Definitions
- the invention relates to a cartridge for expelling liquids under pressure, with a propellant charge chamber and a separating device arranged between the propellant charge chamber and a liquid chamber.
- Such a cartridge is used in a so-called water hammer, which is a cannon-like device.
- water hammer With such a water hammer, water columns are fired in order to loosen residual rock cores, for example, when building underground lines. It is particularly advantageous that this device avoids the otherwise usual, dangerous spark formation and uncontrolled flying around of fragments of rock when blasting.
- this water hammer in line jacking is carried out in such a way that a line jacking section of approximately 0.5 m to 1 m is first cut out semicircularly at the edge with the aid of a line profile cutting machine with high pressure water.
- the core of the line remains. Holes are then drilled in this core in a pre-calculated arrangement.
- the section core is now crushed with a water hammer, for which water is shot into the drilled hole at a high speed of about 1000 m / s. This creates pressures of several thousand bar in the borehole. The rock is crushed by this pressure surge.
- This cartridge has a cylindrical liquid chamber and a propellant charge chamber upstream of this chamber and separated by a separating device.
- the separating device is designed as a piston which bears against the inner wall of the chambers and has a cavity, the end face of which faces the liquid chamber has at least one predetermined breaking point.
- the tip of the cartridge is shaped like a nozzle.
- This cartridge which is formed from the propellant charge chamber, the separating element and the liquid chamber, is inserted into a launcher ready for firing, i.e. provided with propellant charge on the one hand and the liquid on the other. It is considered disadvantageous that the liquid is in the liquid chamber and consequently special measures are necessary to avoid the escape of liquid. In addition, there is the not inconsiderable increase in weight of such a cartridge.
- the sabot allows the separate supply or loading of the drive components, cartridge case with ignition, powder propellant charge, sabot body, front target element and the amount of liquid to be driven. This results in an overall compact design of the device and the cartridge.
- the drive components namely cartridge with sabot
- the cartridge chamber is closed and locked by the breech.
- the amount of liquid to be fired can simply be pumped through a radial bore in the weapon barrel and the use of a check valve between the two sabot body elements, the pressure of the liquid separating these two sabot body elements from one another at their connection point. This means that the end element in the gun barrel is moved forward to the barrel of the gun barrel and thereby lies on its outer circumference in a sealing manner against the inner circumferential surface of the gun barrel.
- a sabot 4 is used as a separating device between a propellant charge chamber 2 and a liquid chamber 3 as a separating device.
- this sabot 4 consists of a drive body 5 made of a plastic, for example polyamide, and the closure element 6 axially arranged on the head of the drive body 5.
- the drive body 5 of the sabot 4 consists both of FIG. 1 and of FIG Fig. 2 essentially from a cylindrical solid body, which has a front flat end face 7, from which a conically enlarged ring 8 connects to the rear.
- An equivalent-shaped ring 9 is located at the rear of the drive body 5, which further has through bores 10 provided parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sabot 4.
- the outer circumferential surface 11 of the rings 8 and 9 lies tightly against the inner circumferential surface 12 of the cartridge case 13 or the inner circumferential surface 14 of the barrel 15 under slight prestress.
- a central bore with a thread 16 is made in the front end face 7, into which a pin 17 with a predetermined breaking point 18 is screwed, which is located axially outside the drive body 5 of the sabot 4.
- the pin 17 carries the connecting element 6, which has a spherical or spherical end face 19 to which a cylindrically shaped part 20 connects.
- This cylindrically shaped part 20 corresponds in its outer diameter under slight prestress to the inside diameter of the gun barrel 15.
- the cylindrical part 20 can be slightly conical towards the rear open end, so that the sealing element abuts the inner circumferential surface 14 of the gun barrel with ease of delivery 15 takes place.
- FIG. 2 shows another type of sabot 4 with a closing element 21.
- the drive body 5 of the sabot 4 is designed in accordance with the sabot in FIG. 1. Instead of the positive connection of the closure element 6 with the drive body 5 in FIG. 1, in FIG. 2 there is a non-positive connection between the closure body 21 and the drive body 5.
- a blind bore 22 is made in the in turn flat end face 7 of the drive body 5.
- the in this case made of a polyurethane foam end body 21 has a rear central pin 23 which is pressed into the blind hole 22.
- the closing element 21 in this case according to FIG. 2 has a conical shape with a flat tip, slightly modified from the spherical or spherical end face.
- the annular space 3 between the outer surface 25 of the ring 8 and the closure element 6 or 21 represents an enlargeable liquid chamber which is connected to a radial inlet opening 26 of the weapon barrel 24.
- the entire cartridge consists of the sabot 4, which is inserted in the cartridge case 13 in the example of FIG. 3.
- the propellant charge chamber 2 with the necessary propellant charge 27 towards the rear end.
- the ignition element 28 forms the end in the cartridge case.
- a connecting element 21 is inserted non-positively in the front end of the sabot.
- This entire cartridge 1 is located in the cartridge chamber 29 of the weapon housing 30 with the breech, not shown here.
- the weapon barrel 24 is locked in the weapon housing 30 in a manner not shown.
- a check valve 31, which is connected to a hydraulic pump 32 by a pipeline 33, is arranged in the weapon barrel 24 at the essentially radial inlet opening 26.
- Another pipe 34 is located between a liquid container 35 and the hydraulic pump 32.
- the sabot 4 allows separate feeding and loading of the drive components, namely the cartridge case 13 with the ignition 28, the powder propellant charge 27, the drive body 5 and the front end element 21 or 6 and the liquid to be driven, for example water, from the container 35 to the liquid chamber 3.
- the drive components namely the cartridge case 13 with the ignition 28, the powder propellant charge 27, the drive body 5 and the front end element 21 or 6 and the liquid to be driven, for example water, from the container 35 to the liquid chamber 3.
- the entire loading process takes place as follows:
- the drive components are fed from the breech or a corresponding feed device into the cartridge chamber 29 of the weapon barrel 24.
- the cartridge chamber 29 is closed and locked on the back by the closure, not shown here.
- the amount of liquid to be shot is pumped through the inlet opening 26 of the weapon barrel 24 with the interposition of a check valve 31 by a hydraulic pump 32 into the annular chamber between the closing element 21 or 6 and the drive body 5 of the sabot 4. Due to the occurring liquid pressure, the end element 21 or 6 is axially separated from the drive body 5. In the case of the end element 21, the frictional force within the bore 22 is overcome, while in the case of FIG. 1 the predetermined breaking point 18 breaks due to the fluid pressure occurring.
- the closing element 21 or 6 Due to the liquid flowing in under pressure, the closing element 21 or 6 is now pushed forward in the gun barrel 14 while overcoming the external frictional force in the direction of the gun barrel muzzle.
- the cylindrical part of the end element 21 or 6 is in each case sealingly and under slight pressure on the inner surface 14 of the gun barrel 15. If the liquid supply is now stopped, there is no longer any pressure available for moving the closing element 21 or 6.
- This closure element 21 or 6 remains and thus forms the front seal of the liquid in the weapon barrel 24.
- the drive body 5 was held in place during the supply of liquid by the cartridge case 13 and forms the rear seal for the liquid.
- the entire device or the cartridge is ready to fire.
- this cartridge 1 is ignited, the drive body 5 of the sabot 4, the liquid column in front of the sabot 4 and the front end element 21 or 6 are driven out of the weapon barrel 24 by the polyvergas pressure. This takes place at a high speed of approx. 1000 m / s.
- the water is driven like a projectile above the sabot 4 by the pressure of the burning propellant 27.
- this so-called water hammer is used for tunneling in mining, this water column is shot into the drill holes in the core of the line. The very high pressure surge of several thousand bar crushes the rock within the core of the section.

Abstract
Description
Es zeigen: - Fig. 1 eine Ausführungsform eines Treibspiegels der Patrone im Schnitt;
- Fig. 2 eine weitere Ausführungsform eines Treibspiegels der Patrone im Schnitt;
- Fig. 3 eine komplette Patrone zum Austreiben von Flüssigkeiten unter Druck in einem Waffenrohr im Schnitt;
