Definitions
- the present invention relates to a fluid dispenser head intended to be mounted on a fluid dispenser member, said head comprising a body defining a dispensing channel having a substantially axial inlet, open downwards and intended to be connected to the dispensing member, and a lateral outlet opening on an outer peripheral surface of the body, and an outer ring defining a dispensing orifice, the body being mounted in the ring so that the lateral outlet of the channel communicates with the orifice of distribution.
- a dispensing head may for example be used in the fields of perfumery, cosmetics or even pharmacy.
- US-A-5 385 303 discloses a fluid dispensing head comprising a body defining a dispensing channel and an outer ring whose upper part is closed.
- the crown is mounted on the body from above. When a user applies a pushing force up and down on the crown, this force will be directed indirectly to the valve by the body.
- GB-A-913 103 discloses a fluid dispensing head comprising a body defining a dispensing channel and an outer ring whose upper part is open.
- the crown is mounted on the body from above. When a user applies a pushing force up and down on the body, this force will be directed directly to the valve. During the application of this pushing force, the crown does not move relative to the container.
- Document FR-2 793 779 describes a dispensing head of this type.
- the crown is mounted on the body from above, or conversely the body is embedded in the crown from below. This does not ensure a high quality of fixation since a vertical thrust exerted up and down on the body allows to disengage the crown.
- this type of dispensing head which is often in the form of a pusher, the user applies a pushing force from top to bottom to actuate the dispensing member on which the dispensing head is mounted.
- the object of the present invention is to overcome this drawback of the prior art by defining a dispensing head whose attachment between the crown and the body is more reliable.
- the present invention proposes that the ring comprises stop means, the body defining a bearing surface in abutting contact with the abutment means, the body being axially insertable from above into the ring.
- the abutment means comprise an abutment flange on which the abutment surface abuts, said rim forming an abutment zone oriented substantially upwards, while the bearing surface is turned substantially downwards.
- the ring comprises a cylindrical inner wall in sealing contact with the outer peripheral surface of the body, the abutment means being located at the lower or upper edge of the cylindrical inner wall.
- the dispensing head comprises swirling means formed upstream of the dispensing orifice.
- the dispensing head may further comprise a trim band in which the crown and the body are mounted.
- the hoop comprises a substantially cylindrical skirt pierced with a lateral opening and an upper wall closing the skirt at its upper end, the ring comprising an external wall at which the dispensing orifice opens, the ring being disposed in the fret with the dispensing orifice positioned opposite the lateral opening.
- the hoop comprises locking means of the crown and the body inside the hoop.
- the outer wall of the crown is tightly engaged in the skirt of the hoop.
- the locking means may comprise at least one locking profile formed inside the skirt, the ring engaging with said at least one profile so as to prevent extraction of the ring out of the hoop, the body being thus locked between the crown and the upper wall of the hoop.
- the skirt comprises an inwardly hemmed lower edge, said edge defining a locking end facing upwards towards the upper wall.
- the dispensing head is a pusher type head which is pressed to actuate an underlying dispensing member such as a pump or a valve.
- the dispensing head is intended to be mounted on the upper end of an actuating rod and discharge which is part of the dispensing member.
- the dispensing member and its associated dispensing head may be mounted on or in an opening formed by a fluid reservoir.
- a dispensing head according to the invention can also be used for its sole distribution function without being associated with a push function.
- the pusher for actuating the dispensing member can be dissociated from the dispensing head.
- the dispensing head comprises a body 1, a ring 2 and a trim ring 3.
- the trim band is optional, but advantageous, particularly in the case where the dispensing head forms a pusher .
- the body 1 and the ring 2 can be made of plastic, while the trim band can be made of plastic or metal.
- the trim band 3 conventionally has no other function than an aesthetic function to hide the plastic structure not always perfect body and crown.
- the body 1 comprises a connecting sleeve 11 which extends downwards.
- the connecting sleeve 11 is open towards the bottom and internally defines a plugging receptacle 12 intended to receive the upper end of an actuating and discharging rod constituting a dispensing member, such as a pump or a valve.
- This casing housing 12 is extended upwards by an axial inlet 131.
- the inlet 131 extends radially to form a distribution channel 13 which opens out forming a lateral radial outlet 132 at a surface external device 15 of the body 1.
- the connecting sleeve 11 occupies a substantially central and axial position, while the distribution channel 13 extends radially from the axial center to the outer periphery of the body.
- the outer peripheral surface 15 is formed with several profiles or recesses at the outlet 132 of the distribution channel 13. These profiles and recesses form swirl channels and a central swirl chamber 161. These channels and this chamber can be formed only or partially by the body 1.
- the body 1 also comprises an upper face 14, which is here substantially planar, but formed with a recess 18 which can serve as orientation index when mounting the body 1.
- the body 1 forms an opposite bottom face in the middle of which the connecting sleeve 11 extends.
- the lower face forms directly below the outer peripheral surface 15 an abutment edge 16 which forms a bearing surface oriented downwards. .
- This bearing surface 17 may be continuous over the entire periphery of the edge 16, or formed by discrete segments.
- the ring 2 comprises a substantially cylindrical inner wall 21, a substantially cylindrical outer wall 22, an upper annular wall 25 and a lower annular wall 24.
- the inner wall 21 is perfectly cylindrical over most of its height from the upper wall 25.
- the inner wall 21 forms an abutment flange 26 defining an abutment zone 27 facing upwards.
- This abutment zone 27, just like the abutment surface 17, does not need to be flat: in fact, the zone 27 and the surface 17 can be inclined. For example, it is possible to provide a cone abutment contact on a cone.
- the inner wall 21 is however pierced by a dispensing orifice 23 which extends on the side of the outer wall 22 in the form of a diffusion cone 231.
- the dispensing orifice 23 is perfectly centered on the swirl chamber 161.
- the swirl chamber and its swirling channels Associated members constitute whirling means formed jointly by the body 1 and the crown 2.
- the channels and / or the swirl chamber may be jointly formed by the crown and the body or only one of them. It is easily understood that the final mounting position of the body 1 in the ring 2 is reached when the bearing surface 17 abuts the abutment zone 27. It is of course necessary that the outer peripheral surface 15 comes into sealing contact with the inner wall 21, particularly at the level where the distribution channel 13 opens and at the level of the swirl channels and the swirl chamber. Since the abutment zone 27 is generally oriented upwards while the bearing surface 17 is generally oriented downward, the insertion or assembly of body 1 in the ring 2 is carried out by engaging the body axially. from above in the crown 2.
- the body 1 By maintaining the ring 2 fixedly, the body 1 must be moved axially up and down in the ring 2.
- the orientation of the body 1 in the ring 2 is necessary in order to center the dispensing orifice 23 on the swirl chamber 161 This orientation can be effected by means of the recess 18 and the distribution cone 231.
- a dispensing head of the invention may consist solely of the two constituent elements that are the crown and the body.
- the dispensing head may comprise a trim band 3 in which the assembly formed by the body and the crown are inserted.
- the trim band 3 comprises an upper wall 31 which serves as a thrust surface on which a user applies one or more finger (s) of his hand to press the dispensing head, and thus actuate the underlying dispensing member.
- the trim band 3 also comprises a cylindrical skirt 32 which extends downwards from the outer periphery of the upper wall 31. This skirt 32 has a free annular bottom end 34. The skirt is advantageously pierced by a opening 35 which must be centered on the dispensing orifice 23.
- the skirt 32 comprises a substantially cylindrical inner wall 33.
- the internal diameter of this inner wall 33 is substantially equal to or slightly less than the outer diameter of the ring 2.
- any blocking means such as small notches 34 formed on or by the inner wall 33 of the hoop 3.
- These small notches 34 have a gentle slope followed by a straight edge in the manner of a harpoon.
- the insertion of the crown 2 in the hoop 3 is possible because of the gentle slope, and after passage of small notches 34, the lower wall 24 of the crown 2 is positioned just above the free edge of the small Notches 34.
- the ring 2 is permanently locked inside the band 3.
- These small locking notches 34 are optional, and the final fixing can be achieved by the only radial clamping of the ring 2 in the band 3.
- FIG. 2 shows an alternative embodiment, wherein (the trim ring 3 'is different from the trim band 3 of Figure 1) the body 1 and the ring 2 are slightly different to those of Figure 1.
- the crown may form a shoulder 26 'at the upper end of the inner wall 21.
- This shoulder also extends at the upper wall 25.
- This shoulder defines an abutment surface 27 'which is oriented generally upwards, as the abutment surface 27.
- the body can form a continuous flange or discrete flanges 16' which extend radially outwards with respect to the external surface 15.
- This flange or these flanges form (s) a bearing surface 17 'oriented generally downwards, as the bearing surface 17.
- abutment surfaces 27' can be implemented with or without the abutment surfaces 27 and support 17.
- the flange 26 is partially removed, but remains all the same on the side of the dispensing orifice.
- the shoulder 16 ' is not formed at the orifice.
- these surfaces 27 'and 17' have the same function as the surfaces 27 and 17, that is to say to limit the axial engagement by the upper body in the crown.
- the cylindrical skirt 32 'of the hoop 3' is here formed with a portion 36 hemmed or folded inwardly so that the end 35 'of the skirt is oriented upwards.
- this end 35 ' is located just below the lower wall 24 of the crown.
- This end 35 ' has the effect of locking the ring 2 in the band 3.
- the skirt has a reduced wall thickness at the hemmed portion 36.
- a small space is left between the skirt 32 'and its hemmed portion 36 so that the hemmed portion 36 can deform elastically radially outwardly during the passage of the crown 2.
- the hemmed portion 36 can again expand radially inward to permanently block the crown in the band 3'.
- the ring 2 is locked inside the band 3 ', which definitely wedges the body 1 between the ring 2 and the upper wall 31 of the band 3'.

Description
The present invention relates to a fluid dispenser head intended to be mounted on a fluid dispenser member, said head comprising a body defining a dispensing channel having a substantially axial inlet, open downwards and intended to be connected to the dispensing member, and a lateral outlet opening on an outer peripheral surface of the body, and an outer ring defining a dispensing orifice, the body being mounted in the ring so that the lateral outlet of the channel communicates with the orifice of distribution. Such a dispensing head may for example be used in the fields of perfumery, cosmetics or even pharmacy.
The crown is mounted on the body from above. When a user applies a pushing force up and down on the crown, this force will be directed indirectly to the valve by the body.
The crown is mounted on the body from above. When a user applies a pushing force up and down on the body, this force will be directed directly to the valve. During the application of this pushing force, the crown does not move relative to the container.
Document FR-2 793 779 describes a dispensing head of this type. The crown is mounted on the body from above, or conversely the body is embedded in the crown from below. This does not ensure a high quality of fixation since a vertical thrust exerted up and down on the body allows to disengage the crown. However, in this type of dispensing head which is often in the form of a pusher, the user applies a pushing force from top to bottom to actuate the dispensing member on which the dispensing head is mounted.
The object of the present invention is to overcome this drawback of the prior art by defining a dispensing head whose attachment between the crown and the body is more reliable.
To achieve this object, the present invention proposes that the ring comprises stop means, the body defining a bearing surface in abutting contact with the abutment means, the body being axially insertable from above into the ring. Advantageously, the abutment means comprise an abutment flange on which the abutment surface abuts, said rim forming an abutment zone oriented substantially upwards, while the bearing surface is turned substantially downwards. Preferably, the ring comprises a cylindrical inner wall in sealing contact with the outer peripheral surface of the body, the abutment means being located at the lower or upper edge of the cylindrical inner wall.
According to another aspect of the invention, the dispensing head comprises swirling means formed upstream of the dispensing orifice.
On the other hand, the dispensing head may further comprise a trim band in which the crown and the body are mounted. Advantageously, the hoop comprises a substantially cylindrical skirt pierced with a lateral opening and an upper wall closing the skirt at its upper end, the ring comprising an external wall at which the dispensing orifice opens, the ring being disposed in the fret with the dispensing orifice positioned opposite the lateral opening. Advantageously, the hoop comprises locking means of the crown and the body inside the hoop. According to one embodiment, the outer wall of the crown is tightly engaged in the skirt of the hoop. Additionally or alternatively, the locking means may comprise at least one locking profile formed inside the skirt, the ring engaging with said at least one profile so as to prevent extraction of the ring out of the hoop, the body being thus locked between the crown and the upper wall of the hoop. According to a practical embodiment, the skirt comprises an inwardly hemmed lower edge, said edge defining a locking end facing upwards towards the upper wall.
Thus, the body inserted in the crown from above is wedged between the ring and the crown which is itself locked inside the band. This forms an indémontable distribution head, since all the parts are mutually locked in position. This would not be the case with the dispensing head of the document of the aforementioned prior art.
The invention will now be more fully described with reference to the drawings giving as non-limiting examples two embodiments of the invention.
- FIG. 1 is a vertical cross-sectional view through a dispensing head according to a first embodiment of the invention, and
- Figure 2 is a view similar to that of Figure 1 for a second embodiment of the invention.
In both embodiments, the dispensing head is a pusher type head which is pressed to actuate an underlying dispensing member such as a pump or a valve. The dispensing head is intended to be mounted on the upper end of an actuating rod and discharge which is part of the dispensing member. The dispensing member and its associated dispensing head may be mounted on or in an opening formed by a fluid reservoir. However, a dispensing head according to the invention can also be used for its sole distribution function without being associated with a push function. In other words, the pusher for actuating the dispensing member can be dissociated from the dispensing head.
In both embodiments, the dispensing head comprises a
A dispensing head of the invention may consist solely of the two constituent elements that are the crown and the body. However, according to the invention, the dispensing head may comprise a
Thanks to the invention, there is obtained a two or three piece dispensing head which is particularly strong so as to withstand very high pressures.
