Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a device for winding up printed products resulting in scale formation according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the continuous conveyor which is designed as a belt conveyor pivotably mounted at the rear end, is arranged on the underside of the winding belt and is applied by a pressing mechanism the winding core or the winding formed thereon.
  • the continuous conveyor As the winding diameter increases, not only the angle of attack of the belt conveyor changes, but also the point at which the scale formation together with the winding belt detaches from the belt conveyor and runs onto the winding. This migration of the detachment point cannot be kept under precise control, which means that the winding process takes place under conditions that cannot be predicted easily.
  • This change in the position of the detachment point of the scale formation can be kept within limits if a belt conveyor with a long conveying path is selected, i.e. if the distance between the pivot point of the belt conveyor and the winding core is chosen to be relatively large.
  • a belt conveyor with a long conveying path is selected, i.e. if the distance between the pivot point of the belt conveyor and the winding core is chosen to be relatively large.
  • such a solution has the disadvantage of a correspondingly large overall length.
  • the present invention is based on the object of creating a device of the type mentioned which, with a construction which is as simple and space-saving as possible, leaves great freedom in the structural design and with which the winding operation takes place under given and predetermined conditions. According to the invention, this object is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • the separation point of the printed products from the continuous conveyor remains the same during the winding process.
  • This separation point is precisely defined and usually coincides with the head end of the continuous conveyor.
  • the arrangement of the continuous conveyor according to the invention gives the designer a great deal of freedom not only in the configuration of the continuous conveyor, but also in the choice of the direction in which the printed products are fed to the winding core. It is not only possible to direct the printed products to the winding core from below, but also from the side or even from above.
  • the continuous conveyor can also have a curved course which roughly follows the outer shape of the winding, which enables a space-saving construction.
  • the winding station shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a frame 1, in which a winding core 2 is rotatably mounted in a manner not shown.
  • the axis of rotation of the winding core 2 is denoted by 2a.
  • the storage of the winding core 2 is such that it can be removed without difficulty.
  • the winding core 2 or its shaft is connected via a winder gear 3 to a drive motor 4 and can be driven thereby in the direction of arrow A.
  • the known winding gear 3 is preferably of the type as it is from the company P.I.V. Drive Werner Reimers KG is manufactured and distributed.
  • a winding tape 5 which consists of a suitable tensile material, is connected, which is guided over a conveyor roller 6 and is unwound from a tape reel 7.
  • This reel 7 sits on a shaft 8 mounted in the frame 1 and is freely rotatable in the direction of arrow B.
  • the winding tape 5 continues over two deflection rollers 9 and 10, which ensure that the winding tape 5 rests on the drive roller 6.
  • the latter is driven by the drive motor 4 via the drive connection 11, which is only shown schematically.
  • a feed line 12 which is formed by a belt conveyor and is driven in a manner not shown in detail and feeds the printed products 13 resulting in scale formation S to the winding station.
  • each printed product 13 lies on the preceding printed product, which means that the leading edges 13a of the printed products lie on the top of the scale formation S.
  • a conveyor arrangement 14 Connected to this feed 12, which runs essentially in the horizontal direction, is a conveyor arrangement 14, which feeds through the Belt conveyor 12 feeds printed products 13 to the winding core 2. The structure of this conveyor arrangement 14 will now be described in more detail below, in particular with reference to FIG. 2.
  • the conveyor arrangement 14 has a first belt conveyor 15 and a second belt conveyor 16.
  • the first belt conveyor 15 arranged on the side 5a of the winding belt 5 facing the winding core 2 has a conveyor belt 17 which consists of belts arranged next to one another at a mutual distance.
  • the endless conveyor belt 17 is guided over a rear pulley 18 and around a head pulley 19.
  • the conveying strand 17a of the conveyor belt 17 runs over guide rollers 20 which are rotatably attached to a frame 21 (FIG. 2).
  • the returning run 17b of the conveyor belt 17 is also guided over guide rollers 22 which are mounted on the frame 21.
  • the rear-side deflection roller 18 serves as a drive drum which is set in rotation by the drive motor 4 via the drive connection 23 shown schematically.
  • the guide rollers 20 and 22 are arranged such that the conveyor belt 17 has a curved course.
  • the conveying path defined by the conveying strand 17a has a curve curved towards the winding core 2.
  • the returning run 17b is guided such that it has a course corresponding to the outer shape of the roll W formed on the winding core 2.
  • the second belt conveyor 16 also has a conveyor belt 24 which is formed by belts arranged next to one another at a mutual spacing. The latter are arranged such that they lie opposite the belts of the conveyor belt 17 of the other belt conveyor 15.
  • the conveyor belt 24 is guided over a rear-side deflection roller 25 and a head-side deflection roller 26.
  • the latter is mounted on a support arm 27 (FIG. 2) which is fastened to the frame 21 so as to be pivotable about an axis 27a.
  • a tension spring 28 engages, which strives to bring the deflection roller 26 to bear against the winding core 2 or the winding W.
  • the returning run 24b of the conveyor belt 24 runs over a drive roller 29 which, like the rear-side deflection roller 25, is rotatably attached to the frame 2.
  • This drive roller 29 is driven by the drive motor 4 via the drive connection 11 already mentioned.
  • a deflection roller 30 mounted on the frame 21, over which the returning conveyor belt strand 24b runs.
  • the conveyor-effective strand 24a of the conveyor belt 24 runs from the rear-side deflection roller 25 via the drive roller 18 of the other conveyor belt 17 and from there with the latter via the deflection rollers 20.
  • the two conveyor-effective dreams 1 7a and 24a of the conveyor belts 1 and 24 together form a conveyor channel, whose inlet 31 is in the region of the deflection roller 18 and whose outlet is in the region of the deflection roller 19 of the conveyor belt 17.
  • the winding tape 5 runs along a section of this conveying channel.
  • the winding belt 5 runs from the deflection roller 10 over three deflection rollers 20 and the head-side deflection roller 19 of the conveyor belt 17 and from here under the head-side deflection roller 26 of the other conveyor belt 24 to the outside of the winding W.
  • the motor 4 drives the winding core 2 accelerated via the winding gear 3.
  • the result of this is that the winding tape 5 connected to the winding core 2 is also driven in an accelerated manner.
  • the winding belt 5 is now striving to also accelerate the conveyor roller 6. However, as already mentioned, this is connected to the drive motor 4, which does not permit such acceleration of the conveyor roller 6. This results in the tension in the winding belt 5.
  • the freely rotatable tape reel 7 is braked slightly in a manner not shown in order to keep the tape between the conveyor roller 6 and tape reel 7 taut.
  • the frame 21 which can be pivoted about the axis of rotation 18a of the drive drum 18 is pivoted in the direction of the arrow E.
  • the conveyor arrangement 14 is held in the manner described by the winding belt 5 in contact with the winding W.
  • the position of the inlet 31 and the outlet 32 of the conveyor channel with respect to the two belt conveyors 15 and 16 does not change.
  • the entry and exit points defined by the construction of the conveyor arrangement 14 thus remain unchanged during the winding process.
  • the winding of the printed products 13 3 can thus take place under predetermined and unchanging conditions.
  • the winding tape 5 is looped around the finished winding W a little empty and then fastened.
  • the winding core 2 with the winding W is then replaced by a new, empty winding core 2.
  • the winding device is ready to form a new winding.
  • one of the two belt conveyors namely the belt conveyor 15, is located on the inside of the winding belt 5, i.e. between the latter and the winding core 2 or the winding W, as already mentioned, a separate pressing mechanism can be dispensed with, since the winding tape takes on a pressing function.
  • this arrangement of the belt conveyor 15 permits the most varied of suitable structural designs of this belt conveyor 15 and thus of the entire conveyor arrangement 14.
  • the conveyor path defined by the conveyor arrangement 14 does not necessarily have to be straight, but can have a curved course have what enables a compact construction.
  • the point of detachment of the printed products 13 from the conveyor arrangement 14 is determined by their construction and does not change during the winding.
  • the described configuration of the conveyor arrangement 14 has the further advantage that the feed direction of the printed products 13 to the winding core 2 can be chosen freely, i.e. does not necessarily have to be from below.
  • the printed products 13 fed below the winding core 2 are guided laterally upwards and against the winding core 2.
  • 3 shows another embodiment in which the printed products 13 are fed above the winding core 2 and are then fed to the winding core 2 in the downward direction by the conveying arrangement 14.
  • FIG. 3 The structure of the winding device shown in FIG. 3 corresponds in principle to the winding device according to FIGS. 1 and 2. Corresponding or identical parts are therefore designated in FIG. 3 with the same reference number as in FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the rear-side deflection roller 18 of the internal conveyor belt 17 is not driven, but rather is only rotatably mounted in the frame 1.
  • This conveyor belt 17 is driven by a drive roller 33 rotatably mounted in the frame 1, via which the returning run 17b is guided.
  • a drive drum 34 is provided, over which the conveyor 24a of the conveyor belt 24 runs.
  • the deflection rollers 20, 22 and 30 are arranged on a frame, not shown, which can be pivoted about the axis of rotation 34a of the drive rollers 34.
  • the drive of the winding core 2, the conveyor roller 6 for the winding belt 5 and the drive rollers 33 and 34 of the conveyor belts 17 and 24 takes place in the same way as described with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.
  • the conveyor arrangement 14 is held in contact with the winding core 2 or the winding W by the winding belt 5, which runs over the head-side deflection roller 19 of the conveyor belt 17.
  • the outside belt conveyor 16 could possibly be dispensed with.
  • the winding belt 5 would then take over the function of the conveyor belt 24 of this external belt conveyor 16, which would mean that the printed products 13 would be held between the winding belt 5 and the conveyor belt 17 and thus conveyed to the winding core 2.
