Definitions

  • the invention relates to a new ski which makes it possible to improve the learning and the practice of this sport.
  • the invention relates more specifically to a versatile ski including a support core formed by an elongated body which extends over practically the entire length of the ski consisting of a median body and two front and rear parts and of an envelope surrounding the core support.
  • the position of the skier during his gliding movement is essentially characterized by a certain angulation of the segments of the lower assemblies and by muscular relaxation, capable of allowing the skier to flexibly absorb the unevenness of the surface of the terrain. 'evolution.
  • the invention therefore aims to provide a ski of the type indicated above whose specific shape allows the skier to control his position during his descent.
  • the invention more particularly relates to a ski of this type whose front and rear ends are raised which considerably reduces the risk of falling, while promoting the maneuverability of the ski regardless of the characteristics of the snow.
  • the invention also relates to a short and efficient ski suitable for mountaineers whose safety of use in turns reduces the risk of fall and accident.
  • the invention provides a ski according to claim 1.
  • the raised front and rear parts of the ski have a trapezoidal configuration whose small bases respectively constitute the leading edge of the snow and the rear heel and whose large bases are connected to the median body.
  • the ski thus produced advantageously has a continuously decreasing thickness from the front to the zone of connection with the median body.
  • the maximum thickness of the ski is located at the rear end, this thickness also increasing from front to rear.
  • the user will be able, consequently, to improve his conditions of evolution in rough terrain, steep slopes or in the practice of freestyle and artistic skiing.
  • the ski shown is constituted by an elongated body 1 straight with edges 2 parallel along the bearing surface of the ski which is extended forward and backward by parts 3, 4 raised whose inclination is between 15 and 30 °.
  • the front 3 and rear 4 parts are respectively connected to the body 1 and the assembly is coated with a casing 6 based on different synthetic resins.
  • the binding element (13) of the boot heel is located in the zone of connection of the rear part 4 to the body 1 of the ski, which makes it possible to oblige the skier to maintain a natural position for skiing.
  • the front and rear parts 3, 4 have a trapezoidal configuration, the small bases 3a, 4a respectively constitute the leading edge of the snow and the rear heel while the large bases are connected to the body 1.
  • the front part 3 or spatula could just as easily have a rounded shape with a conventional appearance.
  • the parts 3 and 4 of the ski will therefore have the same structure as the casing 6.
  • the ratio of the lengths a, b of the front 3 and rear 4 parts is between 1.5 and 2 while the width C of the ski is substantially equal to the length b of the rear part 4.
  • the thickness e of the envelope 6 in the area of the body 1 is continuously increasing from the front to the rear of the ski and has a maximum thickness in the area corresponding to the rear heel.
  • the thickness of the front part 3 is continuously decreasing from the front end to the zone of connection with the body 1. The front of the thinner ski is therefore more flexible and plays the role of shock absorber favorably.
  • the elongated support core is based on wood and may be constituted by a core 7 of ventilated ash blockboard of constant thickness.
  • the core 7 ends at the front and rear ends of the parts 3, 4.
  • the support core is constituted by a plurality of rods 8 distributed in a sheet along the width of the ski and separated between them by the channels 9.
  • the various rods 8 are joined by reinforcements 10 loaded as for example by carbon fibers which block the ends of the channels 9.
  • the casing 6 is made up of synthetic resins, for example polyurethane chemically polymerizable under cold conditions by application of a process known from publication FR-A-2,446,437.
  • the core 7 is constituted by a block of ventilated and bent wood covered with a set of linings (6a, 6b) whose thickness is continuously increasing from the connection zone of the front part (3) towards the rear of the ski. .
  • the assembly constituted by the core 7 and the frames 10 which give it the desired flexibility is then placed in a mold into which synthetic resins are injected or poured by gravity.
  • the proposed ski can be produced in current widths according to the intended use.
