Definitions

  • the invention relates to a mechanical aiming device for rifles with a grain held by a carrier and adjustable in relation to the rifle barrel in terms of height and side.
  • Such aiming devices are primarily intended for rifles with interchangeable barrels, because the rear sight is then fixed to the barrel-free rifle part, i.e. not adjustable, arranged and each barrel can receive a grain adjusted in such a way that a correct meeting point position is always achieved after assembly.
  • the grain must be set accordingly on each run, but it is then not necessary to make a new adjustment every time the barrel is changed.
  • this type of adjustment has been achieved in such a way that the grain is provided with a stud screw which can be screwed into a bore of the grain carrier directed radially to the barrel, but is not arranged coaxially with this stud screw, but is laterally offset.
  • the result is an eccentric formed by the grain and pin, when the grain is rotated the desired lateral adjustment is made.
  • this is also a rotation of the stud in the threaded hole of the grain carrier, screwing or unscrewing into and out of the threaded hole and thus a height adjustment of the grain is always disadvantageously associated with the lateral adjustment of the grain.
  • the side and height adjustment of the grain cannot therefore be carried out independently of one another, or an adjustment of the side to and from and vice versa is associated with each height adjustment.
  • a disadvantage of the known adjustment possibility of the grain is also felt that the grain comes with an existing, preferably tunnel-shaped grain protection in an asymmetrical position within the grain protection if a lateral offset is necessary, the asymmetrical position of the grain making it difficult to aim because the shooter involuntarily always tries to bring the grain optically into the center or the center line of the grain tunnel or the like.
  • a target device is also known from FR-A-1 273 241, in which there is a radial bore extending into this in a shoulder on the top of a gun barrel, in which a cylindrical bolt is arranged so as to be vertically displaceable and rotatable.
  • the bolt is equipped on its outer end face with a grain arranged eccentrically to its axis of rotation and can be fixed in its height position relative to the rifle barrel by a set screw screwed into a thread of a transverse bore of the attachment and engaging on the smooth outer surface of the bolt.
  • a lateral adjustment of the grain is achieved by turning the bolt.
  • a disadvantage of this construction is that the adjusting screw must be loosened for the lateral or height adjustment of the grain.
  • the bolt must either be raised or lowered by hand until the desired height is reached, whereupon the bolt must be secured in this position by tightening the set screw.
  • the set screw must be loosened in order to be able to turn the bolt. If the set screw is loosened, however, the bolt falls into the hole due to its own weight, since it is not possible to hold it by hand at the height already set and at the same time twist it to adjust the grain laterally. Even with the reverse procedure, i.e. first setting the lateral setting and then setting the height of the grain, the same problems occur because the two settings cannot be made independently.
  • the invention is therefore based on the object of eliminating these deficiencies and of creating a mechanical aiming device of the type described at the outset, which enables a height adjustment of the grain without a simultaneous lateral offset or a lateral grain adjustment without a noticeable change in the grain according to the height and a comparatively robust and easy to operate construction of the parts belonging to the grain.
  • the invention solves the problem in that for the lateral adjustability of the grain of the carrier can be pivoted about the gun barrel and a finger fixed to the gun barrel is provided, on which a set screw supported in the carrier with its pivot axis crossing axis is supported, the grain being adjustable in height is screwed into a radial bore to the pivot axis of the carrier, which preferably forms a grain tunnel.
  • the carrier pivots around the rifle barrel in one direction or the other because the set screw is supported on the finger fixed to the rifle barrel.
  • This pivoting of the carrier brings with it the desired lateral grain displacement, but it is only a few angular degrees when pivoting, so that the circular arc described here from the grain end merely imperceptibly deviates from a straight line and the resulting height offset can therefore be neglected without further notice.
  • the adjustment of the grain height by more or less screwing into the radial bore of the carrier has of course no influence on the lateral position of the grain, so that the grain displacement of the height and the side can be carried out completely independently of one another.
  • the adjustment is relatively simple and the entire construction has no parts that are manufactured with particular precision should be exposed to or increased risk of injury. Since the carrier itself forms the grain tunnel and at the same time the. Grain is held firmly in place, when the carrier is pivoted to the lateral grain offset, the grain is not shifted from the center of the tunnel, so that there is no target difficulty in this regard.
  • the set screw designed as a worm screw has a central annular groove into which the finger engages with an end bead, the carrier having a slot for the passage of the finger into the hole for the set screw.
  • the set screw is provided with circumferential locking recesses and the pin-shaped grain widens into a disk which has locking recesses on its underside, spring-pressed into a common carrier bore parallel to the grain axis into the locking recesses locking body engaging locking screw and washer are arranged.
  • a common carrier bore parallel to the grain axis into the locking recesses locking body engaging locking screw and washer are arranged.
  • a spring supported on the finger in the slot area of the carrier and pressing a flank of the annular groove of the adjusting screw against the end bead is provided. Any manufacturing inaccuracies are compensated for by this spring and a fixed support position is achieved without any play in spite of the inevitable manufacturing tolerances.
  • the design according to the invention also gives the possibility that a foldable additional grain of a night sighting device is provided on the back of the carrier.
  • This self-illuminating additional grain lies down in front of the actual grain when folded up and thus allows the shooter to aim roughly even in the worst lighting conditions, without it being necessary to carry a separate night grain and then to attach it to the actual grain, the additional grain, since it is on Carrier is arranged, the grain setting inevitably takes part.
  • the front part of the aiming device consists of a finger 2 which is stuck to the gun barrel 1 and a grain carrier 3 which can be pivoted about the gun barrel 1 and which forms a grain tunnel 4 and has a radial bore 5 into which the grain 6 is screwed.
  • the grain 6 widens to a disk 7 and carries a threaded shoulder 8 mounted in the radial bore 5.
  • the erected finger 2 has an end bead 9 which is rounded on its side flanks and with which it engages in a central annular groove 10 of a set screw 11 designed as a worm screw.
  • the set screw is mounted in a carrier bore that normally crosses the axis of the gun barrel 1 or the pivot axis of the carrier, the carrier 3 having a slot 12 for the passage of the finger 2 into the bore for the set screw 11.
  • a compression spring 14 is supported, which acts on the side wall of the slot 12 and presses the right flank of the annular groove 10 of the adjusting screw 11 against the end bead 9 of the finger 2 in FIG. 2.
  • the adjusting screw 11 has locking recesses 15 on the circumferential side, and the underside of the disk 7 is also provided with locking recesses 16.
  • two locking bodies 19, 20 are pressed apart by a spring 18 and engage in the locking recesses 15, 16.
  • an additional grain 22 which can be folded up about an axis 21, which is provided with a self-illuminating pad and is folded up in poor lighting and covers or replaces the visor 6.
  • a spring-loaded locking device 23 again serves to secure the additional grain 22 in its two end positions.
