Abstract

The device has a container (13) for the extinguishing means, a pressurised gas cylinder (15) and associated fittings (20) which are arranged together in a housing which can be opened. The housing, together with the associated substructure, is now to be constructed as a compact unit and such units are to be stacked easily in a close arrangement adjacently or one above the other, simple transportation being provided by means of suitable handling equipment, in particular also for the stacking. For this purpose, the housing is essentially a cuboid container (1) having a self-supporting frame (2) which has a bottom (8) which can be gripped from below between feet (2) and stacking devices (23, 24; 31, 32). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a portable fire extinguisher of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1.

Transportable fire extinguishers of this type are known, which can either be arranged stationary or are equipped with a chassis, in which the extinguishing agent container, the compressed gas bottle and the other fittings are arranged on a substructure and in which the housing to be opened is designed as a hood that overlaps the substructure on the top is. A disadvantage of these known designs is the bulky shape, which makes a space-saving arrangement of several such devices next to one another or one above the other impossible. In particular, the hood is not designed as a resilient part and usually has the shape of a domed dome, which is completely unsuitable as a support.

In many cases, however, there is a need for such portable fire extinguishers to be as close as possible to accommodate order, for example, to transport them on a truck or in a warehouse, as well as in the vicinity of locations, for example, at airports. In such cases, it is not only important to be able to place the fire extinguishers next to one another or above one another in a space-saving manner, it must also be easy to use by means of a crane or a forklift.

The invention is therefore based on the object to improve a portable fire extinguisher of the generic type in that the housing including the associated substructure is designed as a compact unit and this unit can be easily stacked next to one another and one above the other, with easy transport by means of suitable Handling devices, especially for stacking.

This object is achieved in a portable fire extinguisher of the generic type according to the invention by the characterizing features of claim 1.

The particular advantage of a portable fire extinguisher according to the invention is that a plurality or a plurality of the cubic containers can be arranged side by side and the stacking devices on them allow the construction of several containers one above the other. The container floor, which can be gripped between the feet, enables easy handling of the device by means of a forklift, which is almost always available at the storage or application locations.

Advantageous design features of the invention result from the subclaims.

The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing using an exemplary embodiment. Show:
  • 1 is a perspective view of a portable container fire extinguisher from the opening side in an open arrangement,
  • 2 shows a further perspective view of the device according to FIG. 1 from the opening side in a half-opened arrangement,
  • 3 a perspective view of two stacked container fire extinguishers,
  • Fig. 4 is a side view of the open container fire extinguisher and
  • Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the container fire extinguisher arranged on a chassis.

Since the edges of the container 1 do not all have to be of the same length, so that rectangular boundary sides can also result instead of square boundary sides, the shape of the container 1 can also be referred to as a rectangular or cuboid. In any case, it is crucial for the fire extinguisher that compact outer dimensions of the container 1 result, the ratio of that enclosed by the container 1 Volume to the entire outer surface is the more favorable, the more the container 1 approximates a cubic shape.

The container 1 has a self-supporting frame 2, which is formed by profile bars 3, 4 and 5 made of steel. The profile bars 3, 4 and 5 have flanges perpendicular to each other and are arranged along the edges of the container 1. They can be designed as steel angle or hollow profiles. Such a profile bar is only missing at the upper edge of the opening side of the container 1, here the self-supporting frame 2 is closed by a differently profiled strut.

The profile bars 3, 4 and 5 include fixed side walls 6 and 7 and a fixed base 8, the outer sides of the side walls 6 and 7 either being flush with the outer sides of the profile bars 3, 4 and 5 or, on the other hand, being recessed inwards . It is thus achieved that when several containers 1 are placed next to one another, their frames 2 abut one another and pressure loads on the side walls 6 and 7 are avoided.

The container 1 is closed on the upper side by a hinged lid 9 which is pivotably mounted along the upper edge of the one side wall 7 which is at the rear in FIG. A front end wall 10 is connected to the cover 9 and, in the open arrangement shown in FIG. 1, is inserted under the Dickel 9. The cover 9 with the front end wall 10 arranged thereon can be supported in the open position by one or more gas springs 11.

On the underside, projecting foot rails 12 are arranged on the container 1, which have an L-shaped or U-shaped cross section and extend along two mutually opposite lower edges. In an arrangement standing on the foot rails 12, the container base 8 can therefore be reached in the area between the foot rails 12, so that the container 1 can be easily lifted and transported with a forklift.

In the interior of the container 1 sits near the rear end wall 7, an extinguishing agent container 13 which is detachably connected to the container bottom 8. For exchange, the extinguishing agent container 13 can be lifted out of the container 1. For this purpose, it has a crane eyelet 14 on its upper side. Towards the opening side, a compressed gas bottle 15 is arranged on the container floor 8 in front of the extinguishing agent container 13 and is connected to the extinguishing agent container 13 via a pressure line (not shown in more detail). Above the compressed gas bottle 15, two hose reels 16 are mounted on the opening side in the interior of the container 1, the ends 17 of the hose wound thereon being easily accessible on the opening side of the container 1. Extinguishing guns 18 or other suitable valves can be arranged on the hose ends 17, via which the extinguishing agent can be discharged. An instrument panel 19 is arranged between the two hose reels 16 on the opening side of the container 1, on which the valve lever 20 and further fittings are placed. The extinguishing agent container 13 can be connected to one or both extinguishing pistols 18 via the hoses wound onto the reels 16 via the valve levers 20 and the valves which can be actuated therewith. In addition, an instruction manual can be attached to the dashboard 19 from the opening side of the container 1 in a clearly visible manner.

Wie Figur 2 weiter veranschaulicht, besitzt die Stirnwand 1o ein vertieft liegendes Griffelement 22, damit bei geschlossener Stirnwand 1o jegliche Überstände über die äußeren Begrenzungsseiten der benachberten Profilstäbe 3 des Gestells 2 vermieden sind.FIG. 2 shows the container 1 with the lid 9 closed at the top, on the front edge of which the front container front 10 is arranged so as to be pivotable. Furthermore, the cover 9 has an insert on its underside device 21, which is not shown in the drawing in detail and which can consist of the side edges of the end wall 1o encompassing guide rails. In the folded-up, essentially parallel position to the cover 9, the front container end wall 10 can be pushed under the cover 9 and opened together with it, as illustrated in FIGS. 1 and 4. For the extinguishing insert, it is only necessary to open the hinged end wall 10 and insert it under the cover 9, after which the dashboard 19 and the hose ends 17 with the extinguishing pistols 18 are accessible. In order to replace the extinguishing agent container 13, the opening of the cover 9 with the end wall 1o inserted below it is additionally provided. The filling of the extinguishing agent container 13 can also be carried out via an overhead, closable container opening 33 when it is arranged in the container 1. As FIG. 2 further illustrates, the end wall 1o has a recessed handle element 22, so that when the end wall 1o is closed, any protrusions beyond the outer boundary sides of the adjacent profile bars 3 of the frame 2 are avoided.

Grundsätzlich kann dabei auch ein Teil des Randbereichs des Containerdeckels 9 übergriffen werden, da in übereinandergestapelter Anordnung zumindest der jeweils untere Container 1 nicht geöffnet zu werden braucht.FIG. 2 further illustrates that the foot rails 12 have flanges 31 which are bent at right angles towards the inside and which have cutouts 23 near the four lower corners of the container 1. Correspondingly, the profile bars 5 located at the top have protruding tabs 24 which, when the containers 1 are stacked on top of one another, are provided for engaging in the recesses 23 of the container 1 lying above them. Correspondingly, the tabs 24 are aligned in the vertical direction with the recesses 23 in the flanges 31 of the foot rails 12, and furthermore the tabs 24 come into positive engagement with these recesses 23 in such a way that the stacked containers 1 are secured relative to one another. The stacked arrangement of two containers 1 can be seen in Figure 3. The respective upper container 1 is with its flanges 31 Foot rails 12 on a congruent flange 32 of the top rails 5 of the self-supporting frame 2 of the container 1 arranged below. In principle, part of the edge region of the container lid 9 can also be overlapped here, since at least the respective lower container 1 does not need to be opened in a stacked arrangement.

The entire container can also be lifted using a crane harness. For this purpose, the tabs 24 projecting from the top are designed as crane eyelets.

In Figure 5 it is shown that the container 1 can also be placed on a chassis 25 and thus firmly connected. The chassis 25 has crossbeams 26 with lateral supports 28, in the area of which upwardly projecting tongues 27 are arranged, which engage in the recesses 23 of the flanges 31 of the two foot rails 12 of the container 1 placed thereon. The container 1 is arranged on the chassis 25 such that the foot rails 12 lie in the direction of travel so that the acceleration and braking forces can be optimally transmitted from the chassis 25 to the container 1 by means of the positive locking between the tongues 27 and the foot rails 12.

In the area of the supports 28, bolts 29 are provided, which are displaceable transversely to the direction of travel and can be brought into engagement with holes 30 (FIG. 4) which are incorporated into the foot rails 12.
