Description

The invention relates to a lamp according to the preamble of claim 1.

A lamp of this type has become known, for example, from DE-A 3011 092. However, this lamp is a hand lamp and DE-A 3011 092 essentially deals with the problem of how the power cord can be used inside the housing.

50019 «e».Luminaires that are to be used as explosion-proof luminaires for zones 1 and 2 or as industrial luminaires must meet certain regulations. Such regulations are, for example, VDE-0165 from 9/83, the British Standard regulations, the so-called UL regulation in the USA and the European standard EN 50018 «d» and 50019 «e».

Such lights are composed of a lower housing part - housing for short - and a translucent protective hood. Currently, metallic enclosures with protective covers made of glass are mainly used in Zone 2 hazardous areas. These lights are highly susceptible to corrosion and have a high weight. The translucent protective hoods are protected with a suitably designed protective basket.

The object of the invention is to provide a lamp of the type mentioned, in which the weight is significantly reduced and in which the susceptibility to corrosion is reduced.

This object is achieved according to the invention by the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.

Due to its surface design, the housing is suitable for higher heat radiation on the one hand, so that essential advantages can already be seen here. If metal is used as the material for the housing, ignitable discharges due to electrostatic charging are not possible. In the case of plastics whose surface resistance is higher than 10 9 ohms, charges can be caused by friction which can be discharged with an energy sufficient to ignite explosive gas, dust and air mixtures. Surface areas are formed with the ribs which have dimensions such that discharges generated or caused by electrostatic charges certainly do not have sufficient energy to ignite the explosive ambient atmosphere. In general, it is expedient to make the statically chargeable surfaces smaller than 100 cm 2 .

Faserarmierung enthalten. To increase the strength of the housing, the plastic can contain fiber reinforcement or fiber reinforcement.

On the end side, i.e. the end of the housing, means are provided for the adjustable mounting of the housing on a wall or on a ceiling or for the adjustable attachment of a handle. Because of these means, which can be, for example, holding brackets or the like, the lamp can be used both as a portable hand lamp and as a ceiling spotlight or can be attached to a mast.

A particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention can be found in the characterizing features of claim 6. In this case, a guideway can be provided in the housing, which guides the insert and on which the insert can be locked, and in addition, a transverse part can be integrally formed on the insert, the dimensions of which correspond to the opening, so that the opening can be closed with the cross part in the form of a cover is.

On the basis of this configuration according to the invention, components which are necessary for the operation of the lamp can be fastened on the insert, so that the assembly and monitoring of these individual components is considerably simplified. Conveniently, connection terminals can be placed on the plug-in unit, so that the subsequent connection or reclamping is made considerably easier. It is then only necessary to pull the insert out of the housing and not, as in the known arrangements, to remove the protective hood in order to access the electrical components arranged inside the housing.

This embodiment according to the invention with the insert can, of course, be used in all types of lights in which a housing with electrical supply elements and a protective hood are provided, which are manufactured separately from one another and are coupled to one another for mounting the light.

A further advantageous embodiment of the invention can be such that the interior of the housing is divided into at least two compartments by at least one intermediate wall, one compartment of which delimits the space accommodating the insert. In this case, a further compartment can be formed by a further bulkhead wall, which is reserved for the insertion of electrical components which serve to ignite and operate the lamp. The partition can be adapted to the components. If, for example, a cylindrical capacitor and a starter are to be inserted into the housing, this intermediate wall can have a curved shape, which at least partially adapts to the contours of the two adjacent elements. This results in an improved position fixation of these two elements.

A further particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention can be found in claims 11 and 12. Fitting the protective hood to the housing always poses special problems. On the basis of the configuration according to the invention, the protective hood can be attached to the housing and initially fixed by rotating it relative to the housing in the manner of a bayonet lock. In addition, the protective hood is fixed to the housing with the locking element, so that the protective hood is definitely prevented from falling off the housing. There is then still the further possibility of connecting the protective hood to the housing via an additional holding element according to the characterizing features of claim 13, this holding element making the protective hood captive in relation to the housing ensures. This embodiment of the invention is also not exclusively applicable to the luminaire of the type mentioned at the outset, but can advantageously also be provided in other types of luminaires in which the luminaire has a housing and a protective hood attached to it. However, the type of fastening is particularly advantageous for use in explosion-proof luminaires, since a prescribed air gap with a corresponding gap width and gap length can additionally be provided between the protective hood and the housing.

Further refinements of the invention can be found in the further subclaims.

The invention and further advantageous refinements and improvements and further advantages of the invention are to be explained and described in more detail with reference to the drawing, in which an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown.

On the side surfaces of the housing 10, extensions 14 and 15 are provided, on which an approximately U-shaped bracket 16 is articulated, with which the lamp can be attached to a mast. At the bottom of the housing 10 there are further connection elements 17, on which a piece of pipe 18 is adjustably attached, with which the lamp can be attached to a wall or a ceiling. The free edge 19 of the housing 10 comprises the free edge 20 of the protective hood 11, with the interposition of a seal (see FIG. 6).

Fig. 6). A step 21 is provided on the inner surface of the housing 10 in the region of the edge 19, to which a mounting plate (support plate) 22 is attached and fastened to it in a manner not shown in FIG. 1 (see FIG. 6). On the side of the mounting plate facing the housing, a clamping element 23 is fastened, which can be designed in the form of a luster terminal and serves for the electrical connection or for the electrical wiring from an external connection (not shown) to a lamp 24. On the side of the support plate 22 facing away from the housing 10, a holder 25 for the lamp 24 is fastened, into which the thread of the lamp 24 can be screwed. The socket 25 carries an internal reflector 26 and on the side of the support plate 22 on which the socket is attached, a microswitch 27 is attached, which cooperates with the free edge 20 of the protective hood 11 and is actuated when the protective hood 11 is removed.

The protective hood 11, which is designed in the form of a pot, is designed on the inner surface of the pot wall 29 with stepped lenses 30 for guiding light and with internal longitudinal grooves 31 for limiting glare, the outer surface being smooth. A ballast 32 for the lamp 24 is fastened on the support plate 22 directly opposite the socket.

On the outer surface of the housing 10 in the region of its edge 19, two protective cage halves 33 and 34 are pivotably attached; the protective cage half 33 is only partially drawn and the protective cage half 34 is shown completely pivoted away. In Fig. 2 both protective cage halves are drawn folded. A more detailed description of the protective cage halves 33 and 34 is not necessary insofar as the structure and purpose of such protective cage halves are known. For the pivotable mounting, a receptacle 35 for each protective cage half 33, 34 is attached to the outer surface of the housing edge 19, which has a recess, not shown, into which hooks 36 formed on each protective cage engage in an articulated manner. In addition, an outer screen 37 can also be provided, the installation of which can be seen in more detail in FIG. 6.

The outer surface of the housing 10 is provided with ribs 38 which are arranged or distributed uniformly on the circumference of the housing - running in the longitudinal direction. As a result, surfaces are formed which do not allow such a static charge, which could lead to an ignitable discharge; the individual surface areas are not larger than 100 cm 2 .

The housing 10 has a circular recess or opening 40 on the side wall, into which an insert 41 can be inserted, on which the clamping modules 42 are fastened. A transverse part 43 is formed on the insert 41, the dimensions of which correspond to the opening 40 and thus serve as a cover for this opening. The outer surface of the cross member 43 has in the same way the grooves or ribs 38, which is indicated in Fig. 2 by the serpentine line. The circular, cylinder-like cross member 43 has a flange-like rim 44, which is adjoined on the inside by a cylindrical extension 45, which has a groove 46 for receiving a seal 47. Together with the boundary surface 48 for the opening, the seal 46/47 forms a so-called vapor-tight seal for the interior of the housing.

Bulkheads 49 and 50 are provided inside the housing; the bulkhead 49, together with the bulkhead 50, partially delimits the space 51 into which the insert 41 is inserted; the two bulkhead walls 49 and 50 together delimit a partitioning space 52 in which an ignition pulse 53 and a capacitor 54 are provided for the supply or ignition of the lamp 24. It can be seen from FIG. 2 that the bulkheads 49 and 50 in the area in which they delimit the space 52 are adapted to the outer circumferential shapes of the ignition pulse 53 and the capacitor 54.

The electrical lines are supplied via the connection elements or extension pieces 14 and 15, which delimit insertion openings 55 for the electrical supply lines (not shown).

Since the protective hood is made of plastic, static charges can form on it. On its circumference there are longitudinal webs 56 (only one web can be seen in FIG. 1) which divide the surface of the protective hood 11 into sections which allow a static charge which is lower than that which could produce ignitable discharges.

On the cross part 43 there is a handle 57 and a fastening screw 58 for fastening the cross part.

The representation in FIGS. 1 to 3 is more schematic, whereas the embodiments shown in FIGS. 4 and ff. Allow the individual details to emerge more clearly. It can be seen in FIG. 4 that the bulkhead 49 forms a single part together with the bulkhead 50 and the housing 10, that is to say it is made in one piece with it, whereas the area of the bulkhead 49 that divides the space 52 represents a separate sub-element that connects with the the area 51 of the bulkhead partitioning the space 51 is firmly connected by means of a screw connection 59. The bulkhead area formed separately from the bulkhead 49 has the reference number 60; this area is exactly adapted to the outer shape of the ignition pulse 53 or the capacitor 54, with recesses 61 and 62 being provided in the bulkhead 60, which have the shape of slots and through which holding straps 63 and 64 for the ignition pulse 53 and are threaded through the capacitor 54.

Fig. 7 shows a sectional view along section line VII-VII. The space 52 in which the capacitor 54 is arranged can be seen. This space 52 is separated from the receiving space 51 for the insert 41 by means of the bulkhead 50. The insert 41 is guided on rails 66 and 67 located in the space 51, the rails 66 and 67 having grooves 68 and 69, into which springs (strips) 70 and 71 formed on the insert 41 engage and slide therein. The free ends of the rails 68 and 69 have inward-facing stop lugs 72, 73 which partially overlap the insert 41. On the insert 41, upstanding stop cams 90 and 91 are to be provided which interact with the stop lugs 72, 73, as a result of which the insert 41 is prevented from being pulled out, but at least is hindered. The cross member 43 is bent according to the circumference of the housing, the rim 44 coming to bear against the outer edge of the opening 40. The cross member 43 is fixed to the housing by means of the fastening screw connection 58.

Die Fig. 7 zeigt den Gehäuseumfang mit den Rippen 38, die nicht wie in Fig. 3 schematisch dargestellt eine Schlängel-Form, sondern tatsächlich eine eckige Zick-Zack-Form besitzen.FIG. 7 shows the housing circumference with the ribs 38, which do not have a snake shape as shown schematically in FIG. 3, but actually have a square zigzag shape.

Es sei nun bezug genommen auf die Fig. 5 und 6.Reference is now made to FIGS. 5 and 6.

The edge area 19 comprises the edge area 20 of the protective hood 11. The protective hood has two adjacent circumferential grooves 74 and 74a, which are parallel to one another, a seal 75 (see also FIG. 1) being inserted in the groove 74. The protective hood 11 has two diametrically opposed, radially outwardly projecting pins 76 (if there are four pins, these are arranged offset by 90 ° on the circumference). The length of the pins 76 is selected such that the distance of the free pin surfaces 77 from the central axis of the protective hood 11 is at least as large as the outer diameter of the rim 19. The rim 19 has hook-shaped recesses 78, as can be seen in FIG. which have an area 79 running in the axial direction of the housing 10 and an adjoining area 80 which is angled at 90 ° thereto and extends in the circumferential direction. Their width is adapted to the diameter of the pin 76. The edge 19 has a circular extension 85 in the area 80, into which a projection 82 is inserted on a locking bush 81 which is held in the extension 85 by means of lugs 86 formed on the projection 82. The locking bushing 81 has a flange-like collar 87 which has a radial axial depression 88. On the outer surface of the edge 19, two ribs 89 extending radially to the extension 85 are provided, offset by 90 °, which are adapted to the recess 88, so that the bushing 81 can be locked in two positions, in which the ribs 89 snap into the recesses 88 . In the area of the projection, the bushing 81 has a slot at 82a (not shown in more detail) adapted to the pin 76 and the recess 78, so that the pin 76 can be moved in and out of the area 80 or in it depending on its position, when the bushing is inserted is held. To connect the protective hood 11 and the housing 10, the protective hood with its pin 76 is inserted into the recesses 78, first in the region 79 in the direction of the central axis of the protective hood and the housing and in the area 80 rotated relative to the housing until the pin 76 comes to the end of area 80. The pins 76 also get into the cylindrical blind hole 92 delimited by the projection 82. To fix the pins and thus to fix the protective hood 11 relative to the housing 10, the locking bushings 81 are rotated by means of a tool by means of a slot 83, whereby the pins are removed from the Protrusion are enclosed and thus an immovable fixing of the pin 76 and the protective hood 11 takes place.

The screen 37 is also fixed simultaneously with the fixing of the protective hood 11 via the pins 76 and the locking bushing 81. This has in the region of the pins 76 bores 84 which are pushed over the pins 76 before the protective hood 11 is attached to the housing.

In order to ensure that the protective hood cannot be lost in relation to the housing, a connecting element 93 is provided which is bendable and on the one hand on the housing 10 and on the other hand on the Protective hood is attached in a manner not shown.
