Definitions

  • the invention relates to a stack of edge protection bodies formed by tab-like nesting, according to the preamble of the claim.
  • the edge protectors are designed as pyrannid-shaped corner protectors. All three pyramid surfaces have self-adhesive sections. All three pyramid surfaces also have triangular ribs on the outside, which generate the reduced adhesive force. This is aimed at in order to disassemble the stack into individually used edge protection bodies.
  • the overall profiling resulting in particular from the ribs and their triangular shape requires an extraordinarily complex design. Nevertheless, handling is difficult because it is difficult to remove a corner protector from the adhesive connection to the stack, especially if you want to do this without tools, i.e. without having to use a knife or the like in the gap between pyramid surfaces, created by the ribs, drives in.
  • Such solutions are therefore not suitable for large-scale use with packages, for example merely as protection when strapping packages. A strapping of a package to cross the ribs would immediately cause a first cut into the edge protection body.
  • predetermined edge protection bodies in the form of pure angle strips are known for strapping purposes (US Pat. No. 3,073,439).
  • Either the angled legs have window-shaped openings so that they can then be fixed on the package by means of a self-adhesive strip stuck on from the outside, or the inner surfaces of both angled legs are themselves equipped with a self-adhesive layer that is exposed after a protective layer has been removed.
  • the related solutions cannot be combined to form a stack formed by tab-like nesting. This is particularly so because the angular apex is flanked by thick, beaded ribs.
  • the object of the invention is to design edge protection bodies of the type to be combined into a stack in accordance with the generic term in such a way that, with a simplified design, despite the smaller stackable overall shape, an easy separation and thus convenient handling is possible.
  • the main advantage of this solution is that the stacking of purely angular edge protectors in the manner according to the invention results in a smaller stacked spatial shape in that the individual angle strips lie flat on one another without space (by spacing ribs or the like). Nevertheless, due to the angular shape and the self-adhesive connection on the inner surfaces of only one angled leg, easy loosening is possible, e.g. by spreading out the other angled leg that is not bound in a surface connection.
  • the stack St illustrated in FIG. 1 consists of a multiplicity of edge protection strips 1 nested in a tab-like manner. These are angular in cross-section, i. H. rectangular shaped. Both angle legs 2, 3 of the edge protection strip have the same length.
  • the edge protection strip 1 can consist of cardboard, paper, plastic or the like. Composite material is also conceivable. While the inner corner is precisely square, the outer corner has a transverse curvature R, so that the strapping means, for example wire, cord, plastic tape or the like, is kink-free, ie. H. appropriately arched.
  • Self-adhesive, long rectangular sections 4 are formed on the inner surface F 1 of an angle leg 2. It is an intermittent or possibly continuously applied self-adhesive layer 5. This occurs when the edge protection strips are attached to the right-angled corners 6 of a package 7 with the package wall 8 in firm adhesive connection. In this way, it is avoided that the strips 1 are displaced when a strapping means 10 is guided around or fall off in the case of a vertical assignment before the strapping means brings about the final fixing.
  • the self-adhesive portion 4 occurs against the adhesive-repellent outer surface F 2 of the edge protection strip 1 underneath 1 is not hindered by each other.
  • the adhesive-repellent part of the outer surface F 2 is provided in the cover area to the self-adhesive sub-areas 4. Due to the high effectiveness of corresponding self-adhesives available on the market, relatively small partial areas 4 are sufficient. These partial areas are expediently realized in the central area of the inner surface F 1 and also with a uniform spacing between them. Reference is made to FIG. 3, where the position of the individual self-adhesive partial areas emerges from the perspective bottom view of the upper edge protection strip. As can be seen, they also have a lateral distance from the inside corner and a lateral distance from the edge of the angle leg edge 2 '. The possibility that the operator touches these self-adhesive partial areas and may be impaired by dirty hands is therefore low.
  • the adhesive-repellent design of the outer surface F 2 of the angle leg 2 is realized by a continuous impregnation strip 11. This can be a strip assignment with a corresponding adhesive-repellent design, or else a substance (silicone) with such properties.
  • the self-adhesive portion 4 is provided on the inner surface F 1 of the same angle leg, the outer surface of which has the adhesive-repellent design, can only be turned over by the next edge protection strip 1, by 180 °, so that one end with the other end of the other Bar closes, a double and even multi-layer edge protection strip can be put together.
  • the self-adhesive subareas 4 do not find an adhesive-neutralizing coating in the correspondingly turned assignment; they therefore come into firm adhesive connection with the corresponding surface of the edge protection strip 1 underneath. This situation is shown in FIG. 5.
  • the self-adhesive subarea 4 which is not covered by the back of an adjacent edge protection strip is nevertheless protected in the pointed roof-shaped interior 12 of the stack St.
  • the stack support surface is indicated as a dash-dotted, horizontal line.
