Definitions

  • the invention relates to a disk channel through which ammunition is guided from a fixed channel to an elevatable firearm, comprising a number of disks rotatable about the elevation axis and provided with openings for the ammunition, the rotation of the disks from the stationary channel to the elevatable weapon being gradually equal Amounts through which a tension and torsion spring element is passed, with a cylindrical housing, on the inner wall of which the disks are guided.
  • the disks are guided at three points on the inner wall of a cylindrical housing. Furthermore, the disks are connected to one another by a gear, the transmission ratio of which decreases from disk to disk. In addition, the disks are connected to each other with the weapon and with the channel by elastic connecting links.
  • Such ammunition feeders are known in a wide variety of embodiments, e.g. to European Patent No. 0041280, British Patents 583410 and 590783. All these ammunition feeders have the disadvantage that they require a relatively large amount of space, are large and heavy.
  • the object that is to be achieved with the present invention is to create a disc channel that is as light and compact as possible and takes up little space, moreover, this disc channel should have a gas-tight housing so that weapons, e.g. are attached outside a turret, with the ammunition inside the turret, no combat gases or exhaust gases can penetrate into the turret.
  • the disk channel enables the supply of ammunition from a stationary, not shown ammunition container via a stationary ammunition channel 13 to a not shown, elevatable firearm, via a second ammunition channel 16 (FIGS. 3 and 4) elevatable with the weapon, in any position of the Firearm.
  • the disk channel has a stationary housing 10, into which the stationary ammunition channel 13 opens and from which the ammunition reaches the elevatable ammunition channel 16.
  • the housing 10 has a cylindrical housing part 11. According to FIG. 3, a disk-shaped wall 12 is attached to one end of the cylindrical housing part 11. At the other end, the housing part 11 is closed off by a second, disk-shaped wall 15, which lies gas-tight on the housing part 11 and can rotate with the firearm about the elevation axis E.
  • a rectangular opening 14 or 17 is cut out in each of the fixed, disk-shaped wall 12 and in the rotatable disk-shaped wall 15.
  • the ammunition from the stationary ammunition channel 13 enters the housing 10 and through the second opening 17, the ammunition from the housing 10 enters the rotatable ammunition channel 16.
  • the two ammunition channels 13, 16 are connected to the disk-shaped walls 12 and 15 welded on.
  • a number of disks 21 are located in the housing 10 of the disk channel. These disks 21, which are all of the same design, each have an approximately rectangular recess or passage opening 29 in which the belted ammunition is guided. The diameter of these disks 21 is smaller than the length of the cartridges 18-20 (FIG. 2), so the projectile tip 22 protrudes from the disks 21.
  • the disks 21 are rotatably supported in the housing part 11.
  • the housing part 11 has an opening 25 which widens from the wall 12 in a funnel shape against the wall 15. This opening is closed by two helically twisted walls 23 and by a cylindrical wall 24.
  • each disk 21 must be rotated by a somewhat larger angle with respect to the adjacent disk 21 when the firearm is being raised.
  • a rod 26 is articulated at one end to the disc-shaped wall 12, and at its other end it is articulated to the other disc-shaped wall 15, as can be seen in FIG. 3.
  • This rod 26 projects through radially directed elongated holes 27 in the disks 21. Since the pivoting is small, it is sufficient it to use rubber joints 28 for the articulated fastening of the rod 26, which are also referred to as rubber buffers.
  • the disc channel shown enables an elevation of 90 degrees. 1, the cartridge 18 shown in its initial position can either be rotated clockwise by 45 degrees, or it can also be rotated counterclockwise by 45 degrees from this initial position. If an elevation of the weapon from the horizon of 90 degrees to the zenith is desired, then the cartridge 18 is already inclined by 45 degrees in relation to the horizon in its starting position. However, if depression of the weapon is desired, the cartridge 18 is slightly less inclined towards the horizon in its starting position.
