Ein hoher Stützfaktor ist aus biomechanischer und orthopädischer Sicht zum Schutz der Wirbelsäule und der Bandscheiben wünschenswert, während ein niedriger Maximaldruck Durchblutungsstörungen reduziert. Eine diesen Forderungen angepaßte Matratze soll aber außerdem im Randbereich einen gewissen Abstützungseffekt beim seitlichen Aufsitzen auf der Bettkante bewirken. Alle diese Forderungen werden durch die erfindungsgemäße Matratze erfüllt, die aus einfachen Platten aufgebaut wird, nämlich einer Basisplatte, die eine hohe Stauchhärte aufweist. Die Stauchhärte wird dabei in KPa (Kilopascal) angegeben, wobei ein KPa ungefähr einem Gewicht von einem Kilo auf 100 cm2 - Fläche entspricht.
