Definitions
- the invention relates to a collapsible table according to the preamble of the first claim.
- US-A-2 685 490 (Snyder) describes an embodiment which is also only foldable and is intended for being carried in a passenger car. This design is also limited to 4 table tops for design reasons.
- the two versions (Noble and Snyder) have the disadvantages that they are not actually collapsible, but are folded together with an alternating direction of rotation. Another disadvantage is that the two versions cannot be used with only 2 or 3 table tops, depending on the need or the available space.
- the object of the invention is therefore to create a collapsible table which does not have the disadvantages of the known designs.
- the table to be created should be able to be contracted and collapsed in such a way that it can be pushed directly onto a chassis or a transport vehicle and is pullable away from it.
- the table shown in FIG. 1 is composed of table top elements 1 and table leg elements 2.
- the individual elements 1, 2 are articulated to one another by hinges, which cannot be seen in FIG. 1.
- the order of the elements 1, 2 is as follows: The table begins at one end with a table leg element 2 to which two table top elements 1 connect. Then another table leg element 2 follows, to which two table top elements 1 are connected, etc. The opposite end of the table ends again with a table leg element 2.
- the table leg element 2 is a frame composed of rods or tubes, for example square tubes, which has two table legs 4, an upper cross member 5 and a lower cross member 6 arranged at a distance above the floor.
- the upper cross member 5 forms part of the table surface with its upper side.
- the table top elements 1 have a table top 7, the hinges 3 being attached to two opposite edges. On the other edges 8 of the table top 7 forming the longitudinal side of the table, a holder is arranged with which the two adjacent table tops 7 are held in their extended position and are shown on a larger scale in FIG. 2.
- Fig. 2 shows a side view of the joint of two table top elements 1 with the hinge band 3 in between.
- a profile rail 9 is fastened with a C-profile on the surfaces of the edges 8.
- a holding bar 10 is mounted, which can be moved by means of a handle 11.
- the holding bar 10 which can be a metal rod, for example, extends over both table top elements 1, as a result of which these elements can no longer be folded.
- the correct position of the holding bolt 10 is determined by a stop 12.
- FIG. 1 forms a coherent whole, since the table top elements 1 and the table leg elements 2 are connected to one another by the hinge straps 3. This has the advantage that the assembly and disassembly and the magazine can be carried out in a simplified manner, as will be described with reference to FIG. 3.
- Fig. 3 it is shown how the table of Fig. 1 is assembled. In a chassis 13 the table is stored folded and is moved to the place where the table is to be set up with the chassis equipped with rollers 14. From Fig. 3 it can be seen that some table top elements 1 and table leg elements 2 are already in front of us two table top elements their transfer to the stretched position.
- the structure of the table is as follows: The table top and table leg elements 1, 2 set up on the chassis 13 in a vertical position are continuously withdrawn via a ramp 16 arranged on the floor 15 of the chassis 13. As can be seen from FIG. 3, only the table legs 4 stand on the floor 15. Appropriate surface treatment can make it easier to move the individual elements. It may be necessary to help out by hand at the start of setting up the table. So that only one table leg element 2 and two table top elements 1 slide over the ramp 16 at the same time, a displaceable stop 17 is arranged on one of the side walls 18. When the chassis 13 is pulled back, the table legs 4 slide over the ramp 16 and retighten the two subsequent table top elements 1.
- a link 19 is attached to the chassis, on which pins 20 arranged on the side edges slide.
- the setting 19 can either be arranged only on one or on both sides of the elements 1, 2, while the pin 20 can only be arranged on one of the two table top elements 1 belonging together.
- a table leg element 2 and the two subsequent table top elements 1 are pulled off in succession until the entire table is set up. If the entire table does not have to be set up, the chassis can remain set up with the remaining elements 1, 2 at one end of the table after setting up the desired table surface.
- the backdrop 19 and possibly also the ramp 16 can be designed to be foldable back.
- the chassis 13 When dismantling the table, the chassis 13 is moved in the opposite direction, i.e. bump against the table, the individual table leg elements 2 with the associated table top elements 1 pushing over the ramp 16 onto the floor 15. In this case, it is first necessary to push back the holding bar 10.
- the setting 19 can also be folded back here, so that the dead weight of the table top elements 1 moved from the horizontal to the vertical position supports the pushing on of the table legs 4 of the respective table leg element 2.
- the end position of the elements 1, 2 is limited by the rear wall 21.
- the unloading and loading of the elements 1, 2 from and onto the chassis 13 can be facilitated by additional means, e.g. in that the floor 15 is designed as a conveying plane which moves in accordance with the movement of the chassis and supports the pushing off during the assembly of the table and the pushing on of the elements 1, 2 when the table is being dismantled.
- the fully loaded chassis 13 requires hardly more space than the area required by the folded elements 1, 2.
- the table tops 7 have the same width as the upper cross member 5.
- the table could also be formed with correspondingly larger table tops and correspondingly larger upper cross members 5 without the assembly and disassembly having to be changed as a result.
- the holder according to FIG. 2 can be replaced by a further table leg element 2 ', which, see FIG. 4, is articulated at the abutment of the two table tops 7 on the underside of one of them Hinge 3 is pivotally attached.
- a further table leg element 2 ' which, see FIG. 4, is articulated at the abutment of the two table tops 7 on the underside of one of them Hinge 3 is pivotally attached.
- the structure of the table or its table units is the same as in Fig. 1:
- Such a unit is composed of two articulated table top elements 1 and two table leg elements 2, the latter articulated by means of the free end edges of the two table top elements 7 Hinges 3 are articulated.
- 4 is the same as in FIG. 1, whereby the table unit 2 does not have to be designed as a frame, but can for example only have a single table leg 4.
- the width of the cross member 5 ' is greater than the width of the table leg 4 and also the table leg 4 is fixed flush on one side with the cross member 5'.
- the final position of the table unit A in the chassis 13 can be seen from phase b). There you can also see how the adjoining table unit B is folded up.
- the table leg element 2 is pushed over a ramp 22 of the side wall 23 and thereby raised, whereby the table leg unit 2 'is also raised.
- the two scenes 24 arranged at a short distance from the side walls 23 serve as guides for pins 25 which are fastened on both sides of one of the two table tops 7 of a table unit and with which this table top is guided on the scenes 24. Since the chassis 13 is moved in the direction of the arrow 21 during the three phases a), b) and c), the two table top elements 1 lower due to their weight and are guided through the pins 25 on the two links 24. When the table top elements 1 assume their vertical position, the pin 25 moves away from the backdrop 24, see a).
- a guide arm 26 is attached, which raises the table leg element 2 'arranged instead of the holder according to FIG. 2, see b) and c). This ensures that when the table top elements 1 are lowered further, the table leg element 2 'can get into the space below the cross member 5'.
- the table unit B assumes the position of the table unit A shown in a). In this way the folding of one table unit after the other is repeated.
- the backdrop 24 is particularly necessary when assembling the table, since it supports the transition of the table top elements 1 from the vertical to the horizontal position.
- the procedure is the same as for disassembly, only in the opposite direction, ie from c) to a), the direction of travel of the chassis (13) being reversed to the direction of the arrow 21 is.
- the lifting of the table unit with the help of the cross member 5 ' serves to raise the table leg element 2' arranged instead of the holder so that it can be pivoted.
- the hinge for this table leg element 2 ' is arranged on that table top element 1 which is connected to the projecting part of the cross member 5'.
- the pin 25 projects less far than the cross member 5 ', so that on the one hand the table leg element 2 is guided on the side wall 23, while the pin 25 is guided on the slightly more inward link 24.
- the individual parts of the table described can be made of different materials, e.g. the table tops 7 from a coated or veneered chipboard and the table legs 4 and the cross members 5, 5 ', 6 from square tubes made of light metal, steel, plastic or wood.
- the joints 3 are conveniently commercially available hinges of any length made of metal, while the C-profile rails 9 made of metal, e.g. Light metal, exist.
- a variant of the table described in FIGS. 3 and 4 is that the support of the table leg elements 2 is reversed when the table is folded - in FIG. 3 on the bottom 15 of the chassis 13 and in FIG. 4 on the two side walls 23 of the chassis 13 3, so that the table leg elements 2 in the embodiment according to FIG. 3 are supported on the side walls and those in the embodiment according to FIG. 4 on the bottom of the chassis.
- the pins 20 arranged on the side edges of the table top elements 1 (Fig. 3) and 25 (Fig. 4) or other, corresponding guide means can be arranged at a different location and thereby - with support of the table leg elements 2 on the bottom of the chassis - there are no longer any protruding parts on the side edges of the table top elements 1.
- the pins 20, 25 are nothing more than guide means, the task of which is to cooperate with the corresponding link 19, 24, thereby facilitating the folding and the pulling apart of the table top elements.
- This can also be solved, for example, by arranging a sliding surface on the underside of the table top elements 1, to which the pins 20, 25 are attached, which cooperates with the link 19, 24.
- a roller can be arranged on the underside of the tabletop in the area of the interconnected tabletop elements 1, a recess having to be provided on the other table leg elements 2 'which receives the rollers when the table is mounted.
