Definitions

  • the present invention relates to street furniture whose primary purpose is the commercial exploitation of its display media, bright or not, for advertising posters of Om40 X Om60 for example.
  • This furniture consists of a main body resting on a support base. This body has two built-in planters at the top. This body contains at least one container intended to receive objects and accessible by a wide door. This body comprises on each of its four faces, a display panel, bright or not, constituting an advertising poster support. The door forming one of the poster support faces.
  • This body is surmounted by an upper volume, two faces of which each support a display panel, whether or not luminous, for an advertising poster. The other faces each have at least one orifice through which the objects to be received in said furniture are introduced. Said upper volume is itself topped by a roof with inclined sides.
  • the upper part may form, in one case, a receptacle for used newspaper baskets, one of the faces of which supports the poster, which can be opened for the installation and removal of a receptacle tray bearing on the bottom of the said upper part and in that the container of the lower body is a container forming a bin, fed by two openings arranged in the horizontal upper part of said body.
  • the upper part of this furniture forms a letter box, one of its faces having a large opening intended to receive large format mail and the other opposite face having two openings for mail, for example local and national.
  • This upper part communicates at its bottom with the body and internally comprises a vertical partition parallel to the faces provided with openings for the different couriers and extending as far as the lower part to divide the furniture in two; one of the halves located on the side of the two openings being itself provided with a partition perpendicular to the first to subdivide it again into two parts in the upper part only.
  • the body is internally provided with means for holding three bags recovering the different selected couriers. These bags will be suspended and placed under the openings, inside the body at the height of the upper part of this body. There will be two bags side by side, on the side of the two holes and a large bag on the "printed" side.
  • planters are arranged on two opposite sides of the body on either side of the upper volume and on the sides corresponding to the faces carrying the openings of the upper volume.
  • this furniture can be made of high-strength reinforced polyester but can however be made of other materials. This furniture will be connected to public lighting as regards the electrical part in the case of a luminous display panel.
  • FIG. 1 This present furniture is described by a perspective view in Figure 1 and by a Figure 2 which shows a simple profile which highlights the basket of newspapers 12 and its protection 13.
  • the perspective view of Figure 1 represents the different parts constituting the set that we will call 1.
  • the base 2 which has a diameter greater than the distance separating the external faces of the block delimiting the planters 5. This feature allows it to ensure perfect stability. In addition, the gentle slope of this base ensures easy drainage of water and prevents stagnation of moisture under the furniture.
  • the body 3 proper, the shapes of which may be different. In the case of the model presented it is parallelepiped but it can be cylindrical or of another shape. In all cases, the originality of this body consists in grouping on its upper face two planters 5 embedded parallel and two openings 6 also mounted in parallel, rectangular intended for the throwing of waste. These openings will each be hidden by a pivoting cover, marked “Papers” that each user must raise before pouring an object, by means of a handle provided for this purpose 14, these covers have an obvious hygiene function. The waste will be collected in a bin 7 placed inside the body 3 and accessible by a locked door 8. To empty it, simply remove the bin from the passenger compartment and throw its contents in the dumpster, the key to the door being given to the responsible departments.
  • This tray will have a width slightly greater than that of each of the openings marked “Papers” and a length which will have at least the distance which separates the two outer ends of these openings.
  • the planters 5 on their underside, as well as the lower part of the body 3, will have several perforations which will ensure the evacuation of the overflow of rain water or watering.
  • On this body 3 will be installed in parallel, two by two, four luminous support panels or not, for advertising posters of regulatory dimensions, currently Om40 X Om60, one panel per side.
  • the upper part 4 composed by two faces 9, 10 mounted parallel and perpendicular to the plane of the upper part of the body 3 on a slight elevation 15. These two faces are interconnected so that the assembly constitutes a receptacle forming newspaper basket 12, the obvious utility of which is described below.
  • This basket will be covered at a sufficient height allowing the easy recovery of old newspapers by a protection with two planes slightly inclined each towards each opening and overflowing outside on either side of the widest part of this basket, this which will prevent water from getting inside and therefore from wetting these logs.
  • the use of this basket 12 will be specified by the mention "Journals”.
  • On these two parallel faces 9, 10 will also be installed support panels, light or not, of advertising posters of the same dimensions as those installed on the body 3.
  • the planters 5 are installed on the two smaller sides of the body 3.
  • the two largest faces of the basket 12 are panel supports for advertising posters and support a roof 13 which is a protective cover for this basket 12. This roof 13 is with two inclined sides projecting above the planters 5.
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 The embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 3 and 4 is distinguished by a roof 13 with a four-sided pyramid shape with a slight slope with a straight edge 22, but which can take any peripheral shape, ending in a notch called "drop" of water.
  • This roof 13 covering and closing, in the case of Figures 3 and 4, an upper volume 4 constituting a basket 12 with newspapers containing a receptacle bin 16 provided with a handle and accessible by means of a door 25 which opens with a key identical to that of door 8 which can also be supplied to humanitarian organizations.
  • This door 25 will be on the same plane as the lower part of this basket 12.
  • the base 2 has an equal rectangular shape, but which can be greater than the sides of the body 3, which makes it possible to ensure perfect stability at furniture.
  • This base 2 can either be simply placed on the ground after having been ballasted, or be fixed to the ground by means of a fixing system such as for example four nuts which are completely integrated in the interior part of this base 2, the closed upper part will also include fixing systems penetrating inside the body 3 which will thus come to bear on the base 2.
  • the advantage of such a reinforced plastic structure is that this one in the lower part of the base 2 can be cut to fit this furniture for sloping streets.
  • the openings 6 which have a slight slope inclined towards the outside of the body 3 have, as the case may be in FIGS.
  • a cover 26 provided with return springs.
  • This cover 26 will no longer have the handle 14 illustrated in the case of FIGS. 1 and 2 and will constitute an overflow shutter with an obvious hygiene function.
  • the container 7 will be provided with a handle which will allow it to be easily pulled outside and to be hoisted manually and mechanically to empty it from its content in the dumpster.
  • planters 5 constituted by tanks with water reserve which are fixed in a receptacle location forming part of the mass of the body 3; a clip system allows the locking or unlocking of the water reserve tank from inside the body 3 to oppose the theft of these planters 5.
  • the receptacle location on the planter 5 has an orifice connected to a pipe to evacuate the overflow of water to the lower part of the body outside on the base 2.
  • the upper part or volume 4 of the body 3 is in the form of a fully closed parallelipedic shape with two openings 17 projecting from each of the faces 20, 21 for the jet of newspapers.
  • These openings 17 have a fixed part 19 on which can be put the coat of arms of the city and a movable part 18 to be raised upwards so as not to encourage the throwing of waste and which will be marked "Newspapers".
  • This movable part 18 acts as a protective cover against rain or sprinkling water in particular.
  • the interior bottom of the basket 12, along the faces 20, 21 will comprise, to promote the evacuation of water which may possibly infiltrate through the access ports 17, a pipe acting as a gutter as far as the lower part of the body 3 on the base 2.
  • FIG. 5 illustrates the furniture used as a letter box according to a first embodiment.
  • the base 2 and body 3 parts are similar to those described in FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the upper part of the body 3 has no openings 6.
  • the letter box 12 which fits between the two planters over the entire width of the body 3 is fixed by screws, in places provided for this purpose, in the upper part of the body 3.
  • This letter box 12, for public use, is of sufficient height so that its two most each can support a support panel for advertising posters.
  • This letter box will be protected by a roof 13 with two inclined sides, the edges of which will exceed sufficiently the four faces of this letter box so that the access ports for letters for example, for Paris and the Paris region 26 , for province 27, placed on one of the two narrower sides of this letter box are well protected from rain and sprinkling water.
  • the access port 28 intended for the reception of printed matter and large envelopes, placed on the face opposite to that of the access ports 26, 27 will also be protected by the roof 13.
  • the access ports 26, 27 , 28 will have on their outside part, facing the public, around their entire periphery, an overflowing part which will prevent water from entering inside.
  • the access vents will have an opening angle which, due to the inclination of the roof sections, should still facilitate the mailing process.
  • this mailbox will be divided, in its widest sense, that is to say, parallel to the access ports 26, 27, 28 vertically into two compartments.
  • a compartment thus formed, connected to the outside by the access mouth 28 will be reserved, thanks to its large volume for large prints and envelopes.
  • This compartment is accessible and emptied by a door placed under the access port 28, the other compartment, located on the side of the access ports 26, 27 is itself divided in two so as to make two new compartments for making the distinction between, mail intended for example in Paris and the Paris region, connected to the outside by the access port 26 and mail intended for the province connected to the outside by the access port 27.
  • These two compartments will be accessible by the same door.
  • FIG. 6 The embodiment illustrated in Figures 6, 7, 8 is distinguished by a roof 13 of shape and characteristics identical to those illustrated in Figures 3, 4. This embodiment is also distinguished by the fact that the opposite faces are 9 , 10 which become poster supports, luminous or not, for Om40 X Om60 advertising posters for example, while the face 20 illustrated in FIG. 7 has two access ports 26, 27, for example for Paris and Region mail Parisian and for province mail, and the face 21 illustrated in FIG. 6 has a large access port 28 for large format mail. According to another characteristic, illustrated in FIG.
  • the upper part 4 which communicates at its bottom with the body 3 internally comprises a vertical partition 23 parallel to the faces provided with the openings and extending as far as the lower part 3 to divide the furniture into two, one of the half located on the side of the two openings being itself provided with a partition perpendicular to the first to subdivide it again in the upper part 4 into two parts.
  • the body 3 is internally provided with rod-type holding means 29, with three bags 7 ′, 7 ′′, 7 ′′ ’which collect the different selected couriers. These bags will be suspended on these rods 29 by means of hooks 30 and placed under the orifices of the body 3 at the height of the upper part of this body 3. There will be two bags 7 ', 7 "side by side, on the side of the two orifices 26, 27 and a large bag 7 "'on the side of the large access mouth 28.
  • This furniture which therefore has a utility vocation (waste or mail collector), ecological and decorative (planters, cleanliness), social (recovery of newspapers, easy mail jet) also has a safety vocation since it can participate in the street lighting caused by the illumination of its six advertising faces when they are planned to be bright.
  • This furniture the primary purpose of which is the rental of the six advertising spaces, is intended, in agreement with the authorities concerned, to be placed on the streets or in certain private places.
