Definitions

  • the invention relates to a dispenser for pasty products with a dispensing channel with a dispensing mouth and a headpiece connected to the latter via a connecting path that can be closed by means of a second check valve that can only be opened in the direction of the dispensing mouth and that has a volume-changing pumping chamber and an attached to the headpiece Connected container, the end facing away from the head piece has an opening and inside a piston is provided sealingly sliding on the inner wall of the container, the inside of the container via a first check valve that can only be opened in the direction of the pumping chamber, which runs in a between the pumping chamber and the inside of the container Support floor is arranged, is in communication with the pump chamber (EP-A-13 691).
  • dispensers of the type explained above it is possible to dispense pasty materials by changing the volume of the pump chamber by means of external force application, for example by finger pressure on an actuation button connected to a pump piston, in quantities dependent on the change in volume of the pump chamber.
  • the atmospheric pressure is used, which acts on the underside of the piston closing the inside of the container and which, after generating a negative pressure in the pumping chamber, produces an amount of the pasty mass corresponding to the volume change in the pumping chamber the pumping chamber presses. From there, this amount is then pressed out of the dispenser through the dispensing channel during the next volume reduction in the pumping chamber using the function of the check valves provided.
  • the use of special propellants to drive the pasty mass out of the dispenser is therefore not necessary for dispensers of the type described at the beginning.
  • the dispenser can be actuated with very little effort, for example by finger pressure.
  • dispensers of the type mentioned at the outset and in particular for use as packaging for pasty products consumed in large quantities, it is of particular importance to be able to mass-produce containers of the type set out at the beginning in a cost-effective manner.
  • a dispenser for pasty products which has a container, one end of which is provided with an opening, which is sealed by a piston and the other end of which is provided with a head piece.
  • the head piece forms a pump chamber which is variable in volume due to external loading, which is separated from the inside of the container by a first check valve which can only be opened in the direction of the pump chamber and, in relation to an outlet opening, only by a second check valve which can be opened in the direction of this opening.
  • the dispensing process is initiated by moving the head piece towards the container. This displacement process reduces the volume of the pump chamber, with the result that the medium in the pump chamber is led out of the dispensing opening through the second check valve.
  • the first check valve is closed during this process.
  • the second check valve is arranged in the essentially cylindrical dispensing opening and is designed in the form of a simple flap which is mounted in a hinge-like manner in the dispensing opening.
  • the first check valve is arranged on the head piece which is movable relative to the container. At its end facing the head piece, the container has a partition, which is provided with a recess.
  • This recess serves as the valve set of the first check valve.
  • the dimensioning of the first check valve has a valve body which is adapted to the recess of the container and which is connected to the head piece by means of flexible connecting webs.
  • the connecting webs are dimensioned such that the valve body can be held in a suitable position in relation to the recess in the container.
  • the connecting webs allow a free relative movement between the head piece and the container and a free relative movement of the valve body of the first check valve to the head piece. Under certain operating conditions and when using certain media to be dispensed, however, it can happen that the valve body of the first check valve is prevented from a suitable movement towards the recess of the container, so that the first check valve cannot be closed.
  • the connecting webs must enable the valve body to move over a relatively large distance during the dispensing process, which means that they must be correspondingly long and / or subjected to strong bending stresses. With prolonged use of the dispenser, this can lead to fatigue which can prevent the first check valve from functioning.
  • the US patent 33 61 305 shows a dispenser for flowable media, which has a volume-variable pump chamber in its upper end region, which can be connected to the environment via an outlet opening.
  • a check valve is arranged in this discharge opening and can be opened by pressure in the pump chamber.
  • a partition between the pump chamber and the inside of the container of the dispenser is provided with through openings which can be closed by means of flap check valves.
  • the check valves are designed in the form of plate valves, which only fulfill their sealing effect when they lie flat on the respective valve seat area. This configuration does not ensure that the dispenser functions satisfactorily in the case of media of higher viscosity.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a dispenser of the type described above, which is constructed simply and robustly from a few parts, is inexpensive and economical to mass produce and can be assembled efficiently, and which is precise and trouble-free in its function.
  • the first check valve has a conical element tapering towards the pump chamber as a valve seat, which is connected to the support base via support bridges and around which a number of through openings are arranged between the support bridges, and further as a closing part Perforated disc made of flexible material, which is arranged coaxially to the conical element and is held at its radially outer region on the support base and in the closed position with its inner edge lies sealingly against the outer surface of the conical element and then covers the through openings and that the closing part of the second check valve is one Is formed concentrically to the perforated disc on the surface facing the pumping chamber, at approximately the same radial distances from the inner edge and outer edge of the circular disc area, which in the closed position at the lower edge of a section of the ring ring the wall, which is arranged coaxially to the perforated disk, lies sealingly and thereby closes the connecting path running around the lower edge of the ring wall from the pump chamber to the discharge channel.
  • the dispenser according to the invention has significant advantages over the prior art.
  • the first check valve consists of two simply shaped parts that can be produced in a rational manner.
  • One part is the conical valve seat connected to the support base with the passage openings arranged around the valve seat.
  • This part of the first check valve can, for example, be inexpensively manufactured in large quantities from plastic by injection molding.
  • the design of the closing part of the first check valve as a perforated disc made of elastic material also enables economical mass production. Injection molding processes in which elastomers are processed are also suitable here, for example. With a corresponding design of the perforated disk, it is also possible to carry out mass production by punching. As a result of the simple design, in particular the perforated disk, the tool costs for the production tools can be kept very low.
  • the other components of this dispenser in particular the head piece and the container, can also be kept in very simple shapes with few undercuts, which is again the use of very simple manufacturing tools, for example injection molding tools, and thus one enables economical production.
  • the interaction of a conical valve seat with an elastic perforated disc as the closing body results in a reliable seal in the closed position.
  • the risk of jamming of moving parts is excluded in the embodiment according to the invention. This also ensures reliable function.
  • the dispenser according to the invention is advantageously designed such that the closing part of the second check valve is formed in one piece with the perforated disk of the first check valve.
  • the dispenser according to the invention is constructed from particularly few parts and, accordingly, particularly economical manufacture and particularly simple assembly.
  • the particularly simple shape of a simple flat perforated disc results, with the consequent advantages for manufacture and assembly.
  • the inner region of the perforated disk bulges upward when there is a negative pressure in the pump chamber, ie when the first check valve is open, and thus releases an annular slot between the inner edge of the perforated disk and the lateral surface of the conical valve seat.
  • the inner edge of the perforated disc comes into contact with the outer surface of the conical valve seat.
  • the radially central area of the perforated disk is arched downwards under a higher pressure acting from above, the outer edge of the perforated disk being supported on the support base and the inner edge of the perforated disk on the lateral surface of the conical valve seat. Due to the downward curvature of the central region of the perforated disc, an annular slot is created between it as the closing part of the second Check valve acting annular surface area and the lower edge of the annular wall forming part of the pump chamber wall. Through this ring slot, the pasty material located in the pumping chamber can flow into an outwardly adjoining space which is connected to the discharge channel, so that the material exits through the mouth of the discharge channel.
  • a particularly favorable embodiment of the dispenser according to the invention is given in that the closing part of the second check valve is designed as a conically widening, flexible ring wall which is arranged concentrically with the perforated disk and is integrally connected to it at its narrower end, and in the closed position with its further one End at the free edge of a section of the pumping chamber wall, ending at a distance from the support base and surrounding the circumference of the pipe seal and thereby the ring slot forming the connecting path between the pumping chamber and the discharge channel between the free edge of the pipe socket; and seals the perforated disc.
  • the pasty mass from the inside of the container is first pressed into the pumping chamber by an annular slot released around the circumference of the conical valve seat by the elastic upward bending of the inner region of the perforated disk which is released under the effect of the negative pressure. If the volume in the pumping chamber is then reduced again by external action, the higher pressure thus formed closes the first check valve, in which the inner region of the circular ring is pressed down again to bear against the conical valve seat.
  • the conical ring wall of the closing part of the second check valve is elastically bent outwards uniformly along its entire circumference, as a result of which an annular slot is created between the lower edge of the pipe socket and the conical ring wall, through which the mass flows into one space connected to the delivery channel and from there through the dispensing opening to the outside.
  • the required bending of the conical ring wall in order to obtain a sufficiently large passage area for the mass to be dispensed is very small. This results in very short distances between the open position and the closed position of the closing parts and, accordingly, little deformation. This has a particularly favorable effect on the service life and the reliability of the dispenser according to the invention.
  • a further advantageous embodiment of the dispenser described above is given in that the part of the perforated disk located radially inside the conical ring wall gradually decreases in wall thickness up to the inner edge. This results in a particular flexibility of the inner wall area of the perforated disk and thus a particularly favorable nestling of the inner edge to the conical valve seat in the closed position of the first check valve and a reliable sufficient bulging of the inner area of the perforated disk in the open position of the first check valve in the direction of the pumping chamber.
  • the dispenser according to the invention can also be designed in such a way that, together with a first check valve designed according to the invention with a conical valve seat and perforated disc, a second check valve arranged on the connecting path between the pump chamber and the discharge channel, which is designed as a separate component, is used.
  • the second check valve can have, for example, a closing part which is designed as an insert which can be inserted into the discharge channel and has an elastically articulated closing flap which covers the connecting path in the closed position.
  • a particularly simple structure of the dispenser according to the invention is achieved in that the support base is integrally connected to the container, and the outer region of the perforated disc is clamped between the support base and a circumferential projection of the head piece attached to the container.
  • the head piece can be connected to the container by means of a snap connection, for example, or it can also be connected to the container by means of a screw connection, for example.
  • the support base forms part of the head piece and the perforated disc is held in the head piece.
  • the container can, for example, be designed to be completely open at the top.
  • Such containers can be produced in a particularly simple manner as interchangeable containers and can also be sold filled without a head piece. After the filling, the upper opening of the container can be closed, for example, by sealing a thin film which is pulled off before the container is connected to the head piece.
  • a particularly simple construction of the dispenser according to the invention is given in that the pump chamber is closed in its upper region by a dome-like, elastically deformable cap which is curved upwards.
  • One of the cap can be mass-produced, for example in an injection molding process from elastomeric material, and in a simple manner, for example be attached to the head piece by means of a snap connection.
  • deforming the elastic cap for example by finger pressure from above, large volume changes in the pumping chamber and correspondingly large delivery quantities can be achieved.
  • a first embodiment of the dispenser is shown in longitudinal section.
  • the head piece 1 of this dispenser consists of a component 2 made of plastic by injection molding, which has an output channel 3 and a cap 4, which consists of resilient plastic and is connected to the component 2 by a snap connection.
  • the component 2 is connected at its lower end via a snap connection to the upper end of a container 5.
  • the container is also made of plastic by injection molding and has a cylindrical design.
  • the lower end of the container 5 is open.
  • a piston 6 is inserted into the container, which rests on the inner wall of the container in a sealing manner around the inner circumference with a sliding fit.
  • the piston 6 is also injection molded from plastic.
  • a pump chamber 7 is delimited to the sides and upwards by walls of the component 2 and by the cap 4.
  • a transverse wall is integrally formed, which forms the support base 8.
  • a conical element 9 tapering towards the pump chamber 7 is arranged in the support base 8 coaxially to the central axis of the container as a valve seat for a first check valve and is connected to the support base 8 via support bridges 10.
  • a perforated disk made of a highly flexible plastic and designed as an annular disk 11 is arranged coaxially with the element 9.
  • the circular disc 11 lies on its outer area with its lower surface on the entire circumference on the support base 8.
  • a circumferential projection 12 projecting downwards towards the outer region of the annular disk 11 is provided, which after fastening the component 2 to the container 5 is pressed onto the outer region of the annular disk from above and thus in its position clamped.
  • the circular disc is drawn in the closed position of the first check valve.
  • the inner edge of the circular disc lies sealingly against the conical outer surface of the element 9. In the radially inner area of the circular disc, its wall thickness gradually decreases towards the inner edge.
  • annular wall in the form of a downwardly projecting pipe socket 13 is provided in the component 2 of the head piece 1.
  • This pipe socket 13 forms a section of the wall of the pump chamber 7.
  • the lower edge of the pipe socket 13 ends at a distance above the support base 8.
  • a second check valve is provided to close the ring opening 14 between the pump chamber 7 and the discharge channel 3.
  • the closing part of the second check valve is designed as a conically widening flexible elastic ring wall 16, which is arranged concentrically to the annular disk 11 and which is connected in one piece to the annular disk 11 at its lower, narrower end. In the closed position of the second non-return valve, the inner surface of the annular wall 16 lies sealingly against the free edge of the pipe socket 13 and thereby closes the annular opening 14.
  • the increased internal pressure causes the conical ring wall 16 to bulge outwards, so that an annular opening is formed between it and the free earth of the pipe socket 13. If at the beginning of the process there was already pasty material in the pump chamber, this is pressed under the effect of the increased pressure through the annular opening into the space 15 and from there into the discharge channel 3 and passes through the mouth of the discharge channel as to the outside. As soon as the force acting on the cap 4 is terminated, it returns elastically to its original shape and the volume of the pump chamber increases again. The resulting negative pressure causes the ring wall 16 to spring back so that it comes to rest against the lower edge of the pipe socket 13 and thus closes the pump chamber again from the discharge channel.
  • the negative pressure causes the inner area of the annular disc 11 to bulge upward, so that the inner edge thereof lifts off the conical outer surface of the element 9 and releases an annular slot.
  • the piston 6 is pushed upwards.
  • pasty material is conveyed through the open ring slot into the pump chamber 7.
  • the upwardly curved inner region of the annular disc 11 resiliently goes down again, so that the inner edge of the annular disc comes to rest on the lateral surface of the element 9 and the first check valve closes. The previously described donation process can then begin again.
  • Fig. 2 the upper area of a second embodiment of the dispenser is shown in axial section.
