Definitions

  • the invention relates to plastic frames for windows, doors or the like, with at least one frame spar consisting of a multi-chamber profile, which has an end face facing an adjacent spar of a second frame, from which projects a frame overlap that covers the gap between the two frames, and which has a metal stiffening profile that covers the end face of the frame spar and the gap-side frame rollover surface as an outer cover strip.
  • a plastic frame is known from DE 33 01 322 A1. Its stiffening profile is housed in a hollow chamber of the frame spar and stiffens it against bending.
  • the frame rollover which is also formed by a hollow chamber, is provided on the outside with a clamped sheet metal part and is therefore practically unstiffened. The consequence of this is that it can be deformed, bent or broken by force, so that the gap between the two bars is accessible and the break-in is thereby promoted. For example, locking or locking points are accessible and can be acted upon, so that the window or door can be opened as a result.
  • the well-known outer cover strip is made of flat material that has a thickening on one edge that has a circular cross section.
  • the flat material and the one-piece thickening jointly cover the end face of the frame spar and the thickening also covers part of the gap-side frame overlap area.
  • the cover is such that parts of the end face and the frame overlap remain uncovered.
  • the frame overlap can be manipulated and the covering by the outer cover strip is unsightly.
  • the outer cover strip is screwed to the frame rail. This screw connection also has the disadvantage that it represents an undesirable assembly effort per se.
  • a frame hollow profile for windows which has an insert piece filling part of the profile cavity in order to reinforce the frame hollow profile.
  • the insert is angular and consequently adapted to the cross section of the hollow frame profile.
  • This known angular insert is attached to the hollow frame profile by screwing.
  • the facing end faces of two frame spars are formed by the frame spar walls themselves. The inserts are practically invisible.
  • the invention has for its object to improve a plastic frame with the features mentioned above, which therefore has a protective cover against breaking open the plastic frame, with regard to its ability to be broken open, a handsome design to be achieved, combined with reduced assembly effort when assembling the frame with the cover strip.
  • the outer cover strip is L-shaped and its legs are fixed with fastening ribs in fastening grooves of the end face and the frame flap by means of a snap connection.
  • the outer cover strip stiffens the plastic frame in particular in the area of the frame flap or the fastening point of the frame flap on the end face of the frame spar. Due to its rigidity, the outer cover strip cannot be bent, or cannot be bent to such an extent that a break-in is easily possible. Already the insertion of a demolition tool into the frame gap is opposed by the cover strip, considerable resistance and is associated only with significant effort and with considerable noise, for example when driving in a demolition tool. Bending of the cover strip with the break-open tool is hardly possible and at most is successful at certain points, so that the gap or rollover of a frame as a weak point in the attempt to break open is practically eliminated.
  • the legs of the cover strip are with fastening ribs in fastening grooves on the end face and the flap of the frame determined by means of a locking connection. This ensures simple installation, so that the assembly effort is small.
  • the manufacturing effort for the fasteners is practically zero, since the fastening ribs can be produced together with the other parts of the cover strip by extrusion.
  • the fastening grooves in the frame spar are generally present anyway, so that a modification of the multi-chamber profile of the plastic frame is not necessary.
  • the long leg of the cover strip is expediently fastened to a middle seal holder of the frame spar, so that the entire end face of the frame spar is to be clad by this long leg of the cover strip.
  • the frame gap can be sealed in a conventional manner by means of a seal equivalent to the previous center seal, if the frame spars are not sealed against each other at another point.
  • the long leg of the cover strip has bolt or bolt penetration recesses on the inside of the frame. As a result, it enables the locking of a bolt or the engagement of a bolt in order to lock both frame bars against one another or to hold the window or door in the closed position.
  • the bolt or bolt penetration recesses are closed by an insert if they are not required. As a result, prefabricated bolt or bolt penetration recesses do not form any unsightly openings or starting points for breaking open.
  • the cover strip has water drainage openings in its corner area, so that rain or condensation water flowing in does not lead to undesirable congestion in the case of a lower horizontal frame spar, but can run off without any problems.
  • Such water drainage openings affect the stability the cover strip, since they are only provided at larger distances from each other.
  • the short angled leg lies flush with a gap on the frame overlap, which also increases the security against tampering. Such training is also very advantageous for the handsome appearance.
  • a sealing profile cooperating with the adjacent spar of the frame spar is arranged in order to seal the frame gap as close as possible to the outside of the frame.
  • An outer facing strip of the frame spar is fastened to the short fastening leg of the covering strip, so that the covering strip facilitates the assembly of the outer facing strip, which also simplifies the construction of the plastic frame.
  • At least the long leg of the cover strip is somewhat higher than the central seal retaining groove and is smooth on the end without protrusion. This results in complete coverage of the end face of the plastic frame.
  • the cover strip is provided on the gap side in the apex area and on its free end with considerable rounding radii, which reduces the risk of injury, for example when cleaning, and improves attention.
  • the invention is explained with reference to a single embodiment shown in the drawing.
  • the single figure shows a cross section through a vertical frame spar of a plastic frame.
  • the frame has two spars 10, 11, of which the second frame spar 11 is shown in dash-dotted lines only by its outer contour line adjacent to the frame spar 10.
  • the frame spar 11 is, for example, a vertical spar of a door leaf.
  • the frame spar 10 is arranged parallel to the frame spar 11 and, for example, a vertical frame spar, which with its outer end face 32 z. B. is plastered.
  • the frame spar 10 consists of a multi-chamber profile, in the main chamber 33 of which a stiffening profile 34 is attached in order to stiffen the frame spar made of plastic to the required extent.
  • the frame spar 10 has an outer chamber 35 and a frame flap 14, which also forms a hollow chamber 36.
  • the end face 12 of the frame spar 10 which faces the other frame spar 11, and this is a frame gap 13, the design of which is dependent on the different requirements to accommodate additional components in this area or in the areas of the wing spars adjacent to this gap, such as seals and fittings.
  • the end face 12 of the frame spar 10 has, in addition to the frame overlap 14 on the outside of the window, a holding projection 37 and between this and the overlap 14 two mutually facing L-shaped strips which enclose a center seal holder 21.
  • the frame flap 14 also has an undercut, namely T-shaped groove 20, into which a seal can be buttoned in order to seal the gap against wind and moisture.
  • An outer cover strip 15 which is L-shaped, is arranged in the gap 13. It is made of metal and has fastening ribs 19 on the frame spar side, with which it is fastened in the fastening groove 20 or in the holder 21.
  • the fastening ribs 19 are mushroom-shaped, that is, their largest diameter is somewhat larger than the entrance width of the fastening grooves 20 or the holder 21, so that the ribs 19 are fixed by means of a latching connection after they have been pressed into the grooves or grooves 20.
  • the outer cover strip 15 has a short leg 17, which covers the frame flap 14 on the gap side, and a long one Leg 16, which covers the remaining end face 12 of the frame spar 10 on the gap side.
  • the outer edge 27 of the cover strip 15 or the short leg 17 is angled, as shown, on the gap side and carries a sealing profile 28, namely a lip profile, the relatively hinged lip of which rests on a sealing surface 38 of the spar 11 and its bead or foot from the outer edge 27 the short leg 17 is held.
  • seal retaining groove 22 is arranged in the region of the long leg 16 between the middle seal holder 21 and the short leg 17.
  • the foot 40 of the seal 39 shown in dotted lines can be buttoned in, which corresponds with it Head is supported on the sealing surface 38 of the spar 11.
  • Both seals 28, 39 used alternatively, for example, are pressed against the sealing surface 38 when the wing is pivoted and are thus acted upon for sealing.
  • the gap 13 can also be sealed in another way, for example by means of a seal which is arranged in the region between the central seal retaining groove 22 and the free end 31 of the long leg 16 of the cover strip 15.
  • a seal which is arranged in the region between the central seal retaining groove 22 and the free end 31 of the long leg 16 of the cover strip 15.
  • the recess 23 shown in the figure is closed by an insert 24 because the opposite spar 11 has no locking or locking device here.
  • the outer surface of the cover strip 15 is smooth and the insert 24 sits firmly with its projections 41 in the recesses 42 of the long leg 16. If it is not required, it can be easily removed by removing the latching connection provided, for example. It is then possible, for example, to accommodate a lock or a bolt in the spar 11, which at Appropriate action through the bolt recess 23 and the end face 12 engages in a bolt pocket 43 shown in dashed lines.
  • the free end 31 of the long leg 16 engages behind the retaining projection 37 and connects flush to the outer surface of the frame spar 10 on the inside of the window. Furthermore, this end 31 is provided with a large radius, as is the angle apex 30. Furthermore, the long leg 16 is somewhat higher than the center seal holder 21, so that the strip 15 or its long leg 16 is smoothly formed on the gap side without a projection. This gives the frame spar a good appearance. The bar is easy to maintain in this area and has no edges that could cause injury.
  • a water drain opening 25 is also provided in the angle leg 30 in order to be able to drain off condensation water or rain water of a lower horizontal frame spar which has penetrated into the gap 13. The water flows through the water drain opening 25 and the drain openings of the frame flap 14 shown in the drawing in its chamber 36 or on the outside of the window.
  • a fastening point 13 is provided on the short leg 17 of the outer cover strip 15 in order to be able to fasten an outer facing strip 29 of the frame spar 10, for example by means of screwing.
  • the outer facing strip 29 consists, for example, of a metal anodized in a certain color, so that an appealing coloring can be achieved more easily and less expensively than if the plastic of the frame spar had to be colored.
  • the outer cover strip 15 stiffens the frame spar 10, in particular in the region of the frame flap 14, against deformations and damage, making it considerably more difficult will be able to drive a demolition tool into the gap 13 at all. If the mounting of the outer cover strip 15 by means of a snap-in connection is considered to be too problematic, an additional screw connection can also be provided, for example at the point in the seal retaining groove 22 marked 44, into which a fastening screw through the spar 10 does not impair the fastening of the seal 39 optionally screwed into the stiffening profile 34.
