Abstract

The storage cabinet comprises a plurality of superposed storage compartments pivoting about horizontal axes to pass from an open position to a closed position, and vice-versa. Each compartment is in the shape of a trough with a bottom part constituted by a portion of cylinder and two lateral end walls. Each trough is provided at its rear part with a tongue piece which extends inwardly substantially perpendicularly to the bottom wall of the trough and ensures, in the trough closed position, a continuity with the bottom wall of the lower adjacent trough, so that in the closed position, each trough is entirely closed.

Description

The present invention relates to a storage box with multiple storage compartments, comprising a frame in which are mounted several aligned storage compartments capable of each having a first closed position and a second open position, the storage compartments being distributed according to at least two superimposed rows and having the form of buckets pivoting around parallel horizontal axes mounted in the frame, each bucket having a bottom wall constituted by a cylinder portion and two end side walls.

Various boxes or storage units are known, comprising a set of compartments intended for storing loose objects of various types such as tools, spare parts, or the like. Due to the plurality of compartments, it is possible to classify the objects according to their type, each compartment possibly comprising only objects of the same type.

When you want to quickly choose from various objects placed in different compartments, for example among various pieces of the same kind, but stored in different compartments because of their classification, for example according to size or shape, it is often long and tedious to search successively in the various compartments which are generally made in drawers or the like. In addition, the furniture or storage boxes with drawers are not always sufficiently compact or do not allow easy access to the objects stored in the drawers. In particular, when two superimposed adjacent drawers are open simultaneously, it is no longer possible to have access to the interior of the drawer below, since the bottom of the upper drawer covers the opening of the lower drawer. The search for a room or an object among a multiplicity of compartments in conventional furniture or storage boxes thus often turns out to be relatively long.

Also known from US Pat. No. 1,883,776 are storage units comprising a set of superimposed storage compartments constituted by buckets pivoting about parallel horizontal axes, the opening and closing of the buckets being able to be carried out. simultaneously by means of a rod, such a type of storage cabinet proves however not very practical in practice because the storage volume and the opening angle of the buckets are limited. The overall height of the cabinet is also relatively large, and the objects placed in the buckets can easily escape from the rear in the closed position of the latter.

The object of the invention is to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks and to produce a storage box with multiple storage compartments which is both compact. easy to manufacture and convenient to use and which allows quick access to each of the storage compartments, thanks to an almost instantaneous passage from the closed position to the open position of each of the compartments, and which offers a volume of. large storage in perfectly closed containers in the closed position and with excellent accessibility in the open position.

Ces buts sont atteints grâce à un coffret de rangement à compartiments de rangement multiples selon la revendication 1.These aims are achieved by means of a storage box with multiple storage compartments according to claim 1.

The provision of storage compartments in the form of pivoting buckets ensures greater opening or closing speed than with sliding drawers and also gives excellent accessibility to the various compartments, even when these are all in position. opened. According to an advantageous embodiment, the opening or closing of all the compartments can also be carried out simultaneously, which further increases the speed of searching for the objects placed in the box, the box automatically transforming into a display when 'it is in the open position.

More specifically, according to the invention, each bucket pivoting about a horizontal axis has a bottom wall constituted by a cylinder portion and two end side walls, and the bottom wall has a section view in a plane perpendicular to the pivot axis of the bucket, a first rear part of radius gradually increasing from the rear free end of the bottom wall, with respect to a center of curvature w, a second main part of radius substantially constant by with respect to said center of curvature, and a third substantially straight front part, the first, second and third parts being connected to each other successively without discontinuity.

According to a particular embodiment, said first rear part comprises, from the rear free end of the bottom wall a first substantially straight portion of short length and a second curved portion having a radius substantially constant with respect to a second center of curvature located above the pivot center of the bucket in a vertical axial plane and the radius of the second curved portion is slightly less than the radius of the second main part, the center of curvature being located halfway between the second center of curvature and the center of pivoting and slightly in front of them.

The first part has an angular opening between about 50 ° and 80 ° and the second part has an angular opening between about 140 ° and 160 °.

The bottom wall portion of smaller radius has a minimum radius of the order of 75 to 85% of the radius R of the second main part and the substantially straight third part has a length of the order of 100% to 140% of the radius R of the second main part.

In the closed position of the bucket, the connection zone between the third part and the second part is situated substantially in a horizontal plane passing through the pivot axis of the bucket.

En position fermée du godet, la troisième partie est inclinée vers l'intérieur du godet par rapport à la verticale d'un angle compris entre environ 4° et 8° et de préférence voisin de 5°.In the closed position of the bucket, the third part is inclined towards the inside of the bucket relative to the vertical by an angle of between approximately 4 ° and 8 ° and preferably close to 5 °.

In the closed position of the bucket, the free end of the first part of the bottom wall is located in a plane making an angle of between approximately 25 and 35 ° relative to the horizontal plane passing through the axis containing the second centers of curvature .

The distance between two superposed buckets is substantially equal to twice the radius of the second part of the bottom wall of a bucket.

The free end of said third part may be provided with a gripping rod or with a gripping edge curved outward.

The inner wall of the bottom of the cups is rigid and smooth.

Snap-fastening means are produced in the internal wall at the bottom of the buckets in the vicinity of vertical planes to receive removable vertical partitions parallel to the lateral end faces of the buckets.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the means for blocking a bucket comprise at least one boss formed on a rod secured to an ear which is itself secured to the rear part of the bottom wall of the bucket and at least two spaced bosses one from the other on a part integral with the frame and arranged along the stroke of the boss of the rod when the bucket moves from its closed position to its open position.

The different aligned and superimposed buckets can be integral with the same rod causing simultaneous opening and closing of all the buckets.

As can be seen in Figures 1 and 2, a storage box 100 according to the invention comprises a frame 110 with a rear panel 111, side panels 112.113, a bottom 117, an upper cover panel 116 and legs 114 , 115. The frame 110 defines a piece of furniture or vertical box which can be adapted to be placed on the ground or on a piece of furniture, suspended from a wall, or easily transported if it is provided with a handle and / or casters.

As can be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, the storage compartments 10, 20, 30, 40 are made up by receptacles in the form of buckets which can pivot around horizontal axes mounted in a vertical plane on the lateral faces 112, 113 of the frame 110, in order to pass from a closed storage position (FIG. 1) to an open position for presenting the objects arranged in the receptacles 10, 20, 30, 40 (Figure 2).

Each bucket, which comprises a bottom 210 constituted by a straight cylinder portion, the axis of which is constituted by the pivot axis, and two end side walls 240, 250, can also be divided into several compartments by partitions. vertical 260 parallel to the end side walls 240, 250. Thus, in FIG. 2, we see the buckets 20 and 30 each divided into two compartments 21, 22, respectively 31, 32 by a partition 260, while the bucket 40 is itself divided into three compartments 41, 42, 43 by two intermediate partitions. Several independent buckets could also be mounted in each of the superimposed rows, the axes of the buckets of the same row being aligned.

The structure of a bucket will now be described in more detail, with reference to FIGS. 3, 5 and 8. The general structure of each of the superimposed buckets 10. 20, 30, 40 being the same, only the structure of the bucket will be described 10. The closed position of the bucket 10 is shown in these figures in solid lines while the open position 10a of the bucket 10 is shown in broken lines.

The bottom 210 of a pivoting receptacle 10 in the form of a cup constitutes a portion of cylinder with, from the rear edge 219. a first part 211 which extends over an arc of angular opening of between approximately 50 ° and 70 °, the distance from the various points of the first part 211 to the axis 1 of the bucket 10 being increasing from the free end 219. The terminal part adjacent to the free end 219 can moreover be substantially rectilinear. The bottom 210 has, following the first part 211 of increasing radius, a second circular main part 212 centered on the axis 1 and of radius R substantially constant. Finally, the bottom 210 of a bucket has, following the main part 212, a third substantially straight part 213 which is connected approximately tangentially to the main part 212. The third part 213 is connected to the main part 212 substantially in a horizontal axial plane when the bucket 10 is in the closed position. The third portion 213 which is substantially rectilinear is advantageously slightly inclined towards the inside of the bucket, by an angle α of between approximately 4 to 8 ° relative to the vertical, when the bucket 10 is in the closed position. The main part 212 of the bottom 210 preferably extends over an arc 13 ranging from about 140 ° to 160 °. The rear end 219 of the bottom 210 is preferably located at a distance from the axis of the bucket, which constitutes from 70 to 80% of the radius R of the main part 212, and, in the closed position of the bucket, the passing axial plane by the end 219 preferably makes an angle between 15 and 30 ° relative to the horizontal. The length of the third part 213 is itself preferably between approximately 1.3 and 1.4 times the length of the radius R of the circular main part 212.

With the configuration described above, the different rows of buckets 10, 20, 30, 40 can be superimposed in a very compact manner, with spacings whose length is of the order of magnitude twice the radius R of the main circular parts 212 of the bottom walls of the buckets 10, 20, 30, 40. The reduction in the radius of the first parts 211 in fact makes it possible to take into account the thickness of the bottom walls 210 and not to limit the tilting forward when the buckets are open.

When opening, the buckets 10, 20, 30 tilt forward by pivoting around the axes 1, 2, 3 at an angle between about 50 and 70 ° to come into the position 10a, 20a, 30a shown in dotted lines in FIG. 3. In the open position, the end 219a of the first part 211 of the bottom wall 210 is practically situated in a vertical axial plane, while the third part 213 remains inclined upwards d 'an angle between about 25 and 45 °, which prevents objects placed in the bucket 10 to escape.

The end side walls 240, 250, as well as the possible partitions 260 of the buckets 10, 20. 30, 40 advantageously end in an upper edge 230 which, in the closed position of the buckets, has a first horizontal rectilinear part 231 extending from the rear free end 219 of the bottom wall 210 to the vicinity of the vertical axial plane of the bucket, and a second curved part 232 which may be concave or convex, and connects the straight part 231 to the front free end of the bottom wall 210. This configuration ensures both a good filling coefficient of the buckets and an easy grip of the objects in the open position of the buckets.

The free end 214 of the front part 213 of the bottom wall 210 may be slightly curved outwards and may be provided, at least over part of its length, with a stiffening rod facilitating gripping for opening or closing the bucket, The external face of the bottom wall 210 may have a projection 222 which allows the free front end 214 of the bottom wall 210 of the lower bucket to be embedded in the closed bucket position. The external face of the bottom wall 210 may have a projection 222 which allows the front free end 214 of the bottom wall 210 of the lower bucket to be embedded in the closed bucket position.

At various locations distributed in the bottom of the buckets, latching means such as ribs 216, 217 or pins 218 can be provided to allow the fixing of removable partitions 260 in vertical planes parallel to the end walls 240, 250 (Figures 5 and 8). In general, the internal surface of the bottom wall 210 of the same bucket compartment is preferably smooth and rigid. Added to the fact that the center of gravity of the buckets changes little position when opening the buckets and does not cause an overhang, this contributes to prevent tipping of objects inside the buckets when the position changes. these.

At the rear part of each bucket, an ear 220 is fixed to the external face of the bottom wall 210 in the vicinity of the connection zone between the first part 211 and the main part 212 of the bottom wall 210. As can be see it in more detail in FIGS. 3.9.10 and 11, projecting parts 321 of a vertical rod 320 are engaged in orifices 221 of the ears 220 secured to the cups 10, 20, 30. This contributes to ensuring a movement of simultaneous tilting of the buckets 10, 20, 30. Thus, the operation of the end 214 of a single bucket, for example of the upper bucket 10, the free front end 214 of the bottom wall is provided with stiffening means , is sufficient to instantly cause the opening or closing of all of the buckets 10, 20, 30.

The rod 320 is provided with locking means which make it possible to maintain the buckets 10, 20, 30 in the open or closed position. According to a particular embodiment, bosses 131, 132 are formed on a vertical piece integral with the frame 110, for example in the vicinity of a lateral side 112, 113 and / or of the bottom 111 of the frame 110. A boss 322 is also formed on a rod face 320 capable of coming to bear on the bosses 131 or 132 during the travel of the rod 320 between its high position of opening of the buckets 10a, 20a, 30a and its low position of closing of the buckets 10, 20.30. The rod 320 is mounted with a certain clearance relative to the frame 110, both relative to the bottom wall 111 of the frame 110 parallel to the vertical plane containing the axes of rotation 1, 2.3 of the buckets 10, 20, 30 and relative to the frame part 113 carrying the fixed bosses 131, 132.

In the open position of the buckets 10a, 20a, 30a, the boss 322 of the movable rod 320 is located above the fixed upper boss 131 which constitutes a retainer. To move to a closed position, the rod 320 must be pushed down so that the boss 322 passes over the fixed upper boss 131 then over the fixed lower boss 132 which constitute two hard points when maneuvering the buckets. In the lower position of the rod 320 (in dotted lines in FIG. 11) corresponding to the closing of the buckets 10. 20, 30, the boss 322 is retained by the fixed lower boss 132. Thus, the bosses 131, 132 constitute means of blocking of buckets in open or closed position. However, it is possible to act easily against the locking means by a simple accentuation of the force exerted manually by the user on the buckets, which guarantees ease of handling.

Two rods 320 connected to ears 220 of buckets 10, 20, 30, and having locking means 322 can be arranged at the rear of the box 1 in the vicinity of the lateral faces 112, 113 of the frame (FIG. 8). It is of course possible to use a different number of rods 320. Similarly, the number of blocking means 322, 131, 132 may be different from the number of buckets 10, 20, 30. In the case where the opening and closing of each bucket 10, 20, 30 must be able to be carried out independently when maneuvering the other buckets, it is however necessary to associate with each bucket its own locking means.

The structure of the frame 110 of the storage box according to the invention can have various forms. In FIG. 4, it can be seen that the pivot axes 1, 2, 3 of the buckets 10, 20, 30 are mounted in bearings supported by a network of rods 120 defining recessed parts 118 and projecting parts 119, the parts protruding 119 being located at the front end portions 214 of the bucket bottoms.

A fixed support bar 270 can be fixed on the upper wall 116 of the frame 110 to facilitate the opening of the buckets using a rigid bar 215 secured to the free end 214 of the bottom 210 of the upper bucket 10. The box can be equipped for example with a retractable and removable handle 150 (FIGS. 4 and 7). An adjustable base 141, 143 can also be mounted at the base of the box 100 using hinges 121 secured to the side faces 112, 113 of the frame. The foot 141 can be placed in the working position and rest on a support by its underside 143 or be retracted and folded back into the base of the cabinet when for example the cabinet is suspended from a wall (position in broken lines in FIG. 6) .

There is no limit to the number of rows of buckets that can be stacked. Thus, in Figures 1 and 2 there are shown four rows of buckets while Figures 3 and 4 show only three rows of buckets. A higher number of rows is possible. Similarly, the dimensions of the buckets 10, 20, 30 may vary depending on the applications envisaged. For a bolts storage case for example, the buckets will be of smaller dimensions than for a tool or office supplies storage case for example. Furthermore, the storage box according to the invention lends itself to being produced in modular form, from a set of buckets of given dimensions. Superimposed rows of storage cups can also be arranged back to back or along the faces of a parallelepiped. In this case, each pivoting bucket can be equipped with individual means for locking in position, or if preferred, it is possible to cause the simultaneous opening and closing of all the storage buckets as in the case of stacked buckets in a single plane, thanks to a linkage joining all the buckets. The various bucket panels can also retain independent linkages, so that all the buckets on one side are opened or closed simultaneously without acting on the buckets constituting the other sides of the storage assembly.

The shape of the buckets, which, seen in section perpendicular to the pivot axis, resembles a spiral, can have various modifications. Thus, the bottom wall 210 could be formed by a polygonal or broken line substantially along the continuous line shown in Figure 5. However, as already indicated, it is advantageous that the inner surface of the wall bottom 210 is smooth and without discontinuity in the direction perpendicular to the pivot axis 1, as this avoids overturning or mixing of the objects placed in the buckets during the opening or closing movements of the buckets. If the bottom wall 210 has been divided into three parts for the convenience of the description, in practice, there is no discontinuity between the three successive zones described and each bucket can have a contour having a progressive evolution.

The buckets can advantageously be made, for example, of plastics material, but lend themselves to manufacture from any other material having sufficient rigidity.

On a représenté sur la figure 12 un mode préférentiel de réalisation de godet qui définit en position fermée des godets, un espace de rangement totalement clos tout en permettant une excellente accessibilité aux objets contenus dans les godets, en position ouverte de ces derniers. ainsi qu'une bonne visibilité, du fait de l'existence d'une partie terminale rectiligne 213 non galbée.FIG. 12 shows a preferred embodiment of a bucket which defines, in the closed position of the buckets, a completely closed storage space while allowing excellent accessibility to the objects contained in the buckets, in the open position of the latter. as well as good visibility, due to the existence of a rectilinear terminal portion 213 which is not curved.

Total closure of the buckets in position relieved of these is provided by additional movable partitions 280 integral with the bottom walls of the buckets and extending outward substantially perpendicular to the bottom walls. Each additional movable partition 280 is in a horizontal plane in the open position of the buckets and, in the closed position of the buckets, ensures continuity with the bottom wall 210 of the adjacent lower bucket. The additional movable partitions 280 may be slightly bent upwards at their rear part 281 which cooperates with the rear free end 219 of the bottom wall 210 of the lower adjacent bucket. In the closed position of the buckets, each bucket is thus completely closed and objects cannot escape. In the open position of the buckets, the rear of a bucket also remains closed thanks to the cooperation between the free end 219 of the bottom wall of the bucket and the projection 222 of the upper adjacent bucket.

The embodiment of Figure 12 further shows a bucket whose center of curvature w and the center of gravity are slightly offset forward relative to the pivot axis Ω, which facilitates the opening of the full buckets . More precisely, said first rear part (211) comprises, from the free end (219) of the bottom wall, a first substantially straight portion of short length (211a) and a second curved portion (211b) having a radius R'1 substantially constant with respect to a second center of curvature w 'situated above the pivot center il of the bucket in a vertical axial plane, the radius R'1 of the second curved part (211b) is slightly less than the radius R2 of the second main part (212) and the center of curvature ω is located halfway between the second center of curvature o and the pivot center Ω, and slightly in front of the latter.

With such a configuration, it suffices to block the buckets in their closed position while the latter can spontaneously come to be placed in the open position as soon as the blocking is unlocked in the closed position.

Note also that the frame has at its upper part a recess 180 substantially parallel to the tabs 280 placed in the closed position of the buckets and intended to cooperate with the bottom wall of the upper bucket in order to ensure the complete closure of this bucket when in the raised closed position.

In Figure 12, the buckets are shown in solid lines in the open position tilted forward and in broken lines in the raised closed position.
