Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fitting for an all-glass wing of a door or a window, the upper and / or lower edge of which is held between clamping plates which are clamped against one another by means of clamping screws, a transverse web made of corrosion-resistant material being arranged between the clamping plates and forming a pivot bearing Covered insert, which is held with horizontal fastening screws, and wherein the clamping plates have recesses for mounting the insert.
  • threaded holes are not very durable in the light metal.
  • Manufacturing the fitting from brass or a comparable metal alloy also requires very large material thicknesses. This would make a fitting, like a generic fitting made of stainless steel, disproportionately expensive.
  • the object of the invention is to design a fitting for an all-glass wing so that it is largely corrosion-resistant with a relatively low cost of material.
  • the clamping plates consist of stainless steel sheet and have a flanged edge and that the crossbar has threaded holes for the horizontal fastening screws of the insert.
  • the clamping plates are made of a high-quality material, namely stainless steel.
  • they consist of a relatively thin-walled sheet metal, which is provided with a peripheral flanged edge to increase stability.
  • Clamping plates of this type are able to absorb the clamping forces that occur.
  • the crossbar which is arranged between the clamping plates and clamped between them, can in contrast consist of a low-quality, but corrosion-resistant material. In particular, it can consist of aluminum.
  • the insert can also be fastened to it, because it is also regularly and positively supported on the crosspiece.
  • the fastening screws screwed into the threaded holes in the crossbar only transmit holding forces, but no supporting forces.
  • the corrosion resistance of the fitting is improved if threaded sleeves made of stainless steel connect to the clamping plates and extend through the crosspiece to the other clamping plate. This means that the clamping screws screwed into the threaded sleeves are largely protected against corrosive stresses.
  • the threaded sleeves can extend through assigned access holes in the clamping plates, so that the threaded pins of the clamping screws can be screwed into them almost completely.
  • threaded sleeves which have a collar on one side with which they are supported on the side of the clamping plate facing away from the crosspiece. Provided that the collars are positively supported on the threaded sleeve, then the threaded sleeves do not need to be attached to their clamping plates. However, if you want to keep the number of parts of the fitting low during storage, transport and assembly, it is advisable to attach the threaded sleeves to their clamping plate by brazing or welding.
  • the fitting shown includes two clamping plates I, 2, which are made of stainless steel sheet and have a flanged edge 3 to improve their stability.
  • the inside of the clamping plates I, 2 are covered with a friction lining 4.
  • the all-glass door leaf, not shown, and a crosspiece 5, which is arranged in a corresponding recess in the all-glass door leaf, are clamped between the clamping plates I, 2.
  • the clamping plates I, 2 are clamped against one another with clamping screws 6, 7, 8, which are screwed into threaded sleeves 9, 10, II of the respective other clamping plate.
  • the threaded sleeves 9, 10, II are also made of stainless steel and have a collar 12 on one side, with which they rest on the side of their clamping plate facing away from the crosspiece 5. Otherwise, the threaded sleeves 9, 10, II extend through assigned through bores 13 of the clamping plates I, 2 and through bores 14 of the crossbar 5.
  • the threaded sleeves 9, 10, II and / or their collars 12 are through on their assigned clamping plates I and 2, respectively Brazed attached.
  • the crossbar 5 consists of a light metal alloy, in particular aluminum alloy. In addition to the through bores 14, it has through threaded bores 15 into which pins (not shown) are screwed. The tool attachment of these pins is accessible through holes 16 in the clamping plate I. On the side facing the other clamping plate 2, the crosspiece 5 has projections 17 with which it is supported on this clamping plate 2. The studs in the threaded holes 15 are also supported with their feet on the clamping plate 2. By adjusting the studs in the threaded holes 15, the clamping plate 2 can be pivoted about the projections 17 and brought into a position parallel to the clamping plate I.
  • the crossbar 5 has a continuous recess 18 for an insert 19, which is designed as a pivot bearing.
  • the insert 19 is essentially supported in a form-fitting manner in the recess 18 and held on the crossbar 5 with fastening screws 20, which has threaded bores 21 for this purpose.
  • the threaded holes 21 of the crosspiece 5 are continuous, so that the insert 19 can be attached to each side of the crosspiece 5.
  • the threaded holes 21 and the fastening screws 20 are accessible through recesses 22 and 23 of the clamping plates I and 2. As shown, these recesses 22, 23 are so large that they leave both the recess 18 and the threaded holes 21 on the crosspiece 5 free .
  • the clamping plates I, 2 of the assembled fitting are covered with cover caps 24, 25.
  • the cover caps are also made of a corrosion-resistant material, e.g. made of thin-walled aluminum sheet. They are held by spring assemblies 26, which are arranged on the outside of the clamping plates I, 2 and each have a pin 27 supported on the spring, which penetrates an associated recess 28 in the edge 3 of the clamping plate I or 2 and in an associated opening 29 in the Edge of the relevant cap 24 or 25 borders.
  • crosspiece 5 By changing the crosspiece 5, e.g. When choosing a cross section of different thicknesses - also by adding or removing solid metal plates - mounting is possible with 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm or even 14 mm thick glass sheets, whereby the thickness of the insulating intermediate layers remains unchanged at the constant contact pressure of the clamping and clamping surfaces take over.
  • the use for all known glass cutouts and processing is possible because the crosspiece can be changed quickly and easily and therefore can be provided for both angular and elliptical glass processing.
