Definitions
- the present invention relates to a portable machine for clamping concrete irons using a twisted wire. It is of interest to the building industry and, more specifically, to the manufacturers of metal reinforcements.
- the wire to be twisted is the only prime contractor, that is to say that the wire, by its position in the machine, controls itself, the succession of operations by the via a control unit, preferably electronic with cards.
- the wire is stretched before the start of the twist thanks to a reverse (retrogression) of the iron supply which presses the concrete irons on the machine's rest Vs; the tension and the cutting and twisting operations only take place afterwards.
- the wire is fed continuously without the use of preformed pins and the autonomy of the machine can be, for example, from 700 to 1000 fasteners.
- the machine offers the possibility of operating on a 12-volt automotive type battery, which allows work on sites not equipped with electricity.
- Part (I) comprises a multi-wire connector 1 allowing the exchange of information between an electronic box (not shown) and the machine and a wire reserve coil 2 ensuring a large number of ligatures without recharging.
- the coil is provided with a contact strip (not shown) which is grounded by the wire (F). When the coil is almost empty (2 to 3 turns) the contact strip is no longer grounded and an additional operation is no longer allowed, hence the machine stopping. This avoids the presence in the machine of a too short piece of wire which would remain inaccessible.
- Part (II) comprises a motor 3 which ensures, by means of two reducing trains, either the advance or the retreat of the wire, or the rotation of a central shaft (0). This choice is ensured by the tilting a cradle (E) carrying the motor (Fig. 2).
- the motor output pinion (4) in a first position of the cradle, transmits its movement to a toothed wheel 5 and to pinions 6-7-6 and 9. Pinions 10 and 11, which follow, then ensure the simultaneous rotation of rollers 12 and 13 for driving the wire (Fig. 3 and 4).
- the pinion 4 in a second position of the cradle, transmits its movement to wheels 14-15-16), the wheel 16 being wedged on the central shaft (D).
- the toothed wheel 16 (part III) is provided with an insulating crown 17 covered with chromed copper which ensures electrical continuity between a contact plate 18 (part IV), which the wire meets with a wiper 19.
- An electric wire (G ) of connection between the crown 17 and the plate 18 passes through a groove 20 formed on the central shaft (D).
- the motor 3 is fixed at the front and at the rear in a bracket 25 (Fig. 2). It pivots on axes 28-29 integral with parts 26-27, fixed on a base (H) integral with the plate (B).
- a tongue 30 of sheet metal On the stirrup 25 is welded a tongue 30 of sheet metal, a central recess of which is engaged in a groove 30A formed in a plunger core 31 common to two electromagnets 32 and 33 (FIG. 5).
- a part 21 carrying the conical toothed crown 9 and the roller 12, is fixed to the plate B.
- a part 22, carrying the roller 13, is articulated on the part 21 by the axis 23.
- the wire is pressed between the rollers 12 and 13 by springs 24.
- the pinions 10 and 11 ensure the simultaneous rotation of the two rollers.
- Plate C (part III) carries a set of electromagnets opening clamps (J) and closing guides (K).
- the four electromagnets in this set are of the same type with a high power plunger core with a large stroke and a low holding current. These are electromagnets 34 and 35 for opening the clamps (J) and electromagnets 36-37 for closing the guides (K).
- each guide (K) are pierced with a channel (channel 49A for the foot 49 and channel 52A for the block 52).
- the channel 49A and the channel 52A are not in the extension of one another (open position of the guide) as long as the pin 39 or 40, already engaged in the channel 49A, do not sink, in the movable block (52) of the guide (K). Pushing in the spindle results in the closing of the guide (guide K from the top when considering the plane of figure 1).
- a part 43 Fixed on the plates B and C, a part 43 is used to deform a flexible sheath (L) which conducts the wire (F).
- a longitudinal groove 43a formed in the part 43 guides a deformation in an arc of a circle of the sheath (L) and allows, at the bottom of the groove, to pass a contactor 44 to the state 1.
- the deformation is obtained by a lever 45
- the adjustment of a return spring 46 makes it possible to dose the straightening force of the sheath (L) produced by the tension of the iron wire (F) in retrogression, thus causing the contactor 44 to go to state 0 ( Fig. 6, 7 and 8).
- the wire (F) is shown in the guides (K) between the bottom of a groove (M) and steel balls (N).
- the wire (F) drives out the balls (N) one by one in a rubber mattress (0) and can thus, come out of the guide (K) and encircle the irons to be tied against a support plane XX of the machine.
- a fixed part 55 of hardened steel and integral with the plate C
- a moving part 56 of a shears or guillotine (Fig. 11).
- the moving part 56 descends at each turn of a cam 57, (Fig. 1) pushing a ball roller (58) mounted on said moving part 56.
- the moving part 56 is lowered and, from this done, the wire (F) is cut.
- Return springs (P) are interposed between the fixed part 55 and the moving part 56.
- a twist (0 Fig. 1 part IV and figures 12 to 15) is freely mounted on the central shaft (D).
- a pin 60 screwed into the central shaft (D) only drives the twist after having turned 60 °, (time taken advantage of by the cam 57 to push the shears 56 and cut the wire).
- a resort 62 hooked at 63 recalls the pin 60 in its first position.
- Each vice (J) is composed of two jaws, one movable 64, the other fixed 65.
- the assembly operates by the thrust of the electromagnets 34-35 on levers 66 which, by rotating the jaw 64, open the vices.
- Sheet metal parts 67 and 68 are assembled on a nozzle 69 and screwed onto a twist wheel 78. They cause the wire to twist as soon as the twist wheel 78 is rotated.
- a reset after a ligature comprises a cam 47 and a pawl 48 with insulating sole which do not intervene in the normal direction of the twist.
- the cam-47 puts the pawl 48 to ground and stops the machine in the zero position (Fig. 8).
- a device for fitting the irons against the X-X support plane comprises two segments 70 and 71 onto which Ves 72-73 are welded (Figs 16 and 17).
- the machine cover has two handles. One of support, 81 placed in the balancing center, the other of orientation 82 (Figs 18,19 and 20).
- the first handle 81 (taken in the right hand) is independent of the angular position of the machine in the at zero state.
- a new electrical pulse then controls the tilting of the motor on the reduction gear (14-15-16) (electromagnets 32 glued).
- the engine starts forward, controls the cut and the start of the twist. After the break thereof, a time constant controls the slow reverse of the motor and, therefore, the grounding of the pawl 48 of the reset.
- the machine is ready for a new ligature.
- the machine according to the invention fits (according to a nonlimiting preferred embodiment) into a 100 mm cylinder. diameter (to which the height of the handle must be added 100 mm.) and overall length of 0.35 m.
- the weight of the machine in this embodiment is approximately 1.5 kg.
