Abstract

A sliding door that has at least one sliding panel fixable in a locked position, and a folding panel connected by hinges to the sliding panel or to the outermost of several sliding panels. Each sliding panel is supported on a floor track by rolling supports and is guided in a ceiling track by lateral guiding rollers. In this ceiling track is provided at least one downwardly projecting abutment section disposed above the upper end plane of a lateral guiding roller or the mounting for this roller projecting beyond same. This mounting can have a ball-shaped head or a freely rotatably supported ball.

Description

The invention relates to a sliding door with at least one sliding wing which can be fixed in at least one locking position and a pivoting active wing which is connected to the or one of the sliding wings by pivoting bars, each sliding wing being supported on a floor rail via two rolling support bodies and guided in a ceiling rail via two lateral guide rollers.

In such sliding doors, which may consist essentially of glass, wood or other materials, it is known to provide a walkway that can be opened in the manner of a door by pivoting. This active leaf is then carried by swivel wings by a sliding leaf, which is supported on a floor rail. The sliding sash is guided on the side via upper side guide rollers.

The active leaf always represents an asymmetrical load on a sliding leaf, which generally tends to tilt. In order to counteract this, the width of the active leaf has so far been made smaller than the width of the load-bearing sliding leaf. This reduces the tendency to tip over. However, it inevitably follows that such a sliding door then has leaves of different widths, as is generally not desirable optically.

In the previously known sliding doors of the type mentioned at the outset, the asymmetrical loading of the sliding wing supporting the active leaf requires a door closer for the active leaf to be accommodated in the floor below the sliding door in a correspondingly large cavity. It is then necessary to establish the connection to the door closer arranged in the floor after moving the active leaf and the supporting sliding leaf. This alone requires considerable assembly effort.

Particular problems arise with the known sliding doors of the type mentioned at the outset, however, when they are to be subsequently used in an existing building. Then it is often no longer possible to accommodate a door closer in the floor. In any case, the accommodation of a door closer with the known sliding doors requires considerable preparatory work.

The object of the present invention is now to be seen in the case of a sliding door of the type mentioned in the introduction to reliably rule out tilting of the sliding leaf which carries a active leaf.

This object is achieved according to the invention in a sliding door of the type mentioned in the introduction in that at least one downwardly projecting counter bearing section is provided in the ceiling rail, which section is arranged directly above the upper end plane of a side guide roller or the above-mentioned holder of this roller.

A side guide roller, namely the one that is furthest away from the active leaf, not only assumes a side guide function, but is also supported in the desired locking position on the counter bearing section. It prevents this sliding sash from performing a tilting movement according to its asymmetrical load. The counter-bearing section expediently has a flat surface that gradually drops towards its ends.

Since tilting movements of the load-bearing sliding sash are excluded in this way, the asymmetrical loading of this sliding sash is no longer critical. There is therefore no longer any need to make the active leaf narrower than the load-bearing sliding leaf. There is no longer any special reason to reduce the weight of the active wing.

In addition, such a counter bearing section can be easily retrofitted into existing sliding doors.

According to a further proposal, the sliding door according to the invention can be designed such that the holder of the side guide roller has a spherical head which projects upwards above the side guide roller. This improves cooperation with the counter bearing section.

According to a further proposal, the sliding door according to the invention can be designed so that the holder of the side guide roller has a freely rotatably supported ball. The movement of the sliding sash can thus be further facilitated in the area of the counter bearing section.

According to a further proposal, the sliding door according to the invention can be designed in such a way that a floor connector serving for locking is provided on the sliding wing supporting the active wing. Such a floor plug, for which a hole or sleeve can be provided in the floor area, enables the sliding door to be locked in one position or else in several positions with simple means.

According to a further proposal, the sliding door according to the invention can be designed such that a holder which locks the active leaf parallel to the sliding leaf is provided on the sliding leaf supporting the active leaf. To move the sliding door, it is expedient and simple to lock the active leaf parallel to the load-bearing sliding leaf.

According to a further proposal, the sliding door according to the invention can be designed such that the holder engages in an opening in a lower fastening rail of the active leaf.

According to a further proposal, the sliding door according to the invention can be designed in such a way that a door closer sits on the active leaf and is connected to the sliding leaf by means of a rotary bracket.

The considerable weight of a door closer, which can be any door closer available on the market, can be absorbed by this sliding door without tilting the sliding leaf. The door closer can therefore be fixed on the active leaf. This leads to considerable ease of assembly.

Finally, another proposal provides that the sliding door according to the invention can be designed so that the door closer is connected to the upper pivot of the sliding leaf.

With this arrangement, the door closer is least in the way. It is easily accessible for assembly and maintenance.

  • Fig. 2 einen Haltezapfen für eine Seitenführungsrolle.
In the following part of the description, an embodiment of the sliding door according to the invention is described with reference to drawings. It shows:
  • Fig. 1 is a side view of a sliding door according to the invention with a sliding leaf and a active leaf and
  • Fig. 2 shows a holding pin for a side guide roller.

The sliding door shown in the figures has a sliding leaf 1 with a glass pane 2, a lower fastening rail 3 and an upper fastening rail 4. A spherical supporting body 5 is supported near the ends of the lower fastening rail 3. These support bodies 5 are supported on a floor rail 6.

A holding pin 7 is arranged near the two ends of the upper fastening rail 4 of the sliding sash 1. A side guide roller 8 sits on each of these holding pins 7. The side guide rollers 8 run in an approximately inverted U-shaped ceiling rail 9 and support the sliding sash 1 in its vertical position.

The ceiling rail 9 has a base wall 10 with a downwardly projecting counter bearing section 11. This forms a flat counter bearing surface in its central region, which is gradually returned to the inner surface of the base wall 10 at both ends.

In the rightmost side guide roller 8 in FIG. 1, the holding pin 7 projects upwards over this roller. It has a spherical head 12 here. This head 12 comes to rest on the flat surface of the counter bearing section 11 or is only slightly below it.

On the lower mounting rail 3, a floor plug 13 is also fixed, which can be raised and inserted into a guide hole (not shown). Furthermore, an up and down movable holder 14 with a hook-shaped end 15 is provided on the lower fastening rail 3.

At the ends of the lower fastening rail 3 and the upper fastening rail 4 shown on the left in FIG. 1, a rotary bracket 17, 18 is fastened in the usual manner.

The lower swivel 17 and the upper swivel 18 carry a active leaf 19 which can be designed and dimensioned like the sliding leaf 1, but does not carry any supporting bodies 5 and no side guide rollers 8.

The active leaf 19 also has a lower fastening rail 20 and an upper fastening rail 21. At one end of the lower fastening rail 20 there is a rotary bracket 22 which is hingedly connected to the lower rotary bracket 17 of the sliding wing 1.

Above the rotary bracket 22, a door closer 23 of a conventional type is fixed to the upper fastening rail 21 and cooperates with the upper rotary bracket 18 of the sliding leaf 1 in a conventional manner.

Near the end of the lower fastening rail 20 shown on the left in FIG. 1, it is provided in the usual way with a bottom lock 24 and with a continuous elongated hole 25. The hook-shaped end 15 of the holder 14 can engage in this elongated hole 25 when the active leaf 19 is pivoted into a position parallel to the sliding leaf 1.
