Abstract

The device has a container (13) for the extinguishing means, a pressurised gas cylinder (15) and associated fittings (20) which are arranged together in a housing which can be opened. The housing, together with the associated substructure, is now to be constructed as a compact unit and such units are to be stacked easily in a close arrangement adjacently or one above the other, simple transportation being provided by means of suitable handling equipment, in particular also for the stacking. For this purpose, the housing is essentially a cuboid container (1) having a self-supporting frame (2) which has a bottom (8) which can be gripped from below between feet (2) and stacking devices (23, 24; 31, 32). <IMAGE>
