Description

The invention relates to a triggering device for an automatic or controlled cut-off switch device comprising:
  • - On the one hand, a first abrupt trigger mechanism which maintains in a first stable closed position, a transmission member subjected to an elastic return force which urges it towards a second stable trigger position and respectively towards a third stable position d 'successive opening, and which closes a device control switch only for said closed position, and
  • - on the other hand, a second abrupt trigger mechanism which is suitable on the one hand for triggering the first mechanism to release the transmission member and to cooperate with the latter to provide it with these second and third positions and which is suitable on the other hand to transmit reset actions to resettable devices, reacting abruptly when current overloads of different kinds appear in a power circuit of the device.

Such a mechanism is in particular applicable to a contactor device comprising a local control member and having automatic opening means which respond to the appearance in the circuit of the load of instantaneous current overloads, such as those due to frank short circuits. or impedant, or prolonged such as those due to overloads.

An apparatus having the general constitution defined above is known from European patent application EP-A-0 079 818. This document belongs to the state of the art, as defined in article 54 (3 ) of the EPC. In this known device, which uses moving parts in translation, a single and same member of the second mechanism with abrupt release is used to unlock the first mechanism, to cooperate with the transmission member, and to reset the device. resettable after the appearance of a fault.

Furthermore, US-A-2 479 331 describes a switch comprising a pivoting locking lever, an attachment member for the deflected lever in self-releasable contact with the lever, a trigger member provided with a lock holding the member hooking in contact with the lever to maintain the movable contact in the closed state and an off-center spring mechanism for deflecting the movable contact in the open position and having an actuating element, movable in one direction to engage the lever and the latching and, in the opposite direction, to engage the lever and the latching member and bring the movable contact to the closed position.

The invention proposes first of all to provide an apparatus performing the same functions as that of the prior art in which the triggering functions and the resetting functions will be performed using separate parts allowing effective decoupling between the operations of mechanical resetting specific to the second mechanism and to the resetting of the resettable device or devices, and between the operations which condition the resetting and the triggering of the first trigger mechanism; in a particular embodiment, the invention then aims to provide a device where the friction will be reduced so as to improve the sensitivity and speed of the internal operation while reducing the sensitivity to disturbances of external origin; finally within the framework of a particular association of the apparatus, with a remote reset device, the invention is interested in the measures likely to make carry out by a motor turning in one direction, operations which are carried out in two sense during manual reset.

According to the invention the aim is achieved thanks to the fact that the second abrupt triggering mechanism comprises:
  • - a trigger lever, causing the release of the first abrupt trigger mechanism, which is held elastically armed by cooperation with a pawl subjected to the action of two drawers associated respectively with the detector devices, and which cooperates with a first surface of the transmission member for stopping the latter in the triggered position "D" when the cooperation of the pawl with the trigger lever is interrupted by the action of at least one drawer,
  • - a reset lever which is brought by the trigger lever and in a determined direction in the vicinity of a second surface of the transmission member, when the latter reaches this position and which cooperates elastically with this second surface to stop this member transmission in the open position, this second surface of this transmission member being capable of communicating to this disarming lever in the unstable resetting position a movement in the opposite direction which is transmitted on the one hand to the trigger lever to restore its cooperation with the ratchet, and on the other hand with the drawers towards the resettable detector devices.

This moving part has a first edge 5 placed parallel to L, a first bearing surface or inclined ramp 6 placed at a first level 7, a second edge or abutment surface 6 which is parallel to L, and a second inclined ramp or second bearing surface 9 placed at a level 40.

This moving part which can take one of four positions F, D, 0, R has been shown in solid lines in position F and only the bearing surfaces 6 and 9 have been shown in dotted lines in other positions D and 0 respectively D, 0 and R.

Par ailleurs une extrémité du levier de verrouillage 10 voisine du verrou porte un prolongement ou bec 19.A locking lever 10 oscillating around a first fixed pivot 11 secured to the housing is maintained in a rest position, where it rests on a stop 12, under the action of a torque CI of direction P provided by a spring 13. This lever carries a movable pivot 14 around which oscillates an eclipsable lock 15 whose rest position is determined by its support, on a stop 16 of the lever, which is provided to it by the spring 17. This lock has an end 18 which cooperates with the surface 6 to maintain the moving part 3 in the position F where the spring 4 is armed. Furthermore, one end of the locking lever 10 adjacent to the lock carries an extension or spout 19.

A tilting trigger lever 20 oscillating around a fixed pivot 21 comprises a hammer 22 placed opposite the extension 19, a stud 23, a stud 24 and a stud 25.

A tooth 26 is disposed at one end of the part 20 which is also stressed by a torque C4 supplied by a spring 27 and tending to move it in the direction M.

This trigger lever 20 finds an armed rest position for which the spring 27 is tensioned when the tooth 26 is supported on a spout 28 belonging to a trigger pawl 29 which can oscillate around a fixed pivot 30 of the housing and which carries two arms 31 and 32; this trigger pawl has a rest position which is communicated to it by a spring 34 and which is defined by a stop 33 of the housing.

A reset lever 35 oscillating freely around a pivot 21 ′ (which may be of the same axis as that of the pivot 21 or a pivot with a neighboring parallel axis) has a first arm 36, a second arm 37 and a third arm 38 an end surface 39 of which is placed at level 40, shown in dotted lines, where the bearing surface 9 moves.

Une extrémité 41 du bras 36 se trouve placée avec un certain jeu en regard d'un rebord 42 appartenant à un premier coulisseau 43, qui se déplace dans le boîtier par exemple de façon rectiligne, selon le sens E ou G et qui porte un doigt 44 placé en regard du bras 31 du cliquet 29.One end 41 of the arm 36 is placed with a certain clearance opposite a flange 42 belonging to a first slide 43, which moves in the housing for example in a straight line, in the direction E or G and which carries a finger 44 placed opposite the arm 31 of the pawl 29.

Une extrémité 45 du bras 37 se trouve placée également avec jeu au voisinage d'une surface d'extrémité 46 appartenant à un second coulisseau 47 qui se déplace dans le boîtier par exemple de façon rectiligne selon le sens H ou J et qui porte un doigt 48 placé en regard du bras 32 du cliquet 29.One end 45 of the arm 37 is also placed with clearance in the vicinity of an end surface 46 belonging to a second slide 47 which moves in the housing for example in a rectilinear fashion in the H or J direction and which carries a finger 48 placed opposite the arm 32 of the pawl 29.

Enfin, une surface 49 du levier de réarmement 35 éloignée du pivot 21' se trouve placée en regard du téton 25 de façon telle qu'une coopération angulaire puisse s'établir entre les leviers de réarmement et de déclenchement dans l'un des sens M ou N.Finally, a surface 49 of the reset lever 35 remote from the pivot 21 'is placed facing the stud 25 so that an angular cooperation can be established between the reset and trigger levers in one of the directions M or N.

The parts and members 13, 10, 15 3, 4 belong to a first mechanism with sudden release, and the parts 20, 27, 29, 34, 35 belong to a second mechanism with sudden release.

As the device which has just been described aims to operate the putting into service or stopping of a contactor device with opening either automatic in the event of a fault or voluntary by manual external route thanks to a local control member, a control switch 50 is placed in series with a coil 51 of a contactor electromagnet placed in the housing and shown diagrammatically at 54, and comprises for example a fixed contact 52 carried by the housing and a movable contact 53, which associated with it; in the example shown the movable contact is carried by the locking lever 10 and the switch 50 is closed when, the moving part 3 being in position F, this locking lever is in the rest position against the stop 12; the slides 43 or 47 will be moved abruptly in direction E or H, by resettable overload detector devices or bodies placed in the housing and represented schematically by 55, 55 ', 56, 56' and 57, 57 'to respond at the appearance of overcurrents te different levels in load circuits 58 of the contactor 54; the marks 55 ', 56', 57 'can respectively represent strikers and magnetic vanes and bimetallic strips.

The operation of the device which has just been described is as follows.

When the trigger 29 is moved in the S direction, due to sudden movements made in the E direction, or in the H direction, by one of the slides 43 or 47, the tooth 26 of the trigger lever 20 is released and it pivots in the sense M; during this sudden movement resulting from the relaxation of the spring 27, the stud 24 comes to bear on a stop surface for example on the stop surface 8, to give the part 20 a working position where the stud 23 located at level 7 and facing the bearing surface 6; this same movement due to the torque C 4 brings the percussion of the spout 19 by the hammer 22 and consequently the sudden tilting of direction Q, of the locking lever 10, the latter in turn causing a break in the mechanical contact between the surface of support 6 and the end 18 of the latch 15.

The moving part 3 which is thus released in its turn then moves in the direction L until the bearing surface 6 comes into contact with the stud 23. The moving part 3 then occupies a stable position D called the trigger where the switch 50 is open; this opening is due to the fact that the end 18 of the latch 15.5 ′ is applied against the edge 5 when the rocking lever 10 has suddenly taken up a working position which separates it from the stop 12.

In this position, the stud 25 is applied against the surface 49 of the cocking lever 35 and has moved the latter so that the end surface 39 is placed in the vicinity of the bearing surface 9 of the transmission unit 3.

An operation exerted on the part 3 in the direction K in order to put the apparatus into service, that is to say in position F cannot be followed by effect, since the trigger lever 20, having escaped the pawl 29 , occupies a position which prevents the locking lever 10 from resuming its rest position, closing the switch 50, and placing the end 18 of the lock 15 against the bearing surface 6.

On the other hand, the device can be put voluntarily in the permanent open position "0" thanks to an external action exerted on the member 2 in the "L" direction, which first causes a slight tilting of the trigger lever 20 in the direction "N" thanks to the action of the bearing surface 6 against the stud 23; this tilting, which allows the stud 23 to escape the abutment surface 6, and to come to bear on the surface 5 causes the bearing surface 9 to cooperate with the surface 39 of the arm 38 of the reset lever 35 for provide a stable, open "O" position which results from the balance of opposing forces exerted by the springs 27 and 4 and transmitted by the parts 27, 20, 25, 49, 35, 38, 39 on the one hand and by the parts 4,3,9 on the other hand.

Ce réarmement, qui fournira des mouvements de sens "G" respectivement "J", aux coulisseaux 43, 47, et sera transmis par des moyens schématisés en 59,60,61, résultera de la cooperation entre la surface d'appui 9 (ou une arête 62 séparant cette surface de la surface d'appui 8) contre l'extrémité 39, du levier d'armement 35.Resetting the device's triggering devices after an automatic triggering must have the effect of, on the one hand, returning the transmission member to position F and, on the other hand, resetting the devices 55, 56, 57, 43 and 47 in a state corresponding to the absence of fault. This rearming, which will provide movements of direction "G" respectively "J", to the slides 43, 47, and will be transmitted by means shown diagrammatically in 59, 60, 61, will result from the cooperation between the bearing surface 9 (or an edge 62 separating this surface from the bearing surface 8) against the end 39 of the cocking lever 35.

This rearming is carried out during a movement of the transmission member 3 commanded by an external action on member 2 and in the "L" direction, from the "D" or "0" position to the position "R"; the surface 9 then pushes the lever arm 38, and on the one hand causes the part 35 to pivot in the "N" direction and that of the lever 20 until the ratchet beak 29 can slide behind the tooth 26, and on the other hand a direction drive G and J of the slides 43,47 by the ends 41 respectively 45 of the arms 36 respectively 37. The position "R" thus obtained is not stable due to the elastic action antagonist transmitted from the spring 27 to the transmission member 3 by the levers 20 and 35, so that when the external action ceases, this member 3 tends to return to position "0".

L'appareil est ici représenté en position de fermeture "F".In an embodiment represented in FIG. 2, where the parts having the same functions as in the previous example bear the same references, the two preceding pivots 21, 21 ′ have axes coinciding at 21, and the bearing surfaces 6 'and 9' are portions of neighboring surfaces belonging to the same surface. The device is shown here in the closed position "F".

A trigger lever 20 ', the surface 24' of which here cooperates with a stop 8 'of the housing 1 to facilitate reading of the drawing, could also find a working position by pressing against a stop surface 8 "similar to the surface of stop S in FIG. 1.

In the working position of the trigger lever 20 ', the flange 23' of this lever is encountered either by the bearing surface 6 'or by an edge 62' which separates it from the surface 5, to give the member transmission 3, and therefore to the local control member 2 which is connected to it, a stable position triggered "D", see FIG. 3a.

The pivoting locking lever 10 (see Figure 2) carries a contact lever 63 which is applied against a stop 64 of this lever by a spring 65 to have a rest position. This contact lever has an end 66 which can lift a movable contact 53 'to separate it from a fixed contact 52' belonging to a control switch 50 'having the same function as the previous switch 50.

The opening of this switch results here either from the tilting of the lever 10 in the Q direction after release by the trigger lever, or even when, the lever 10 being tilted or not, the end 66 is pushed back in the "K" direction thanks to a T action defined later.

Le caractère brusque de l'ouverture de l'interrupteur 50' résulte soit du basculement instantané qui est communiqué au levier 10 par le levier de déclenchement, soit de la séparation instantanée du verrou 15, 18 et de la surface d'appui 6' lorsque l'organe de transmission 3' est déplacé par l'organe de commande locale 2 vers la position "0".The abrupt nature of the opening of the switch 50 'results either from the instantaneous tilting which is communicated to the lever 10 by the tripping lever, either of the instantaneous separation of the bolt 15, 18 and of the bearing surface 6 'when the transmission member 3' is moved by the local control member 2 to the "0" position.

Dans le premier cas un couple antagoniste 4 de sens M est communiqué au levier 10 par le ressort 27 contre un couple C1 de sens P communique par le ressort 13.In the first case, an opposing torque 4 of direction M is communicated to the lever 10 by the spring 27 against a couple C1 of direction P communicates by the spring 13.

In the second case, an external force communicated to the members 2 and 3 ′ is added to the force of the return spring 4 in order to first tilt the eclipsable lock 15 in the "Q" direction against a torque C2 which is given to it. by spring 17; when a torque C3 greater than the torque C1 is transmitted to the lever 10, it occurs due to the fact that the eclipsable lock has taken an inclined position relative to the surface 6 ', very rapid tilting of the lever 10 in the direction Q , which allows the latch 18 to slide along the edge 62 'and to be placed against the abutment surface 5 to keep the switch 50' open.

As in the case of FIG. 1, the positions D, 0 implement an antagonistic cooperation between the surfaces 6 ′, 23 ′ and respectively 9 ′, 39 ′ to give two stable positions to the transmission member and to the local control member, see Figures 3a and 3b where the opposite arrows indicate these cooperations.

The unstable position "R" is here again obtained by a return effort towards the position "0" which is communicated to the transmission member 3 'by the spring 27 whose action is transmitted by the trigger lever 20', an arm 25 'of the latter, the surface 49, the lever 35' and the end 39 ', the latter acting on the surface 9', see FIG. 3c, where the opposite arrows indicate antagonistic actions.

In the two embodiments illustrated, the movements of the transmission member have been assumed to be rectilinear; the devices are able to operate in the same way when these parts 3, 3 'are rotating parts, for example integral with a rotary button 2 movable around an axis YY' perpendicular to tangential displacements K and L.

In an embodiment shown in the triggered position "D" in FIG. 4a, and where the same references indicate the same functions, the rotating part 3 ", which takes up the same functions as the previous part 3 ', is movable around a pivot 68 whose axis is parallel to the axes of the parallel pivots 11, 67, 14, 21 and 30.

The contact lever 63 further comprises a first end 66 'whose function will be specified later, a second insulating end 69 which cooperates with the movable contact 53' as the end 66 did previously.

For constructive reasons, the reset lever 35 ′ shown in dotted lines comprises, instead of the arms 41, 45, pins 41 ′, 45 ′ having, for resetting, the same functions as the arms 41 and 45 and this by cooperation with surfaces 42 and 46 respectively.

Les propriétés et modes de fonctionnement des variantes sont sensiblement identiques à ceux de l'appareil selon la figure 1.The surfaces 6 ′ and 9 ′ visible in FIG. 6 are aligned but offset axially along the rotating transmission part 3 "which also has a cylindrical surface 8" which serves as a stop for the surface 24. A clearance 87 from the part 3 "(see FIG. 4), allows the arm 38 not to come into contact with this part 3" in a place other than 9 '. The trigger lever 20 "has an arm 25 'which cooperates with a stud 49' of the reset lever, the function of which is the same as that of the preceding surface 49. The properties and operating modes of the variants are substantially identical to those of the device according to figure 1.

Triggering mechanisms such as those shown in Figures 2 to 6 are particularly suitable for remote control by receiving external control actions; these are provided for example by an electric actuator, using a small synchronous motor, intended to operate the closing of the device; in order to remotely reset and put into service.

The decoupling operated by these mechanisms between the reset, trip and close functions of the control switch, as well as on the one hand the respective arrangements of the directions of movement of the parts which perform these functions and, on the other hand, the respective arrangements between the positions "F, D, 0 and R" allow a simple remote control of the device comprising this mechanism to be reset remotely after an automatic opening.

It will be observed in fact that in the mechanisms described in FIGS. 2, 3, 4 and 6, the displacement of direction "K" supplied to the transmission member to bring it into position F, the displacement of the arms 36 of the reset levers supplied to operate during a reset, as well as the displacement which must be applied to the end 66 'of the contact lever 63 to keep the switch open, are parallel and in the same direction.

It is therefore possible to associate with these mechanisms, (see FIG. 5, where for clarity of the drawing neither the trigger lever nor the pawl have been shown) an internal remote control slide 70 having three portions 71, 72, 73 suitable for exerting thrusts in the same direction (indicated by arrows S, T, V) for example on a surface portion 74 of the transmission member 3 'which would preferably be placed at a third level 75 in the vicinity of levels 7 and 40, on the end 66 'and on the arm 36.

This slide 70 which is associated with a return spring 77 and with a stop 76 of the housing to fix its rest position W is shown in the position Z which it occupies at the time when the hooking in position has just been carried out. F "of the transmission member 3 ', by the latch 15, 18.

A subassembly 78 removably attached to the housing 1, and comprising two supply terminals 79, 80, between which are connected a small synchronous unidirectional motor 81 for example and a holding switch 82, has a pusher 83 which is actuated by the motor thanks to a reduction gear 85 having a large gear reduction and to a cam 90. This pusher 83 enters the housing 1 to through an opening 88 thereof to cooperate with the thrust surface 87 of the slider 70 after having passed through an opening 89 of the housing 1.

The switch 82 which is only open when the pusher 83 is in the rest position W, and closes as soon as it moves in the direction K, ensures the continuity of the power supply to the motor when a short setting voltage disappears. en route applied directly to the engine using a switch 91 between terminal 79 and a third terminal 84; this voltage being applied when the remote reset is to be carried out.

The pusher 83 which is associated with a spring 86 and which performs once for each order a single forward movement of direction "K" and return of direction "L" extending between successive positions W, B, X, B, W therefore communicates to slide 70 displacements of amplitude WX.

The rest position W of the slide which corresponds to that of pusher 70 is such that, even for a reset position "R" given to the transmission member 3 'by a manual external action exerted on the local control member 2 , the bearing surface 74 cannot come into contact with the portion 71; likewise neither the arm 36 nor the arm 66 'can come against the portions 73 respectively 72 for the position "D" of the transmission member.

The maximum position X reached by the slide and given to the transmission member 3 'is such that the bearing surface 6' is placed slightly to the left of the latch 18 to allow it to be put in place under the effect of the spring 13 .

In all the positions of the slide 70 located to the left of a position B, the portion 72 meets the end 66 'of the contact lever and keeps the switch 50' open; if the reset attempt, communicated during the race going from W to X to the trigger lever 35 ', is effectively followed by a hooking of the trigger lever by the pawl 29 during the return race going from W to B passing through Z, the lever 10 can take the position shown in FIG. 5 and the switch 50 ′ can only close when the slide returns to the right of position B. However, the catching of the trigger lever 20 ′ by the pawl 29 can indeed only be achieved if no displacement of direction H is given to the slide 47 by the abrupt release mechanism 57 (itself responding to a bimetallic strip 57 'heated or still hot), this lever 20 "would again rock lever 10 before point B is reached, if this slide 47 could not resume a position directed towards J.

The results obtained during the remote-controlled operation of the device which has just been described are therefore comparable to those obtained by a manual reset and closing action exerted on the local control member.

In an embodiment according to FIG. 4 b using a 3 "transmission member such as that of FIG. 6, a surface 74 ′ which has the same function as the surface 74 of FIG. 5, can be aligned with the surfaces 6 'and 9' while being axially offset so as not to interfere with surfaces 24 and 39, see Figure 6.

The implementation of a slide such as 70 in the embodiment according to Figure 4a can be advantageously carried out due to the fact that the parts or surfaces 66 ', 74' and 41 'which are all located below the axis 68 ′ move in the same direction K at the time when the rearming is carried out (see FIG. 4b where the members represented are in a state comparable to that of FIG. 5).

During the various rearming processes, the engagement of the pawl behind the tooth should only be possible if the circumstances or faults which caused a triggering in position D have disappeared. As the contactor has been opened, and as a result, no current is flowing in the charging circuit, the only circumstance which may prevent the engagement of the pawl is that which results from the deflection of a bimetallic strip 57 'still heated to the following prolonged overload; in this situation the action which is caused by an overload detector 57 and which is continuously transmitted during the cooling time of the bimetallic strip by the channel 61, prevents the slide 47 from retaining a position directed towards J and therefore prevents the latch from take its rest position; as a result, the trigger lever 20 respectively 20 ', 20 ", cannot take its armed position when the transmission member leaves the position R to move towards the successive positions 0 and F. Because of this impossibility, the lever locking device 10 cannot therefore take its rest position, so that the switch 50 remains open, even if the part 3 is brought into position F; consequently, reclosing of the charging circuit 58 cannot be effected as long that a bimetallic strip is still hot.

If the fault which caused the opening of the contactor, and therefore the setting in position D of the transmission member, results instantaneously from a frank short-circuit or an impedant short-circuit (which do not give at the bimetal of time to heat up), a rearming movement going from D to R, allows to carry out the armed position of the trigger lever 20 or 20 'or 20 "because no permanent action from the detectors is magnetic 55 either thermal 56 is transmitted via channels 59 or respectively 60 to the corresponding drawer 43 or 47.

An attempt to commission the device, carried out by a displacement of the transmission, going from R to F consequently causes the tilting of the locking lever 10 when this member reaches the position F, because the hammer 22 of the lever 20 has taken up a position away from the spout 19. If the short circuit is always present, the closing of the control switch 50 or 50 'which therefore allows excitation of the contactor 54, will cause an excitation of at least one of the detector members 55 or 56 and consequently the successive actuations of the levers 20, 20' , 20 "and 10, as well as the reopening of the switch 50 or 50 'so that the charging circuit will open again by de-energizing the electromagnet 51.

This operation is established even if the transmission member 3 or 3 'is maintained in position F by manual or non-manual external action.
