Description

The invention relates to a component for roller brushes with a holding part for a processing element for removing deposits, such as dirt, snow, ice, paint and rubber abrasion from traffic areas, the holding part is provided with a shaft that has an opening at one end to one to The axis of the roller brush has a parallel, defined axis of pivotable mounting of the holding part on the core of the roller brush and, at the other end, a head which receives the processing element and is thickened relative to the shaft of the holding part.

Walzenbürsten sind in den verschiedensten Ausführungsformen bekannt.Roller brushes are known in a wide variety of embodiments.

Thus, from DE-C-815 967, GB-C-726 940 and US-A-3 134 123, 3 200 430 and 3 228 053 embodiments for roller brushes are known, in which strip-shaped holders for tufts of bristles in axially parallel grooves of the Brush body can be inserted. In these known round brushes, the tufts of bristles are not held pivotably on the brush body and can only deviate from their position radially protruding from the brush body with elastic deformation of the individual bristles themselves.

In another group of roller brushes, the bristle tufts are movably mounted on an essentially cylindrical carrier body (brush core), with no preferred pivot axis of the bristle tufts. For example, DE-C-286 512 shows a round brush in which the tufts of bristles are attached to the brush body via coil springs so that they can pivot in all directions. DE-C-352 183 describes a round brush serving as a matte brush, in which tufts of bristles are fastened to a carrier part in several directions so as to be movable. Another possibility of connecting bristle tufts of a rotating round brush with its carrier body, which can be moved in all directions, is shown in DE-C-289 181, in which pins with widened heads, to which the bristle tufts are attached, reach through holes in the tubular carrier part and there through the Heads are held. From DE-C-286 513 it is known to arrange rubber strips instead of bristles in a washing roller for street cleaning machines, which are attached to the core of the roller brush by means of coil springs and nuts.

From the Austrian patent application 100/84 published on February 15, 1985, a roller brush for track-laying machines is known, in which tubular broaching arms are attached to the brush core by a clamping screw connection. The tubular broaching arms are said to be made of flexible material and, at their radially outer ends, do not have any designs that prevent increased wear.

It has also already been proposed (cf. AT-B-305 350, US-A-3 278 966 and US-A-3 545 026) to design bristles in the case of round brushes so as to be pivotable about axes parallel to the axis of rotation of the brush, although the Pivotal movement of the bristles only serves to set the bristles in a certain angular position to the radial plane. US-A-3 545 026 proposes a similar situation, in which the swiveling of the bristles is to take place automatically under the contact pressure of the roller brush on the object to be cleaned.

From GB-C-962 604 it is also known to attach bristle tufts to the core of a roller brush by means of clamps and elastic intermediate links provided there, so that the bristle tufts can spring back and forth with elastic deformation of the connecting links about the axis parallel to the axis of rotation of the roller brush The brush construction described in GB-C-962 604 is very expensive with regard to the attachment of the bristle tufts with clamps and multiple rivet or screw connections, and the replacement of worn bristle tufts is also tedious.

A disadvantage of these known roller brushes is that comparatively long bristles (processing elements) are used which are correspondingly elastic and therefore not very wear-resistant.

The known round brushes have the disadvantage that a compromise between abrasion resistance and the elastic properties of the bristles required for the intended use of the round brush must be sought when selecting the material for the bristles.

The milling chisels are fastened to the roller in DE-A-3 246 118 via elastic holders which are rigidly connected to the circumference of the roller and are approximately tangential to it.

Document DE-B-1 210 409 describes a brush in which the tufts of bristles are inserted into webs which are connected to a band by means of narrow tongues. The webs, the tongues and the band are formed in one piece from elastic material.

Die Halteteile üben eine mehrfache Hammerwirkung auf die zu bearbeitende Oberfläche aus, da sie nach dem erstmaligen Auftreffen auf die zu bearbeitende Oberfläche zwischen dieser und mit dem Bürstenkern verbundenen Anschlägen hin und her pendeln.US-A-4 332 422 discloses a device with the features of the introductory part of independent claim 1, which is intended for abrading the surface of road surfaces and with which the road surface is to be leveled. In the known device, the holding parts are mounted on a brush core so as to be pivotable about axes parallel to the axis of the brush core. These holding parts are rigid in themselves and have a head on which processing elements are provided. The holding parts have a multiple hammer effect on the surface to be machined, since they hit after the first impact oscillate the surface to be machined between this and the stops connected to the brush core.

In contrast, the invention has for its object to provide an equipment part for roller brushes of the type mentioned, in which the equipment, whether after wear and tear or to adapt the equipment to the particular application of the roller brush, can be easily replaced and additionally the holding parts to Axis of rotation of the roller brush can pivot parallel axes.

According to the invention this is achieved in that the holding part including its shaft and its head, on which the processing element is provided, is formed in one piece from elastic, preferably rubber-elastic material, that the processing element in a provided in the head of the holding part, parallel to the axis of the opening of the shaft extending groove is received and that the processing element is received in a holding rail or bar, which is inserted into the groove of the head of the holding part and fastened there.

A major advantage of the invention is that separate holding parts are provided from the actual machining elements, which are used to connect the machining elements to the brush body, so that the respective suitable material can be used for the holding part on the one hand and the machining element on the other hand. Since, moreover, the holding parts are provided at their radially outer ends with a head to which the machining elements engaging on the surface of the (traffic) surface to be worked are fastened, the section of the holding part which connects its head to the brush core can therefore the shaft of the holding part can be made light and elastic, whereas the machining elements can be carried out particularly wear-resistant or in accordance with the task assigned to them.

The invention has the advantage that the elastic properties of the machining elements are no longer particularly demanding, since the tubular, rod-shaped or strip-shaped holding parts on the brush core are pivotably mounted in radial planes and are designed to be elastic.

The invention also makes it possible to change the holding parts of roller brushes and also to equip one and the same roller brush, if this is desired for a special purpose, with different processing elements. The usual bristle tufts (which are then only very short), strips of elastic material, pins, in particular of hard material, and polygonal plates, which engage with a side edge on the surface to be processed, can be provided as processing elements.

In the head 3 processing elements 2, which consist of pins 8 made of hard material, are provided.

The head 3 and the holder 25 with the bore 26 and the shaft 4 are made of rubber-elastic material.

From Figure 1 it can also be seen that the pins 8 lying in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the roller brush on which the holding parts 1 are mounted are inclined to the longitudinal extent of the holding part 1, the free ends of the pins 8 being forward, i.e. point in the direction of rotation (arrow 12). This inclination of the pins or bristles, and also the arrangement of its shaft 4 in the region of the front surface of the holding part 1, results in a holding part that is specific to the direction of rotation. For a holding part that can be used for both possible directions of rotation of a round brush, the processing elements 2 will run in the longitudinal direction of the holding part 1 and the shaft 4 will also be arranged in the longitudinal center plane of the holding part 1.

The holding part 1 according to FIG. 2 has a shaft 4 arranged in its longitudinal center plane. The head 3 has a T-shaped groove 9 for receiving machining elements. The bracket 25 is provided for anchoring to the core of a round brush with a bore 26.

In Figure 3, the end of a holding rail 10 for machining elements 2 is illustrated, which has a T-shaped cross section, wherein a Flange 11 is used for connection to preferably several heads 3 (not shown) and the web parts 11 define a groove 9 for receiving machining elements 2. According to FIG. 4, these processing elements 2 can consist of strips 6, which are comb-shaped with the aid of slots 7.

The holding strip 15 illustrated in FIG. 4 is trapezoidal in cross section with side faces 18.

In the retaining strip 15 wedge-shaped recesses 14 are provided, in which processing elements in the form of polygonal plates 13 can be used so that the plates 13 protrude with a side edge from the recesses 14 over the outer surface 17 of the retaining strip 15. Such processing elements have e.g. a trapezoidal outline.
