Claims (10)

1. Blocking device for a door constituted by an openable panel mounted opposite a door jamb and comprising an edge (1a) which, when the door is in closed position, is situated in facing relationship to a conjugate edge (2a) of the door jamb, (2) and which, when the door (1) opens, moves away from said edge in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of the door, characterized by the fact that it comprises essentially a bar (4) which extends along said edge (2a) of the door jamb, through most of the length thereof, and a formed section (5) for housing the bar (4), which formed section is fast with said latter edge (2a) and is so shaped as to prevent the bar from moving perpendicularly to the plane of the door (1) in closed position, while allowing it to move, with only a small amount of friction, under the control of an actuating mechanism, according to a translatory movement in parallel to itself, between a blocking position (I) in which it emerges laterally from the formed section (5) to overlap the gap between the said edges (1a, 2a), and a releasing position (II) in which it retracts into the formed section (5) while uncovering said gap and, permitting as a result, the opening of the door, the bar (4) being equipped with means for returning it to the blocking position, so that the actuating mechanism drives the bar against the restoring force to bring it in the releasing position (II), and a locking device comprising a blocking member (35) which is adapted to be placed in an active position in which it locks the bar in the blocking position (I), or in an inactive position in which the bar is released, said locking device being so designed that its blocking member has been priorly placed in inactive position by the bar actuating mechanism when said mechanism operates to drive the bar (4) to its releasing position (II).
2. Device according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the blocking member is preferably equipped with return means (37) which, when the bar returns to the blocking position (I), replaces it automatically in active position.
3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized by the fact that means (17) are provided for guiding the bar in the formed section (5) which means create a gap (45) between at least one (5a) of the walls of the formed section (5) and the opposite face (4a) of the bar (4), the blocking member is constituted by an elongated flat rod (35) which extends through substantially the whole height of the bar (4) and which can pivot of a small angle about one (35a) of its longitudinal edges, applied against the bottom (5c) of the formed section (5), between an inactive position in which it is retracted in said gap (45), leaving the bar (4) free to move, and an active blocking position in which its second longitudinal edge is placed behind the bar in blocking position, (I) thereby blocking said bar by a bracing function between the bottom (5c) of the formed section (5) and the rear face (4c) of the bar (4).
4. Device according to claim 3, characterized by the fact that, the bar (4) actuating mechanism controlling the bar displacements by means of a movable member (16) adapted to come and exert a pressure on the front face (4d) of the bar in order to drive the latter back toward the bottom of the formed section, the pivoting movement of the flat rod (35) from its active position to its in active position is controlled by a lever (38) bent substantially at right angle, and said lever which is pivotable about an axis (AA) joined to the bar (4) and parallel to the bar longitudinal direction, comprises a first arm (38a) of which the end is contiguous to the second edge of the flat rod and a second arm (38b) of which the end is interposed between the front fare (4d) of the bar (4) and the movable member (16) actuating said bar, in order that said member, when moving to drive the bar (4) to its releasing position (II), causes first the bent lever (38) to pivot, which lever then controls, by the end of its first arm (38a), the pivoting movement of the flat rod (35) toward its retracted position.
5. Device according to claim 4, characterized by the fact that the first arm (38a) of the bent lever (38) traverses the bar (4) through an orifice provided in its front face (4d) and having a cross-section hardly larger than that of said arm, said orifice being near the arm pivoting axis (WA), and through an orifice (40) provided in its rear face (4c) and being wide enough to allow the pivoting movements of the bent lever (38).
6. Device according to claim 5, characterized by the fact that the second arm (38b) of the bent lever (38) is wider, in the longitudinal direction of the bar (4), than the first arm and connects up with the latter by way of a pair of symmetrical shoulders (38c) by which the bent lever (38) rests against the front face (4d) of the bar (4), on either side of the orifice (39) provided in said face.
7. Device according to any one of claims 4 to 6, characterized by the fact that the second arm (38b) of the bent lever (38) is oriented in the direction (34) of the door opening movement.
8. Device according to any one of claims 4 to 6, characterized by the fact that the second arm (38b) of the bent lever (38) is oriented in the direction of the door closing movement.
9. Device according to any one of claims 4 to 8, characterized by the fact that an obstacle (42) is provided close to the end of the second arm (38b) of the bent lever, (38) in order to close the access to the face of the latter situated opposite the bar (4) when said bar is in blocking position (I).
10. Device according to any one of claims 4 to 9, characterized by the fact that a second movable member (24) is provided for driving the bar (4) and that the second arm (38b) of the bent lever is so dimensioned that it can be driven by either one of the two actuating members.
