Dadurch stützt sich die Stellschraube 29 bei von innen gegen die Verkleidung 24 gespanntem Halteglied 28 auf dem Bolzenteil 12 ab und wirkt damit zusätzlich als Verdrehsicherung für das Bolzenteil 12. 1. Transmission for a rotating and tilting fitting for doors or windows comprising a rotatable handle (4) which is rotationally journalled by means of a spigot-like axle part (8) and which is connected drive-wise to a spindle (2), which is arranged parallel to a leaf edge, and also to a slider part (3) arranged on the spindle or cooperating therewith and displaceable, on rotation of the spindle, to drive a latch device and/or a deployment device, wherein a first gear wheel (5) driven from a handle via an interposed overload clutch (15 - 23) meshes with a further gear wheel (6) arranged on the spindle shaft, and
wherein the overload clutch has the following parts: a coil spring (15) formed as a latch spring;
a plate part displaceable in the direction of the spring travel against which the coil spring is biased and which forms a movable abutment for the coil spring; and
latching elements (19) which are rotationally fixedly connected with the first gear wheel (5) and cooperate with counterlatching elements (20) which are rotationally fixedly connected to the handle (4);

characterized in that
the spindle (2) is arranged in a housing (1) which can be mounted lying on the leaf or on a frame part of the window or of the door;
in that the handle (4) is formed in knob-like manner and the overload clutch is arranged therein; and
in that the axle part (8) is rotationally fixedly connected to the first gear wheel (5) which is rotationally journalled at the housing (1), with the axle part (8) being coupled drive-wise with the handle (4) by means of the overload clutch,
wherein the axle part is formed as a hollow sleeve (8) which accommodates the coil spring (15), and
wherein the plate part (16) which braces the coil spring (15) is rotationally fixedly connected to a plate part (16") surrounding the sleeve (8) with the latching elements (19) being arranged on the plate part (16").
2. Transmission in accordance with claim 1, characterized in that the plate part (16") surrounding the sleeve (8) is formed as a ring-like plate part which is connected with the plate part (16) which braces the coil spring (15) via web parts which pass through axial slots (18) provided in the axle part (8).
3. Transmission in accordance with claim 2, wherein the latching elements and the counter- latching elements cooperate via balls, characterized in that latch cutouts (IQ) are arranged in the ring-like plate part (16") as the latching elements which cooperate with the balls (20), and

Transmission in accordance with one of the claims 1 - 4, characterized in that the first gear wheel (5) is formed in one piece on the end of the sleeve (8) remote from the handle (4), with the gear wheel (5) being radially journalled in a housing bore (10) at its side adjacent the housing (1) by means of a circular thickened portion (9).
6. Transmission in accordance with claim 4 or claim 5, characterized in that the knob-like handle (4) is axially journalled between the circular thickened portion (9) and the counter-pressure plate (21).
7. Transmission in accordance with one of the claims 1 - 6, characterized in that an outwardly pivotable crank handle (7) is arranged on the knob-like handle (4).
8. Transmission in accordance with one of the claims 1 - 7, characterized in that the knob-like handle (4) is arranged with its axis of rotation inclined towards the central region of the door or window in such a way that the contour of the knob-like handle (4) when viewed perpendicular to the door or window plane is arranged on the side pointing towards the central region of the door or window of the edge of the housing (1) which faces away from the central region of the door or window.
