Definitions
- the invention relates to a flat element for airborne sound absorption, consisting of a flexible, open-cell foam layer with an air-impermeable cover layer made of a film.
- GB-A-1 579 897 Also known from GB-A-1 579 897 is a laminated, multilayer sound absorber, in which an air-impermeable film is connected to the actual absorber material as protection against contamination via a perforated or highly air-permeable spacer layer.
- This elastic spacer layer has the task, on the one hand, of providing the necessary mechanical strength to the film which is untensioned due to the avoidance of reflection and, on the other hand, of allowing the sound waves to continue unimpeded into the absorber material, where they are then converted into heat.
- the absorption essentially depends on the position and width of the frequency band.
- the coordination between film and foam mass, i.e. their mutual assignment, attachment and mass ratio are often decisive. It is also essential that no additional fasteners are used in the form of foreign substances that would negatively affect the damping.
- the invention has for its object to provide an element for airborne noise reduction, which has a higher efficiency compared to the known arrangements and which can be easily adapted in a wide range in terms of frequency and bandwidth.
- the foam layer has at least on one side a profiled surface with wave-shaped, mutually offset bumps, on the profile tips of the membrane-like stretched plastic film with a thickness of less than 50 microns is selectively attached.
- the corresponding hump-like profiling of the foam and the selective attachment of the film ensures that the film can practically vibrate like a freely stretched membrane.
- the air cushion / plastic film resonance system also contributes to particularly good damping.
- Such a structure dampens in particular low to medium frequencies.
- the damping is essentially dependent on the film thickness in the sense that when the film becomes thicker, the lower frequencies are damped. In principle, attenuation to lower frequencies is possible by reinforcing the film and / or foam.
- Another possible variation of the damping consists in changing the shape or the depth of the profile. It has been found to be particularly advantageous that the film and foam are connected directly to one another.
- the foam layer 1 has a profiled surface with mutually offset rows of bumps 2 and 3.
- a polyurethane foam with a bulk density of 16 to about 80 kg / m 3 can expediently be used as the material.
- a thin plastic film 4 is then laminated onto the bump-like profile tips in such a way that the plastic film 4 is only connected to the foam at the profile tips 5 and 6.
- the connection is expediently made by flame lamination, so that no additional material, such as adhesive, hinders the damping.
- the film is expediently thinner than 50 microns and can consist of polyurethane, polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride.
- the film 4 is connected to the foam only at relatively small points 5 and 6 which are far apart in relation to the fastening surface. This results in a large effective area of exposed film areas, which can vibrate freely like a membrane and thereby extract energy from the impinging sound waves, so that optimal damping is achieved.
- the main areas of application for such flat elements are sound-absorbing linings of machine housings or motor enclosures or corresponding cabins.

Description
Dabei zeigen:
- Fig. 1 einen Längsschnitt durch ein Luftschall-Absorptionselement und
