4.1) has on the side of its pivotable mounting on the housing base (3.2) a U-leg (4.3) which is shortened in comparison with the length of the freely moveable U-leg (4.2) which projects into the opening (3.11) of the longitudinal side wall (3.1), and in that the freely moveable U-leg has an angled profile with a leg end (4.21) which is angled towards the light housing.
  3. Recessed ceiling light according to Claim 1 or 2, characterised in that the lid (4.1) is provided at both ends with an end-side cover (8).
  4. Recessed ceiling light according to Claim 3, characterised in that the end-side covers (8) are components, in particular sheet-metal components, which are permanently attached to the lid (4.1).
  5. Recessed ceiling light according to Claim 3, characterised in that the end-side covers (8) are attachable synthetic components which are matched to the cross-sectional dimensions of the lid (4.1).
  6. Recessed ceiling light according to one of Claims 3 to 5, characterised in that the end-side covers (8) are each provided with a spring lock (8.1) for the releasable securing of the lid (4.1) in its normal pivot position, in which position the lid rests with the angled leg end (4.21) of its freely moveable U-leg (4.2) against the longitudinal side wall (3.1) of the light housing (3).
  7. Recessed ceiling light according to Claim 6, characterised in that the spring lock (8.1) is in each case a resilient locking lug which in the normal pivot position of the lid (4.1) engages over the edge of the opening (3.11) in the longitudinal side wall (3.1).
  8. Recessed ceiling light according to Claim 6 or 7, characterised in that the spring lock (8.1), which constitutes in each case a resilient locking lug, has for its actuation a projection (8.11) which extends beyond the locking lug and projects into the light housing (3).
  9. Recessed ceiling light according to one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that in order to secure it in its normal pivot position the lid (4.1) is releasably attached, for example with a screw, with the angled leg end (4.21) of its freely moveable U-leg (4.2) to the longitudinal side wall (3.1).
