Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel supply device for mixture-compressing internal combustion engines, with a partial air duct branching upstream of the throttle valve from the intake duct and a pump that measures the quantity of partial air and, depending on operating parameters, a fuel quantity supplying pump, with outgoing distributor ducts leading to the assigned intake manifold in front of the inlet valves to lead.
- Such a device is known from DE-OS 29 00 459. With such a device, it is possible to use a single fuel metering system that provides an amount of fuel that is adapted to the respective operating state, in idle mode as in all other load states of the engine.
- the mouth of the injection nozzle opens into the partial air duct upstream of the pump. The purpose of this is that the metering of the fuel at idle and at low partial loads is achieved essentially by varying the opening times of the injection valve, whereas in the case of higher partial loads up to full load when the injection valves are fully open, the fuel is metered essentially due to the change in pressure in the partial air duct .
- This device has the disadvantage that the fuel can be partially retained as a wall film due to pulsations in the partial air duct. This has a slimming effect on engine operation in the transient area and there is a delayed load acceptance, while there is an enriching effect during the deceleration phase of the motor. With the enrichment, the exhaust gas quality is also adversely affected. There is also the risk that the fuel film gets into the intake duct through the air pulsations in the partial air duct, which has comparable consequences.
- the object of the invention in a fuel supply device of the type mentioned at the outset is to avoid the negative effects of the pulsations.
- the combustion air drawn in by the engine flows in the direction of the arrow through the intake duct 1 past a throttle valve 2 and through the intake manifold 3.
- an air mass meter 4 which can be designed, for example, as a known hot-wire air mass meter.
- the signal from the air mass meter 4 leads to control electronics 5 which are acted upon by further operating parameters x Y , z, which can also represent external influencing variables.
- a partial air duct 6 branches off from the intake duct 1 and leads to the inlet side of a pump 7 designed as a vane cell plant.
- the air inlet 8 into the pump 7 is as possible arranged tangentially.
- a fuel inlet channel 9, into which the fuel is added by a magnetically actuated injection valve 10, is located downstream of the inlet 8, likewise arranged tangentially, within the pump 7.
- the opening time of this electromagnetically actuated injection valve 10 is controlled by the control electronics 5 as a function of operating parameters such as, for example, the exhaust gas composition or also from external influencing variables such as fuel type, air temperature, air pressure.
- the injection valve 10 is also supplied to the fuel tank 11 via a fuel pump 12 and line 13 with fuel at a low operating point of, for example, 0.5 bar.
- a tank return line 14 leads the excess fuel back to the tank via a pressure valve 15.
- the pressure valve 15 has the task of maintaining a predetermined system pressure within the cable line 13, 14 so that the amount of fuel dispensed at the injection valve 10 via the orifice 16 can be precisely determined. Furthermore, the pressure valve 15 can be pressurized with the pressure prevailing in the fuel inlet channel 9 via a line 21, whereby the system pressure always generates a constant differential pressure over the metering cross section of the injection valve 10.
- the separate inlet 8 of the partial air duct 6 and the fuel inlet duct 9 into the pump 7 prevent pulsations in the partial air duct 6 from having an effect on the metering of the fuel. Furthermore, the separation ensures that no wall film is deposited within the partial air duct. This is also supported by the fact that the position of the inlet channel 9 is arranged tangentially to the conveying direction of the vane cell plant, so that the fuel is sprayed off in the conveying direction.
- the pump 7 On the outlet side, the pump 7 has a channel 17, which leads to a distributor 18 in which the emulsion formed from fuel and air is divided into channels 19 according to the number of cylinders, each of which is connected to a line 20, which is in front open the inlet valves of the internal combustion engine, not shown, into the intake manifold 3 in the area of the inlet connection piece.

Abstract
