Abstract

A container closure attachable directly or indirectly to a container neck sealed by means of a pierceable film seal. The provision of a film seal covering the container neck guarantees the user that the contents of the container are authentic and original as supplied by the manufacturer. The film seal is pierced as the closure is adjusted from an intact to an access position on the container neck. In the upper intact position, a safety band remains intact. The closure can be adjusted to the lower access position only after the safety band has been removed, and the film seal is pierced as the closure is adjusted to the lower access position. Ratchet-like serrations may be provided on the inner side of the safety band engaging the container, thus making it impossible to unscrew a screw-type closure without removing the safety band. The safety band may be provided on a separate intermediate piece which may be snap-fitted or screwed onto the container neck. Opening means for piercing the film seal may be provided on the intermediate piece.

Description

The present invention relates to a plastic closure consisting of a lower part with a pouring opening arranged therein and a cap connected to the lower part via a film hinge, the closure sitting directly or with the interposition of an intermediate piece on a container neck closed by a pierceable membrane or film (known from CH-A 485 563). Such a film or membrane provides a guarantee for the end user that the contents of the container correspond to what the supplier has filled in. In addition, due to the absolute absence of air, it contributes to the fact that no oxidation of the filled product can take place.

Er müsste dazu erst die Kappe abschraubenSimple closures are known with a cap which can be screwed onto the container neck and under which there is a film which can be pierced by hand or with an auxiliary tool. Without a check, such a closure does not guarantee the end customer that the content is intact. He would have to unscrew the cap first

Screw locks which are secured against unscrewing for the first time offer greater security. Such screw closures are known. So that the cap cannot be unscrewed easily, it is provided with a guarantee band, which is connected to the container neck like a riddle. This prevents the cap from being unscrewed as long as the guarantee band is intact. The cap can only be unscrewed after the guarantee tape has been torn off and removed. For documentation, reference is made to DE-A 24 56 931, 29 04 181, 29 23 379, 29 52 779 and 32 02 226.

After the guarantee tape has been removed, the cap can be screwed on further and grips under the edge of an upper, detachable part of the container neck. When the cap is unscrewed for the first time, the cap tears off the detachable part from the neck of the container.

All previously known measures to increase the security for the untouchedness of the container contents are in direct conflict with the desired convenience in use. If you want to use the container contents, you have to unscrew the cap each time and then screw it back on. There is a risk that the unscrewed cap is lost, so that the container can no longer be closed and the contents spoil or its quality is impaired.

The invention has for its object to provide a container closure that can be used in containers, the content of which is guaranteed against contact by means of a membrane or film. In addition, it should be user-friendly and, instead of a simple screw cap, have a pouring opening which can be closed by a captive cap with a hinge. Handling should be as simple as possible, so that no detailed instructions for use are required.

The invention solves this problem with a closure of the type mentioned, which has the specific features of claim 1.

In principle, the closure must be able to assume two layers, namely a higher position with respect to the neck of the container, in which the film or membrane is intact, and a lower position, in which the film or membrane is pierced or cut through. These two positions are referred to below as the "guarantee position" or "use position" of the closure.

The invention offers two variants for this. Claim 2 proposes to bring the closure into the position of use by screwing it from the guarantee position (after tearing off or breaking off the guarantee band). According to claim 3, the closure can be brought from the guarantee position into the use position by axially pushing on or pushing (also after tearing off or detaching the guarantee band).

    • Figure 1a the same closure in the position of use and
    • 1 b the closure according to FIG. 1 a with the closure cap open
  • Figure 2 shows a closure in the guaranteed position, which can be brought into the position of use by axial pushing or pushing;
    • Figure 2a shows the closure of Figure 2 in the use position;
    • Figure 2b the same closure with the cap open;
  • Figure 3 shows a closure corresponding to Figure 2 with a container whose neck is shaped accordingly;
  • Figure 4 is a screw cap and a container whose neck is provided with a ratchet toothing and
  • Figure 5 shows an intermediate piece for itself and a container, the neck of which is shaped so that the intermediate piece can be pressed or blown onto the neck.

Figures 1.1a, 1b show a screw-on plastic hinge closure with a cap 1 and a lower part 2, which are connected to one another by a film hinge 3 known per se. This actual closure is not directly connected to the container 5 by means of an annular intermediate piece 4. The intermediate piece has an internal thread 41 and an external thread 42. With the internal thread it is fastened on the container neck 51. The actual closure 1, 2, 3 is screwed onto the external thread 42 of the intermediate piece. A film 6 is attached between the upper edge of the bottle neck 51 and the intermediate piece 4, which is sealed, welded or glued to the edge of the container neck and optionally additionally to the intermediate piece 4. The intermediate piece 4 is with egg nem opening member 43 which is in the guarantee position according to Figure 1 above the film 6. If the closure is brought from the guarantee position into the use position according to FIG. 1a, a hollow plunger 21 actuates the opening member 43 and brings it into the position 43 'shown in FIG. 1a, in which it has cut open the film 6 and pushed it away.

As mentioned above, the lower part 2 is provided with a hollow plunger 21 which adjoins the pouring opening 22. In the position of use according to FIG. 1a, the annular projection 23 lies on the intermediate piece 4 and determines the exact position of the closure with respect to the intermediate piece. The cap 1 is provided with a locking ring 11 which closes the pouring opening 22 when the cap is closed.

So that the closure cannot be easily moved from the guarantee position (FIG. 1) to the use position (FIG. 1 a), a guarantee band 44 is attached to the intermediate piece and connected to it by a predetermined breaking seam 45. On the inside, the guarantee band is provided with riddle-like teeth 46 which engage with corresponding teeth 52 attached to the lower part of the neck of the container. This prevents the closure from being easily unscrewed from its guaranteed position.

On the guarantee tape a handle 47 is attached with which it can be torn off the intermediate piece. Only after the guarantee tape has been torn off can the closure be screwed further from the guarantee position into the use position.

Stattdessen könnte es auch mit einem Abreissgriff versehen sein.FIGS. 2, 2a, 2b show a similar closure, which differs in principle from the closure according to FIG. 1 in that it can be moved from its guaranteed position according to FIG. 1 into the use position according to FIG in that the film 60 is pierced by a hollow mandrel 201, which opens into the pouring opening 202, so that it reaches the position 601 shown in FIG. 2a. The intermediate piece 40 is not screwed onto the container neck 501, but is blown open. On the outside, the intermediate piece has no thread, but two parallel locking grooves 402, as can be seen on a larger scale in FIG. 5. The distance between the grooves 402 determines the distance between the guarantee position and the use position. In the interior of the lower part 20 there are locking lugs 202 (see also FIG. 3) which, depending on the position of the closure 10, 20, 30, engage behind the upper or the lower groove. So that the guarantee position is secured, a guarantee band 403 is attached to the intermediate piece 40 and connected to it by a predetermined breaking seam 404. In contrast to the guarantee tape according to FIG. 1, however, no riddle-like anti-rotation lock is required. The closure in the warranty position can be turned, but can no longer be removed. With a corresponding shape (as in FIG. 2) of the part of the container adjoining the container neck, the guarantee band is automatically blown off when pushed into the position of use. Instead, it could also be equipped with a tear-off handle.

Als Anschlag dient der ringförmige Vorsprung 203 an der Unterseite des Unterteiles 20.The closure according to FIG. 2 can therefore be brought from the guarantee position according to FIG. 2 into the use position according to FIG. 2a by pressing in the direction of arrow A. All you need to do is hit or hit. In this case, the guarantee band 403 breaks off by itself and the locking lugs 202, which previously reached under the upper groove 402, now reach under the lower groove 402. The annular projection 203 on the underside of the lower part 20 serves as a stop.

Die Figuren 3-5 zeigen einige weitere Ausführungsvarianten.Figures 3-5 show some other design variants.

Ansonsten entspricht die Anordnung und die Wirkungsweise dem anhand der Figuren 2,2a,2b beschriebenen.FIG. 3 shows a container neck 502 below, on which parallel locking rings 503 are directly molded. A film 60 is attached to the upper edge of the neck, with which the contents of the container are secured against unauthorized intervention. As a result, a separate intermediate piece has become superfluous. In contrast, the guarantee band 204 must now be attached to the lower part 20 of the closure. It is connected to the lower edge of the lower part 20 by the predetermined breaking seam 205. Otherwise, the arrangement and the mode of operation correspond to that described with reference to FIGS. 2,2a, 2b.

Figure 4 shows a screw-on closure. The container neck has an external thread 504 and an adjoining ratchet toothing 505. The upper edge of the neck is provided with a glued or welded membrane 60. The lower edge of the lower part 20 is provided with a guarantee tape 204 with a tear-off tab 206.

The lower part 20 of the closure is provided with an internal thread 207 corresponding to the thread 504 on the container. On the lower side of the lower part 20 facing the container neck, a cutting tip 208 is attached, which merges into a leading edge 209, which acts like a ploughshare. When screwing (after removing the guarantee tape) into the position of use, the tip 208 first cuts, after reaching a certain depth the tooth no longer cuts and the leading edge 209 presses the partially annularly cut membrane 60 inwards. However, there is no risk that a loose part of the film will get into the container.

However, it differs from this in that, as a replacement for a separate film, the upper part of the intermediate piece is so thin that it forms a pierceable membrane 405. In addition, this membrane is also provided with lines of weakness 406 arranged in a star shape. For a safe opening on the container neck, the intermediate piece is provided with an annular bead 506 and the inner wall of the intermediate piece 400 has an annular bead 407.

For the sake of clarity are in the drawing Those safety devices are omitted that prevent the cap 1 or 10 from opening as long as the closure is in the guarantee position. Without such securing means, the cap could be opened and the film or membrane pierced through the pouring opening!

The Swiss patent no. 667 249 provides a solution to this problem by forming a hook on the cap which locks the cap in the guaranteed position and automatically detaches from the lower part when the closure is brought into the use position
