Definitions

  • the invention relates to a safety belt for night-time personal protection in road traffic according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Such safety belts are known from US-A-2709 393.
  • the well-known safety belt is accommodated in a cylindrical housing, the pull-out band being wound on a spool which is mounted and can be unrolled on one side against a spring force.
  • the housing body contains a longitudinal slot from which the band can be pulled out.
  • a nose on the housing body secures the end of the tape against being drawn into the housing.
  • This safety belt is used to protect people who are walking on dark or poorly lit streets in the dark. Pedestrians are often not recognized or recognized too late by motorists without special protective measures, so that many accidents involving personal injury can be attributed solely to poor visibility or a lack of detection means.
  • the invention has for its object to improve the usability of the known safety belt, to reduce the height and to make the manufacture cheaper. This object is achieved by the features of claim 1.
  • the safety belt according to the invention has the advantage that the spring travel is considerably reduced and the overall height of the housing body can thereby be reduced. This also reduces the manufacturing costs of the safety belt. De the band is pulled halfway out of the housing body with both hands, the belt is extremely easy to handle, separate security measures on the housing body against undesired band retraction into the housing body are not required.
  • the invention also has the advantage that the rolled-up safety belt takes up little space and can therefore be a constant companion for pedestrians. When tied around the body, the band is not a hindrance, and since it is always under tension, it adapts to all body sizes.
  • the safety belt 1 consists of a cylindrical housing body 2, which is closed on one end with a cover 3 and on the other end with a housing cap 4, which forms the spring housing.
  • a chain 8 is attached to the housing cap, to which, inter alia, a keychain can be attached.
  • the cylindrical housing body 2 has two mutually opposite slots 6a and 6b (FIG. 4) on the cylinder wall, through which the ends of the reflective tape 5 pass.
  • the reflective tape 5 is, for example, a coated fabric.
  • the ends of the band are connected to the parts 7a, 7b of a buckle of any kind, which also ensure that the ends of the band are not drawn into the housing and which can serve as pull-out handles for the spring-loaded band 5.
  • a spool 9 is housed in the housing body 2, which has a longitudinal slot lo passing through the spool body, which extends, for example, up to an end face 9a (FIG. 3) of the spool body, so that the tape 5 according to FIG. 3 can be easily threaded can.
  • the cover 3 is then preferably provided on the inside with a recess 12 which supports the coil end 9a and prevents the coil from spreading.
  • the closure cap 4 contains the spring 14, one end 14a (FIG. 5) of which engages in the second slotted end 9b of the bobbin 9. 2, the coil former 9 carries an annular flange 13 which separates the band 5 from the spring 14.
  • the cap 4 has an eyelet 28 on the outside, to which, for example, the chain 8 of the key fob 17 is attached.
  • the housing cap 4 is preferably provided on the inner wall with a recess 11 which supports the second coil end 9b on all sides and in turn prevents spreading of the slotted coil body.
  • the reflector tape is pulled centrally through the slotted bobbin 9.
  • FIG. 3 also shows the spring 14 with its two bearing points 14 a for engagement in the front end 9 b of the coil and 14 b for support in the spring housing 4.
  • Fig. 4 shows the cylindrical housing body 2 with the two longitudinal slots 6a and 6b, which preferably extend to the end face of the housing body, over which the spring housing 4 is pushed. This greatly facilitates the assembly of the parts, as can be seen in FIG. 5.
  • the bearing recess 11 and the counter bearing 16 for the spring 14 can be seen in the spring housing 4.
  • the counter bearing is designed in Fig. 4 as a slot in the inner wall of the spring housing.
  • FIG. 5 shows the completed and operational unit with the chain 8 inserted into the eyelet 28 and the key ring 17 attached to it.
  • the cover 3 is provided here with a bearing mandrel 18 which engages in a corresponding axially extending recess 19 at the end 9a of the bobbin 9.
  • the flange 20 between the band 5 and the spring 14 is designed so that it supports the bobbin. This is done in that the flange 20 is adapted to the inside diameter of the housing body 2. In addition, the flange 20 is supported on its side facing away from the band 5 by the reinforced wall 21 of the spring housing 4.
  • the band 5 is so long that it extends around the circumference of a person in the extended state. It is preferably worn over the hips and, because it is constantly under spring tension, holds by itself. After use, the strap automatically rolls up with the help of the tensioned spring 14 after the buckle has been opened.
  • the housing body 2 can also be printed reflectively.
  • the tape itself can also be labeled.
  • the bandwidth is between 5-10 cm, for example.
  • the housing body could also have a square cross section instead of a cylindrical configuration.
