Soweit sich in den V-förmigen Hohlräumen der Oberseite des Hohlprofils Wasser und Schmutz ansammelt, beeinträchtigt dies nicht die Nutzungsdauer des Dichtungsbandes. Weitere Merkmale, Vorteile und Einzelheiten der Erfindung ergeben sich aus der nachfolgenden Beschreibung eines Ausführungsbeispiels anhand der Zeichnung. Dabei zeigen:
- Fig. 1 einen Querschnitt durch die seitliche Verdickung des Dichtungsbandes im entspannten Zustand;
- Fig. 2 einen Fugenquerschnitt ohne Dichtungsband;
- Fig. 3 die Verformung des Dichtungsbandes beim Einbau in das Fugenrandprofil und
- Fig. 4 ebenfalls in einem Fugenquerschnitt das vollständig in die Fugenränder eingebaute Dichtungsband.

Fig. 1 zeigt von einem bevorzugt aus einem gummiartigen Werkstoff bestehenden Dichtungsband 1 eine der beiden seitlichen Verdickungen 2 im nicht eingebauten Zustand. Die Verdickung 2 hat eine ebene Oberseite 3, die im Einbauzustand des Dichtungsbandes 1 bündig mit der Straßenoberkante 4 (Figuren 2 und 4) verläuft, und eine untere Auflagefläche 5, die ein Auflager für die Verdickung bildet. Die Verdickung 2 ist ferner mit einer Nase 6 versehen, die im eingebauten Zustand des Dichtungsbandes zusammengedrückt wird, so daß sie dann im wesentlichen vertikal bzw. horizontal verläuft. Hierbei wird der an die Stützfläche 7 angrenzende Vorsprung 7b in Richtung des Hohlraumes 7a nach innen gedrückt, so daß die Verdickung 2 durch den verengten Querschnitt 22 in den muldenförmigen Hohlraum 15 eingeführt werden kann.In Fig. 3 it is shown how the
Fig. 4 zeigt das vollständig eingebaute Dichtungsband, wobei die seitlichen Verdickungen 2 mit ihren Oberseiten mit der Fahrbahnoberkante 4 fluchten. Gleichzeitig liegt der Vorsprung 7b gegen die Kante 18 an, wobei der Vorsprung 7b eine Stützfläche der Verdickung 2 in dem Hohlraum bildet. Der Steg 8 mit der Wulst 9 ist zur Fuge hin aufgebogen, so daß die Wulst 9 etwas oberhalb der Stützfläche 7a an einem Innenwandabschnitt des Fugenrandprofils 12 und der Verdickung 2 anliegt, und die Verdickung 2 in dem Hohlraum 15 verkeilt ist Die horizontale Auflagerfläche 5 der Verdickung 2 liegt unter Vorspannung auf dem horizontalen Randabschnitt 16 des Fugenrandprofils 12 auf, so daß die Verdickung insgesamt 3 Auflagerflächen 5, 6 und 7 hat, die gegen die Innenwandung des Hohlraumes 15 angepreßt werden.
