Definitions

  • the invention relates to a pocket chair with a seat consisting of two pivotable about a common axis against each other, designed as underside open box sections and with legs built up from legs that are pivotally mounted on the box profiles and can be accommodated in these box profiles in the folded state.
  • Such a pocket chair is known for example from GB-PS 744 192.
  • the pocket chair described there consists of two open box sections that can be folded against each other and telescopic legs that can be pushed into one another, which can be folded into the interior of these box sections.
  • Such a pocket chair can be folded relatively small.
  • the seat area consisting of the opened box profiles is very small.
  • the box profiles are made larger to enlarge the seating area, the dimensions of the folded pocket chair will also increase.
  • the object of the invention is to design a pocket chair of the type mentioned so that a sufficiently large and comfortable seat is created and the dimensions of the folded pocket chair are at the same time very small, so that the pocket chair can be carried comfortably.
  • the pocket chair according to the invention after the box profiles have been opened, they can be pulled further apart due to their movable side parts, so that compared to GB-PS 744 192 with, for example, the same dimensions of the box profiles, i.e. the same dimensions of the folded pocket chair gives a larger seat.
  • box profiles are each provided with pull-out inserts attached to them, these inserts being connected to the movable side parts facing the pivot axis. It is advantageous if these inserts are also designed as open box profiles. It thus results in a sufficient and satisfactory enlargement of the seat surface with only a small amount of construction and mechanical effort.
  • Another advantageous embodiment provides that the side parts relative to the box profiles can be pulled out by hinges.
  • the seating area can thus be enlarged even further compared to the first embodiment. It is favorable, for example, to link two levers each to the side parts and two other levers to the box sections and to rotatably connect the levers placed on the side parts to the levers opposite them and fastened to the box sections.
  • These levers act like scissors and thus allow the seat of the opened pocket chair to be enlarged with the simplest of means.
  • the scissors forming part of the seat can expediently e.g. are covered by a sheet of cloth not described here, which can also be part of the pocket chair and attached to it.
  • each supporting leg In order to achieve a good use of space in the box profiles and thus small external dimensions of the folded pocket chair, it can furthermore be expedient to give the sections of each supporting leg a U-shaped profile, the U-shaped sections of each supporting leg being pivoted to one another and in the folded state lie in one another.
  • These sections of the legs can be pivotally mounted to one another in a manner known per se, it being particularly advantageous if the open sides of these U-shaped sections in the folded state point in the direction facing away from the bottoms of the box sections.
  • a particularly good use of space with a fill factor of almost 100% is achieved if the respective legs of the U-shaped sections of the folded up legs have a height that is greater than the depth of the box sections and if, when folded up, the legs of the one box section hinged folded legs protrude at least partially into the U-profile of the folded legs hinged to the opposite box section or vice versa.
  • the collapsed legs arranged in each of the box profiles thus also each have a U-shaped profile, the U-profiles of one box half engaging in the U-profiles of the other box half.
  • a pocket chair is designated 1 as a whole in FIG. 1 and consists of two partial seating surfaces which are designed in the manner of box profiles 2 and 3.
  • the box-like profile is achieved by side parts 4 to 4 "'or 5 to 5"', which have a very low height.
  • the two partial seating surfaces are connected to one another via hinge joints 6, 6 'and 6 ". When the legs are folded in, they can be swiveled around these hinges, which gives the folded pocket chair the shape of a flat box that is closed on all sides.
  • Can be used to connect the two box halves when closed a device, not shown here, for example a hook, can be provided in a known manner.
  • each of the two box sections 2 and 3 two pillars 7, 7 'and 8, 8' are pivotally arranged.
  • the legs consist of two U-shaped profiles, which can be pivotally connected to one another, for example, via a hinge, not shown here.
  • An example of the partial view of an extended standing leg can be seen again from FIG. 10, where it is shown using the example of the standing leg 7 that this can consist of two U-shaped sections 10 and 10 ', the section 10' in the direction of Arrow A can be folded into section 10.
  • the sections 10 and 10 ' can be fixed against one another in the unfolded state in a known manner, for example with a slide.
  • Fig. 1 it can also be seen that the side parts 4 "and 5" facing the pivot axis of the two box sections 2 and 3 are movable and extendable relative to these.
  • box-shaped inserts 17 and 18 are provided, on which the side parts 4 "and 5" are attached.
  • the inserts and the side parts connected to them can now be pulled out opposite the box profiles.
  • bolts 19 and 20 fastened to the box profiles 2 and 3 can be provided, which run in corresponding guides 21 and 22 of the box profiles. In the unfolded state, this results in an enlarged seating area in relation to the base area of the box profiles, it also being possible, of course, to provide corresponding means (not shown here) for fixing the inserts in the unfolded state.
  • the inserts 17 and 18 are completely sunk into the box profiles assigned to them, which results in a very good use of space in the folded pocket chair.
  • the areas in the box profiles 2 and 3 assigned to the inserts 17 and 18 can, of course, still be partitioned off by partitions 11 and 12 compared to the areas provided for the supporting legs 7, 7 'and 8, 8'.
  • levers 13 and 13 'or 14 and 14' are now articulated on the box profiles, which are rotatably connected to other levers 15 and 15 'or 16 and 16', which in turn are connected to the movable side parts 4 " and 5 "are articulated.
  • the pairs of levers 13/15, 13 '/ 15 " 14/16 and 14' / 16 'thus form a kind of scissors with which the seat surface of the pocket chair can be enlarged.
  • the seat surface can be enlarged almost as desired.
  • the part of the seat surface formed by the levers can also be covered in a manner not shown here, for example with a cloth or the like, in order to achieve a more comfortable sitting position, this cloth also being part of the pocket chair and attached to it.
  • the scissors formed by the levers can be pushed together, the levers as well as the chair legs being accommodated in the box profiles 2 and 3. This also results in a very space-saving design of the pocket chair in the folded state, but a comfortable and sufficiently large seat is available in the unfolded state.
  • a favorable guide for the levers forming the scissors is obtained if one of the two levers forming a pair of levers has a U-shaped profile into which one leg of the other lever with a T-shaped profile is inserted in the folded state.
  • the levers 13, 13 ', 14 and 14' have a U-shaped profile (FIG. 3), while the levers 15, 15 ', 16 and 16' have a T-shaped profile (FIG. 4). It is of course equally possible to interchange the assignment of the U-shaped and T-shaped profiled levers. Such profiling results in sufficient stability for the scissors arrangement in the opened state.
  • FIGS. 5 to 9. 5 the unfolded pocket chair is shown from below, but the scissors are not pulled out and the legs are not unfolded.
  • the levers forming the scissors are not identified in FIG. 5 and are shown again in FIG. 6 in the expanded state with the addition of the reference numerals.
  • the main difference compared to the second embodiment (Fig. 2 to 4) of the invention in the embodiment of Figs. 5 to 9 is that the legs are constructed from three sections with a U-shaped profile and that the legs of these U-profiles are higher are as the depth of the associated box profiles.
  • 7 shows the structure of three sections 10 to 10 "using the example of the supporting leg 7. The folding of this supporting leg is indicated by the arrows B, C and D. The individual stages of the collapsing of the supporting leg are also shown again in FIG 8 shown.
  • FIG. 9 A section through the folded pocket chair is now shown in FIG. 9.
  • the U-shaped sections of each chair leg are folded into one another since the openings of the respective U profiles point in the same direction. Since the height of the legs of these U-profiles is greater than the depth of the corresponding box profiles 2 and 3, the legs of the upright legs engage in the U-profiles on the opposite side and vice versa.
  • the space available for the chair legs is optimally utilized. In cross section, the fill factor is almost 100%.
  • the pocket chair can still be folded very small if the chair legs are large enough and the seat is large enough.
  • the sections 10, 10 'and 10 "of the legs are each pivotally connected to each other so that in the unfolded state, the center piece 10' with the open side of the U-profile is opposite to the open sides of the sections 10 and 10". After folding in this arrangement, all open sides of the U-profiles point in one direction.
  • the profiles are matched to one another in such a way that the section 10 ′′ is received within the section 10 ′ and this within the section 10.
  • the legs articulated on one box section are laterally offset from the legs articulated on the other box section.
  • the legs 7 and 7 'articulated on the box profile 2 offset to the right compared to the legs 8 and 8' articulated on the box profile 3.
  • the cross sections of the two pillars attached to a box section are also different. 9, the support leg 7 'is wider than the support leg 7 with respect to the crosspiece of the respective U-profiles. The same naturally also applies to the corresponding sections of these pillars; i.e. the section 23 of the support leg 7 'is wider than the section 10 of the support leg 7, the section 23' wider than the section 10 'and the section 23 "wider than the section 10".
