- a carriage 2 which can move vertically on the column and which supports drive means constituted by a motor 3, a system of transmission with pulleys 15 and 16 and belt 17 driving a horizontal shaft 18 at the end of which is mounted a rubberized pulley 4.
- This pulley is used to rotate one of the two coils 5 which are mounted on the frame 10.
- the sleepers 19 each carry two carriages 20 provided with an end bearing so as to carry two pairs of rollers 13 which are parallel in pairs and which are mounted on the sleepers 19.
- the carriages 20 (fig. 3) can be moved along the sleepers 19 so that the spacing between the rollers 13 of each pair can be changed at will. This allows to supp orter on the rollers 13 coils 5 of different diameters.
- fig. 3 we see in phantom a roller 13 which is placed as close as possible to the median axis of the device and the diameter of the cheek of the corresponding coil 5. With a spacing of the rollers as shown in solid lines there is the maximum diameter of the coils.
- coils having cheek diameters ranging from 900 mm to 2,800 mm can be wound.
- the rollers 13 have at one end one or two circular flanges 21 for locating the coil by one of its cheeks.
- Each roller 13 consists of three coaxial segments of the same diameter 22, 23, 24 mounted on a common shaft, which makes it possible to compensate for variations in diameter of the cheeks of the coils.
- the frame 10 makes it possible to support two coils of the same diameter or of different diameters which are arranged in tandem with their parallel cheeks.
- the four rollers 11 which support the frame 10 are oriented 90 ° from each other and rotate on their horizontal axes so that the only possible movement of the frame 10 is a rotational movement about an axis 29 which coincides with the center of the circle defined by the points of contact of the rollers 11 with the ground.
