Definitions

  • the invention relates to the use of a hearing aid device as a headset for a hearing impairment training device, the hearing aid having a housing in which a sound inlet opening is provided, through which sound signals impinging from outside are passed on to a microphone located in the housing, with the aid of amplifiers likewise accommodated in the housing amplified and fed to the hearing of a wearer by means of a handset via a sound line hose and an ear olive, a connection with contacts for connection to a signal line to the handset (audio input) being attached to the housing.
  • US-A-38 19 860 also describes an intercom for aircraft pilots. This intercom suppresses ambient noise and is used to transmit messages between an aircraft and a ground station. The sound that the pilot generates while speaking is transmitted via the pilot's nasopharynx to a microphone inserted in the ear, where it is converted into electrical signals and then transmitted to the ground station using a wireless transmitter. So this device is not a hearing aid of the type mentioned.
  • DE-C 967 080 discloses a method for setting the basic characteristics of hearing aids and devices for carrying out the method.
  • a signal derivation from the hearing aid microphone via a preamplifier is provided for recording on a magnetic sound carrier.
  • the hearing aid has no sound signal connection between the microphone and the output stage.
  • a sound signal recorded via the microphone of the hearing aid can only be reproduced at intervals with a sound recording device via the output stage of the hearing aid.
  • the sound recording device has additional amplifiers for recording and playback.
  • the known connections for electrical signals are used in particular to introduce signals from an external microphone, for example one that is located in a telephone receiver or that is part of an auditory training device.
  • an external microphone for example one that is located in a telephone receiver or that is part of an auditory training device.
  • sound signals from other signal generators such as radio and television receivers, can also be introduced directly into hearing aids.
  • the object of the invention is to simplify the space amplifiers provided for each student seat in that no separate headset is required at the student seats.
  • the space amplifier previously required in hearing training devices can be significantly simplified when using hearing devices with a connection for deriving signals from the microphone (audio output). Except for a microphone amplifier with student talk button, all other parts that were previously necessary can be omitted. In addition to adjusting the different microphone levels, all other functions of the usual place amplifiers can be taken over by the hearing aid. Furthermore, no headset (combination of handset and microphone) is required at the student seats.
  • the microphone amplifier is also replaced by the hearing aid amplifier in the hearing aid device.
  • the student's speaking button is taken over to switch on the respective hearing aid microphone from the school system into the connecting line to the hearing aid, only the actual connection coupling remains of the known equipment of the student places.
  • 1 shows the overall view of a hearing aid device to be worn behind the ear and equipped according to the invention
  • 2 shows a section of the housing part of the device to which the connection contacts are attached
  • 3 shows the connection contact piece
  • 4 in a circuit example, the arrangement of the contacts
  • 5 shows in schematic block diagrams the use of devices which are designed according to the preceding figures.
  • FIG. 1 denotes a hearing aid, the housing 2 of which contains the individual parts of the electrical structure and is worn over the upper attachment of an ear 4 by means of a hook 3.
  • This device works in the usual way by amplifying sound that enters through an opening 5, via a circuit as shown in FIG. 4, and is supplied to the hearing of the wearer via a switching line hose 6, which is anchored in the ear canal by means of an ear olive becomes.
  • signals to be reproduced can also be supplied to the device 1 via a connection 10. These signals are recorded, for example, in a microphone 47 (FIG. 5) which is part of an auditory training system.
  • the supply takes place via a line 11.
  • the device 1 has a connecting piece 12 (FIG. 3), on which is located Contacts 13, 14 and 15 are located.
  • the contacts 13 to 15 and 13.1 and 14.1 are followed by lines 16, 17 and 18 and 16.2 and 17.2 in the interior of the device, which represent the actual connections with the corresponding parts 20 to 24 of the circuit of the hearing device 1.
  • the contact 15 represents a common line for signals that are to reach the receiver 20 and that are to be derived from the microphone 21.
  • the actual signal lines represent the line 16 for the signal line, ie the audio input, the line 17 and for the sound signal line, ie the audio output.
  • the hearing aid 1 comprising a microphone 21, an amplifier 22 with a preamplifier part 22.1, a volume control 23 and a power amplifier part 23.1 and a receiver 20 is per se of a conventional type, the energy being supplied from a current source 24, for example a small battery.
  • a signal recorded in the microphone 21 can be taken from the hearing device 1 between the contacts 13 and 15 or 13.1 and 15 depending on the wiring.
  • the decrease behind the preamplifier 22.1 is advantageous in order to prevent crosstalk from occurring or to adapt the output power to different cable capacities of the system.
  • the amplifier 22 operates as a linear amplifier without influencing the frequency and generally without influencing the dynamics.
  • the signal between contacts 13 and 15 can be picked up from the entire amplifier or 13.1 and 15 from part of it, it is also possible to route the signal through the entire amplifier 22 by connecting between 14 and 15 by connecting between 14.1 and 15 only via the volume control 23 and the power amplifier 22.2.
  • the choice of the connection can be adapted to the existing conditions.
  • 30 denotes the teacher station of an ear training system.
  • student stations 31 to 34 are connected.
  • Hearing aid devices 35 to 37 are located at the student stations 31 to 33 and are designed according to the invention.
  • Pupil 34 is vacant.
  • the student seats 31 to 34 each contain a place amplifier 38 to 41 and a push button switch that serves as a talk button 42 to 45.
  • a corresponding key 46 is also accommodated between the teacher microphone 47 and the teacher position amplifier 48.
  • the connecting lines 11 between the student places 31 to 34 and the respective hearing aids 1 represent detachable connecting lines. 17.1 and 18.1 of line 11 are connected via connection 10 to student places 31 to 34 and teacher place 30.
  • the function of the training device does not differ from that of conventional training devices.
  • the main difference is that instead of the headphones and microphone sets which are generally used, hearing aids 1 designed according to the invention are used.
  • the hearing can be optimally designed by the individual adaptation of the devices 1 and, on the other hand, no additional microphones need to be set up, because the students' microphones 21 and the teacher microphone 47 are sufficient for using the system. If one of the participants wants to speak a contribution into the system, he presses his talk button and closes one of the switches 42 to 46. Then the respective microphone 21 or 47 becomes effective via corresponding amplifiers 22 or 38 to 41 or 48, so that a Signal comes via line 18.1 to the respective listener 20 of a student hearing aid 1.
