- the areas of application of the cotton fleece are mainly in the bedding area, in the upholstery and mattress industry, in the confection and in the toy area, for example for toys.
- the cotton fleece fulfills its function where the upholstered body equipped in this way is not exposed to pressure and moisture. In the area where these stress cases are present, such as cushion cushions, mattresses, etc., they do not perform their function satisfactorily.
- These puffed up nonwovens made of polyester fibers are usually used to cover the foam cores and are intended to give the upholstered body a better look and direct contact prevent between the actual covering material, ie the covering and the foam core.
- the invention is based on the object, starting from the cushion bodies belonging to the prior art, to design a cushion body from a foam core in such a way that the cushion body maintains its cushioning and ventilation properties even under heavy loads, but nevertheless results in a pleasant cushioning effect.
- the cushion body according to the invention by punching a soft foam sheet, changes the characteristic of such a foam sheet, which is typical per se, in such a way that the goods fall soft and the punched sheet supports the air conditioning.
- the punching of the cuts also causes the user to sit in the foam core and not - as was previously the case with foam webs - to sit thereon.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cushion body according to the preamble of the main claim.
The upholstered bodies belonging to the prior art and using a foam core have been coated since about 1960 with a cotton fleece, which usually consists of polyester fibers and is manufactured and used in the weight classes from about 40 to about 1000 g /
The cotton fleece fulfills its function where the upholstered body equipped in this way is not exposed to pressure and moisture. In the area where these stress cases are present, such as cushion cushions, mattresses, etc., they do not perform their function satisfactorily. These puffed up nonwovens made of polyester fibers are usually used to cover the foam cores and are intended to give the upholstered body a better look and direct contact prevent between the actual covering material, ie the covering and the foam core.
In the long years of using such non-woven fabrics, it has been shown that there are great complaints with seat and lying cushions, since under the influence of pressure and body heat as well as the perspiration that occurs and the moisture that is introduced into the non-woven fabric, the non-woven fabric is compressed and is reduced to less than 1/3 of its original volume. On the one hand, this leads to unsightlyness and complaints due to the folds that then appear, but on the other hand, the cotton fleece no longer fulfills its intended purpose.
Even the processing of thicker nonwovens did not lead to success, because the foam cores arranged inside the nonwoven fabric, despite their possible softness, do not have the supple effect of natural materials, but instead lead to a compression under load, which excludes any cushioning effect.
From DE-A 20 19 488 a foam body is known which is penetrated by at least two mutually penetrating slot systems, each slot of one system being cut by at least one slot of another system. This measure overcomes the stiffness of the rigid foam, and there are suppositories on the surface and a network of rods inside, which are supposed to bend elastically when loaded and snap back when relieved. Such a body has in practice not proven, because on the one hand the manufacturing process is too complex and on the other hand the intersecting slots reduce the strength of the foam core so that no usual cushioning effect can be achieved.
The invention is based on the object, starting from the cushion bodies belonging to the prior art, to design a cushion body from a foam core in such a way that the cushion body maintains its cushioning and ventilation properties even under heavy loads, but nevertheless results in a pleasant cushioning effect.
This object on which the invention is based is achieved by the teaching of the main claim.
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen sind in den Unteransprüchen erläutert.Advantageous configurations are explained in the subclaims.
The cushion body according to the invention, by punching a soft foam sheet, changes the characteristic of such a foam sheet, which is typical per se, in such a way that the goods fall soft and the punched sheet supports the air conditioning. The punching of the cuts also causes the user to sit in the foam core and not - as was previously the case with foam webs - to sit thereon.
The connection of the cover, for example made of a woven, knitted or non-woven fabric, only in certain areas creates air spaces between the cover and the punched foam core, in particular when the cushion body is used. that make the upholstered body formed in this way more sympathetic and easy to grip. In addition to the so-called mature character, a better cushioning effect is achieved, and the so-called "canvas effect" of the cover, which has previously occurred, is avoided by the possibility of the cover stretching.
Adaptations to different purposes can be made by using different materials for the cover on both sides of the foam core.
The proposal according to the invention thus creates an upholstery body which can be used in the broadest areas, has good air-conditioning effects, has a soft and conformable behavior and which, in combination with other upholstery means, also provides ideal upholstery effects, for example as a filling pocket for rod-shaped and / or spherical upholstery bodies.
The upholstery body according to the invention can be used especially for the sheathing of upholstered cushion cores or blank mattresses, in which a soft modeling surface is required. It preferably consists of a 20 mm thick core made of extremely soft, high-quality foam, which is provided with punched cuts in such a way that the surface tension of the foam can be totally broken. As a result, the elastic properties of the foam core change to sluggish elastic properties and the previous typical properties of sitting change to that of modeling sitting. The top and bottom can be covered with a spunbond. Here the top side is preferably provided with a particularly soft design. The arrangement of the cover with more or less intermittent fastening ensures that no contours are visible even with the finest upholstery fabrics or leather, so that an absolutely smooth cushion surface can be achieved.
A health-promoting sitting is achieved by the arrangement according to the invention, namely by a shape that is appropriate for the body and with a maximum of pressure relief.

5 besteht. Der Schaumstoffkern 3 besteht aus einzelnen Schaumstoffbahnen. In Fig. 1, 1 denotes a cushion body which consists of a
Each foam sheet 3 is equipped with die
The cover 4 or 5 is connected in some areas to the foam core 3 in the edge area by sewing or quilting or else in the rest of the area in a material-locking manner, for example by gluing, welding, etc., for example punctiform gluing points can be provided in a grid that has such a grid dimension is chosen that between the individual material connection points there is sufficient free space and thus movement possibilities between the cover 4 and 5 and the foam core 3. The connection between the covers 4 and 5 and the foam core 3 can be provided in a punctiform, linear or the like.
The covers 4 and 5 can consist of a fleece, a woven fabric, a knitted or a film web and can be designed differently on both sides of the foam core 3.
The die
- 1. Bottom of the top cover 4 with the top of the first punched foam sheet 3.
- 2. The underside of this foam sheet 3 with the top of the second stamped foam sheet 3.
- 3. Underside of the second stamped foam sheet 3 with the top of the lower cover 5.
Der Verbundstoff enthält somit drei Klebeseiten. The composite therefore contains three adhesive sides.
The thickness of the foam sheets can vary, with a maximum of about 80 mm being aimed for. The thickness of the thickest web will be about 40 mm, that of the thinnest about 2 mm.
The continuous die cuts are made in the longitudinal and transverse directions and arranged so that the remaining material connections withstand a higher number of washing processes. Woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, nonwovens, foils, etc. can be used as cover.
This procedure makes it possible to manufacture a range of new products, especially for car seat upholstery and nursing pads to prevent pressure ulcers. The special effect lies in the fact that the material combination can be constructed in a sandwich construction and the materials covering the filling are not stitched by quilting - whereby there is always a marking of the stitching - but by the described connection method. The non-full-surface lamination means that no "canvas effect" occurs, the spring travel and thus the cushioning properties of the internal punched foam sheets are fully retained. These upholstery properties, however, before Die cuts tend to have a bulky elasticity, have a flexible, tension-free and thus adapted and supportive elasticity after the die cut.
