Claims (4)

1. A can closed by a detachable lid, the can comprising a body (4) provided at his upper end (5) with an annular member (7) forming a toric rib (12) inwardly of the can, said lid (6) having an annular cavity (15) with a rounded base beneath its peripheral edge, said annular cavity being adapted to cooperate with the outer surface of the toric rib (12), and a circular groove (20) extending along the peripheral edge (19) and opening out in the upper face of the lid for serving as a housing for a locking and sealing ring (58) for the lid onto the can, characterized in that the locking and sealing ring (58) is formed with a lug or an annular rim housed in an annular recess provided in a wall (26) of said groove (20), the locking and sealing ring (58) having in its upper face a notch (59) intended for engagement by the end of a tool for causing said locking and sealing ring (58) to be lifted.
2. The can according to claim 1, characterized in that the groove (20) has walls (23, 29) widing out at the upper face of the lid.
3. The can according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the lid is formed with an annular channel (30) opening out in the lower face and extending within the outline of the groove (20).
4. The can according to claim 3, characterized in that the annular channel (30) includes radial ribs (57) which assist in providing stiffness to the lid rim.
