Definitions

  • the invention relates to an ammunition container for belted ammunition which is divided into a number of compartments by partition walls, the partition walls being formed by a fixed fixed wall and a pivotable spring wall and which has a removal opening at the upper end of a container wall.
  • An ammunition container of this type is known (see US-A-2 874 615) in which all the partition walls are hinged to the container bottom, each partition wall having at its upper end a locking axis with which the partition wall is locked to the side walls.
  • Each locking axis has so-called ball catches at both ends, which snap into recesses on the side walls and thereby hold the partition walls in a vertical position.
  • An ammunition container of this type is also known (see US-A-4 393 746) for taped ammunition, which is divided into a number of compartments by pivotable partition walls and which has a removal opening at the upper end of a container wall, each partition wall being provided by a fixed fixed wall and a pivot wall is formed.
  • the object to be achieved with the present invention is to provide an ammunition container in which the removal of the ammunition is facilitated so that smaller tensile forces are required when pulling out the cartridge belt from the ammunition container.
  • the risk of the layers of the cartridge belt interfering with one another when being pulled out should be reduced.
  • the ammunition container 10 consists of a base 11, four walls 12-15 (see also FIG. 2) and a number of partitions 16-19 which subdivide the container 10 into a corresponding number of compartments 20-24.
  • This design of the ammunition container 10 is conventional. He f indungsgemäss
  • this ammunition container being fixed wall 16a-19a and spring wall 16b-19b differs from known ammunition containers of this type in that each of the partitions is divided in a lower solid wall 16a-19a and a spring wall 16b-19b 16-19, respectively, by a spring plate 16c-19c are connected to each other.
  • the fixed wall 16a-19a is rigidly installed in the ammunition container 10 and the spring wall 16b-19b can be pivoted about the spring plate 16c-19c.
  • spring plates 16c-19c are not all at the same distance from the container base 11, but, as seen from FIG. 1, are always further away from the base 11 from left to right, so that when the spring walls 16b-19b are pivoted, they move into reach an inclined plane which approximately forms a diagonal of the container 10.
  • each spring wall 16b-19b a locking axis 25 is attached, which has a sleeve 26 (Fig. 2 and 3).
  • a sleeve 26 In this sleeve 26 two bolts 27 and 28 are slidably mounted, between which there is a spring 29.
  • This spring 29 tends to press the two bolts 27 and 28 away from each other against the walls 14 and 15 of the ammunition container 10.
  • the walls 14 and 15 each have a bore 30, 31, into each of which a pin 32, 33 of the bolts 27 and 28 is pushed by the force of the spring 29, as a result of which the locking axis 25 and the spring wall 16b-19b attached thereto against any Pivoting is secured.
  • a lever 34, 35 is also attached to each bolt 27 and 28 and protrudes through a helical slot 36, 37 of the sleeve 26.
  • These levers 34 and 35 can be pivoted by a cartridge 38 from the position shown in FIG. 2 into the position shown in FIG. 3.
  • the bolt 27, 28 with the pin 32, 33 is moved from the locked position according to FIG. 2 to the unlocked position according to FIG. 3, whereby the spring wall 16b- 19b can be pivoted.
  • the two different positions of the lever 34 can also be seen in FIG. 1.
  • the compartments 20-24 there are taped cartridges 38 which are pulled out in a conventional manner from the opening 39 of the ammunition container 10 and fed to a firearm, not shown. These taped cartridges 38 are filled in the zigzag layers in the compartments 20-24 in the usual way.
  • the mode of operation of the ammunition container 10 described is as follows: when the cartridges 38 are removed from the container 10, the compartment 24 is first completely emptied. When the cartridge belt is pulled out of the adjacent compartment 23, the lever 34 is pivoted on the spring wall 19b and the lock 25 is unlocked. The weight of the cartridges 38 causes the spring wall 19b to be inclined to the right from the vertical position, as can be seen in FIG. 1. In an analogous manner, the remaining spring walls 16b-18b are also pivoted to the right as soon as a compartment 20-23 is emptied. When pivoting the spring walls 16b-19b, the spring plates 16c-19c form roundings, which considerably facilitate the removal of the belted cartridges 38. As soon as all compartments are empty, all partition walls can swivel back vertically into their starting position under the spring action of the spring plates 16c-19c.
