Definitions

  • the subject of the present invention is an apparatus for handling a railroad track panel by gripping and tilting it from its ground position to the oblique position in the transverse gauge of the track and vice versa. view of its installation, its removal and its transport on an appropriate railway vehicle.
  • This device is intended to be used in the context of fitting, removing or replacing track devices such as switches, crossings or the like.
  • the loading and unloading of the switchgear panel on the transport wagon is currently carried out according to three main working methods using different means suitable for each of these methods.
  • gantries spanning the switchgear are previously installed along the latter, then lifting it up and thus freeing the passage over its head from a loading wagon suitable for rolling also on the ballast at least at one of its two ends.
  • the gantry cranes are equipped with carrying arms and winches to raise and lower the switchgear in its horizontal position, and the transport wagon is fitted with mechanisms with articulated levers to allow the tilting of the switchgear in view of its transport or vice versa its horizontal setting for its lifting by the gantry cranes.
  • the levers of the mechanisms integral with the wagon are provided that can be moved thereon in the direction of its length.
  • the second and third methods no longer require the temporary occupation of an auxiliary route, but the means employed nevertheless remain significant and complicated.
  • the design of the gantries, in particular, leads to heavy structures, bulky and difficult to handle both for their installation and for their evacuation from the workplace.
  • These gantry cranes must be completed by mechanisms installed on the transport wagons, as in the second method, or by an additional console vehicle as in the third method.
  • the object of the invention is a technical simplification and an economy of handling means suitable for gripping and placing oblique position of the switchgear panels as well as their loading and unloading on suitable transport wagons. , while concerving the advantages of the elimination of the assembly site and the elimination of the use of an auxiliary path or a parallel circulation path during the installation and removal operations of said panels.
  • the handling device is characterized in that it comprises a support comprising at least one support sole intended to be placed on the ballast, a horizontal pivot parallel to the track carried by the support on one side of the track in the offset position relative to the sole, a carrying arm extended in the transverse direction of the track and articulated by one end to this pivot, at least two rail fastening members mounted on the carrying arm for gripping the panel, and a motor member for pivoting the carrying arm by pivoting around the pivot.
  • the panel seized on the ground can be placed directly in an oblique position in the gauge of the track by tilting the carrying arm and loaded in this position on a railway vehicle suitable for its transport introduced under the carrying arm by displacement on the ballast in the longitudinal direction of the track, and unloaded and installed by the reverse operations.
  • this device responds well to the desired goal. It can be transported and set up easily by a reduced workforce and without specialized equipment. It is self-sufficient for loading and unloading a panel as well as for installing and removing it.
  • the support for this handling device can be produced in different ways.
  • this support consists of a support sole intended to be laid extended in the transverse direction of the track below the level of the pad of the panel rails and the pivot on which is articulated the arm of portage is carried by the end of this sole.
  • This embodiment is advantageous by its lightness and its simplicity of construction and is suitable when the necessity which it imposes to practice a preliminary excavation in the ballast for its installation under a panel to be replaced is not considered as a disadvantage. .
  • this support is composed of at least a first upright with a support sole intended to be placed on the ballast on one side of the panel and at least one second upright connected to the upper part of the first upright and with a support sole intended to be placed on the other side of the panel, and the pivot on which the carrying arm is articulated is carried by the first upright of the support in the deported position upward relative to the sole of this amount.
  • the mounting of the rail hooking members on a carrying arm articulated to a support bearing on the ballast makes it possible, in one embodiment applicable to the previous two, to efficiently equip the organ handling device with displacement of the panel gripped by these hooking members to move this panel in the longitudinal and transverse directions of the track as well as in height and in inclination relative to the support. In this way, when installing a new panel to replace a worn panel, this new panel can be installed and precisely connected with the track in place.
  • the support sole 1 of this device is intended to be placed between two crosspieces 8 and under the rails 9 and 10 of a track apparatus panel A which is here a simple switch panel, in the position shown in the figure. 1.
  • This support sole 1 has a U-shaped section with vertical wings and here carries at the level of its extension arm 2 a heel 11 extended perpendicular to its direction on the two outer sides of its wings and intended to reinforce its stability in the plane vertical. But this heel is not essential if the width of the support sole 1 is provided sufficient to ensure this stability.
  • the carrying arm 4 also has a U-shaped section with vertical wings inserted between those of the sole 1 at the level of the shaft 3.
  • the hydraulic cylinder 7 is installed and articulated inside the wings of the support sole and of the carrying arm. Its position is provided close enough to the articulation pivot 3 so as to be located outside of the rails 9 and 10 of the panel once the device is in place. Similarly, the position of the heel 11 is provided outside the heads of the crosspieces 7 in order to be able to give it a length greater than the interval between two consecutive crosspieces.
  • the handling device once put in place in the configuration shown in FIG. 1, and once the rail hooks 5 are secured against the rails 9 using pins 6, the panel d track device A can be lifted and placed in an oblique position in the working gauge of the track, using the hydraulic cylinder 7, in the configuration shown in FIG. 2.
  • this track apparatus panel A can be directly loaded onto a wagon 12 suitable for its transport, of a type known per se capable of running on the track using axles, not shown, and motorized tracks 13 capable of running on the ballast.
  • the wagon 12 is introduced into the open angle formed by the handling device and the panel A by displacement of this wagon along the ballast platform left free by the lifting of this panel.
  • This wagon 12 of known type comprises a chassis constituted by a beam of triangular section whose side walls 14 are inclined at the optimum angle allowing the insertion of the panel A transported in the gauge of circulation of the track.
  • the side walls 14 of this beam each comprise abutments 15 for retaining the panel A on which is hung here a file of rails 10 of said panel.
  • the handling device or devices which have been used for loading it can be detached from this panel by releasing the hooks 5 and then removed laterally for later collection, if this solution is preferred.
  • the soles 1 of the handling devices used are released from the ballast and the wagon 12 can be moved and brought back onto the track for transporting the loaded panel A and the evacuation of these handling devices.
  • a known working method consists in flattening and leveling the ballast bed intended to receive it in a sufficiently precise and rigorous manner so that one can directly connect them and on site by welding the track rails and panels of this apparatus. It is then necessary to have means allowing the precise positioning of the panels transported on the ballast bed thus prepared.
  • the basic design of the handling device makes it possible to respond to this need in a simple manner.
  • the second embodiment shown in Figure 4 is an example.
  • the handling device comprises members for moving the panel gripped in order to move the latter in the longitudinal direction of the track and in height relative to the sole, and the rail hooking members are mounted movable by translation along the carrying arm.
  • the sole 16 of this device comprises, installed on its extension arm 17, a slide 18 extended along this extension, a bearing 19 mounted movably along this slide and carrying the shaft 20 on which is articulated the carrying arm 21, and a manual lever control by screw-nut 22 to move the bearing 19 along the slide 18.
  • the sole 16 and the carrying arm 21 are here also connected by a cylinder 23 of the same functions than in the first embodiment.
  • the rail hooking members are here constituted by rollers 24 rotatably mounted on shafts perpendicular to the rails carried by lines 25 secured to slides 26 mounted movable by translation along slides 27 extended along the carrying arm 21.
  • the slides 26 can be immobilized in selected positions on the slides 27 by locking screws with operating head 28.
  • pivot 3 (or 20) of articulation of the carrying arm can be provided more offset relative to the sole 1 (or 16) in order to allow the insertion of the latter under the crosspieces 8 of the panel.
  • the switchgear in an excavation prepared for this purpose. This variant can be useful when the sleepers located at the location chosen for the installation of the handling device are at an angle to the perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the track.
  • the motor member capable of spreading or bringing together the sole and the carrying arm is constituted by a simple removable jack supported between the two ends of these two elements, the length of which will be increased accordingly so as to allow the passage of the transport wagon 12 inside the triangle formed by this jack and these two elements of the handling device.
  • the driving member can just as easily be completely independent and brace itself either between the ground and the panel or an element linked to it, or between the sole and the panel or an element linked to that -this.
  • the arrangement shown comprising the permanently installed cylinder 7 (or 23) offers the advantage of easily allowing the sole to be retracted under the wagon, as shown in FIG. 3.
  • the shaft 3 (or 20) of articulation of the carrying arm can be offset both relative to this arm and to the sole, or even only relative to this arm. This for example when the transport of the handling device with the loaded panel is not envisaged. Indeed in this case this articulation shaft can be placed lower, near the ballast, because it is no longer necessary to release the sole upwards.
  • rollers 24 can be replaced by hooks of the kind shown in the first variant.
  • the carrying arm 21 will be slidably mounted along the shaft 20 of its articulation in order to ensure by other means the movement of the panel in the direction of the track.
  • the first two embodiments which have just been described are advantageous by the lightness and the simplicity of their construction. They are suitable when the need they impose to excavate under the panel to be removed at the right of each location of a handling device to be installed is not considered a disadvantage.
  • the handling device can be installed at the planned location without requiring prior excavation.
  • the telescopic and sliding elements of this assembly are controlled by hydraulic cylinders 117, 118 and 119.
  • the cylinder 117 controls the movements of the sheath 108 of the upright 102 along the body of the latter
  • the cylinder 118 controls the movements of the extension 110 of the arm carrying 109
  • the jack 119 controls the movements of the telescopic console 104 of the first upright 102.
  • the slides 113 carrying the rail fastening members 111-112 comprise locking screws with an operating head 120 allowing their immobilization in selected positions on the slides 114.
  • the support sole 103 of the first upright 102 is here mounted adjustable in height with respect to the body of said upright by means of a screw-nut assembly 121, this in order to be able to possibly compensate for significant terrain accidents at this level, but this assembly is not essential.
  • each of the two second uprights 105 is adjustable by means of pins 122 and the two second uprights are held rigidly in a position separated from one another, in the manner of two sides of a bipod, by two flanges 123 connecting their two bodies.
  • the support sole 103 of the first upright 102 of this handling device is intended to be placed, as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, on one side of a track device panel A to be gripped, and the soles of support 106 of the two second uprights 105 are intended to be placed on the other side of said panel.
  • the panel A shown here is a simple switch panel whose section is located in the vicinity of the junction of the two concurrent paths, before the needle.
  • the handling device is placed above the panel A in the configuration shown in FIG. 5, according to a method given as an example which will be described later in relation to FIG. 7.
  • an auxiliary support 124 comprising a piece of rail 125 can be placed in bridge under the two rails of the concurrent track not parallel to those of the other track, to ensure the parallelism of the sockets, this piece of rail 125 being placed in parallel position to the rails of this other track.
  • the attachment of the rails of the panel is facilitated by the possibilities of relative movements between the attachment members along the slides 114, and also by the displacement of the extension 110 of the carrying arm 109, if necessary.
  • the panel A can be lifted and placed in an oblique position, in the working gauge of the track, using the winch 115, in the configuration shown in FIG. 6.
  • this track apparatus panel A can be loaded onto a wagon 126 suitable for its transport, of a type known per se, capable of running on the track using axles, not shown, and motorized tracks 127 capable of running on ballast of the same kind as that already described.
  • wagon 126 is introduced by displacement on the ballast in the longitudinal direction of the track along the platform released by the lifting of the panel, between the carrying arm 109-110 and the two second uprights 105 of the support 101.
  • the side walls of the wagon 126 comprise stops 128 for retaining the panel A, preferably erasable on which is hung here a rail file of said panel. This attachment is here facilitated by the possibility of translational displacement of the sleeve 108 on which the carrying arm 109 is articulated along the first upright 102.
  • the uprights of these devices can advantageously be interconnected, for example using flanged beams, which facilitates the alignment of the pivots 107 and allows a fixed hydraulic supply for the two devices thus coupled while increasing the stability of the assembly.
  • Another advantage inherent in the structure described and which results from the constancy of the distances separating the pivot 107 from the winch 115 and from the mooring point of its rope 116 is that when using at least two coupled handling devices or no, the speeds of movement of the carrying arms 109 of these devices, which must be equal in this case, are easy to control.
  • the handling device or devices which have been used for loading it can be detached from this panel by releasing the hooking members 111-112 and then withdrawn for later collection.
  • the sole 103 of the first upright 102 is firstly raised by extension of the jack 117, which has the effect of raising this upright in the sheath 108. If by this first means, the clearance of this sole is not considered sufficient, it is then possible to increase it by extension of the jack 118 until bringing the slide 113 of the fastening member 111-112 as far as possible close to the pivot 107 of the carrying arm 109, by unlocking this slide beforehand by unscrewing the maneuvering head screw 120.
  • the soles 106 of the second telescopic uprights 105 are manually wound up and immobilized at the height chosen using the pins 122. Finally, if this is deemed necessary, for example so as not to engage the gauge of the track, the telescopic console 104 can be retracted using the jack 119. At this time, the panel A and the handling device are exactly in the configuration shown in this figure 7.
  • This handling device also allows the precise installation of a new panel for its connection with the track in place.
  • FIG. 5 which can also be considered as the configuration for installing a new panel A
  • it can be moved in the transverse direction of the track, either by moving the slides 113 of the members for attaching rails 111-112 to the slides 114, or by moving the extension 110 of the carrying arm 109 using the cylinder 118, or again by the combination of these two means.
  • the displacement of the panel A in height can be done using the jack 117 by displacement of the sheath 108 on the first upright 102 and its inclination by the winch 115.
  • the arrangement of the structures is provided essentially to facilitate the loading of a panel on the transport wagon as well as to also facilitate the precise positioning of the panel on a platform. ballast previously flattened and leveled.
  • the unchanged elements have the same references as in the third embodiment.
  • the first upright 102 ′ of the support 101 of this handling device is here provided so that it can be placed in a vertical position while the two second uprights 105 are identical to those of the third embodiment.
  • connection between the first and the second uprights is here carried out by a telescopic crosspiece 104 'whose element linked to the first upright 102' has a double bend in the shape of a cutaway 129 intended to allow the recording of the device in the track working gauge.
  • the other elements of the apparatus are those of the third embodiment.
  • the only difference is the arrangement, inside instead of outside, of the winch 115 and of the jack 117 for controlling the movement of the sheath 108, this arrangement taking advantage of the space freed on the side of the carrying arm 109 thanks to the verticality of the upright 102 '.
  • This arrangement allows, using the cylinder 117, to move the panel gripped in the vertical direction relative to the plane of the ballast platform.
  • the handling device comprises only a single second upright 105 articulated at the top of the first upright 102.
  • the support sole of this first upright 102 is provided with sufficient width , in the longitudinal direction of the track, to ensure alone the stability of the device, and is rigidly fixed to said first upright.
  • the translation of the pivot 107 along the first upright 102 or 102 ′ can be ensured in another way.
  • this pivot 107 can be mounted on an intermediate support in the form of a sliding frame between these two elements.
  • the two parallel elements of this first upright may be provided telescopic, in combination with the also telescopic design of the second upright (s) as well as of the cross member of the support 101-101 ′, in order to facilitate the handling of the device when it is loaded onto the transport wagon and when it is placed on site.
  • the rail attachment members 111-112 could be designed differently, for example in the form of pairs of retractable rollers intended to take under the head of the rails, this to allow greater displacements of the panel in the longitudinal direction of the way.
