Definitions

  • the invention relates to a joint cover laterally adjacent to the road surface for expansion joints in traffic routes, in particular bridges, with an elastomeric mat, which is supported on the joint-bridging, stiff plates lined up in the longitudinal direction of the joint with mutual spacings, each of which is only within a narrow length section with the mat are firmly connected.
  • Such a known joint cover (Belgian patent specification 695015) has a mat which is screwed at its longitudinal edges to metal sheets present in the joint edges; a further screw connection on the underside of its central longitudinal axis is used to fasten the plates. Corresponding nuts are molded into the mat for these screw connections; otherwise, the bottom of the mat does not rest on a base, so it is pushed through under the influence of traffic loads and is therefore subject to rapid wear.
  • Another known joint cover (US Pat. No. 4,279,533) consists of an elastomeric mat which has a cutout on its underside in which a metal plate bridging the joint is received.
  • the metal plate lies on a polyurethane layer that covers the recessed joint edges.
  • a polyethylene film is inserted between the metal plate and the polyurethane layer mentioned, which is to ensure the sliding of the metal plate.
  • the invention has for its object to form a joint cover of the type mentioned simpler and more permanent; a high mutual mobility of the mat compared to the rigid plates should ensure, in particular, a good adaptation to longitudinal displacements of the joint edges.
  • the mat consists of two parallel bands connected by narrow webs, between which the plates are inserted, the upper band lying flat on the plates, the lower band loosely on the joint edges, and the plates by means of Bars are attached to the mat.
  • a particularly simple embodiment for manufacture and assembly provides that the webs engage in lateral recesses in the plates, i. H. the plates are tailored and are only supported laterally in this area by the webs, the webs being clamped between two adjacent plates.
  • a watertight seal of the joint covering is achieved in that the upper band is wider than the lower band and that the longitudinal edges of the upper band are sealingly connected to the joint edges.
  • Thin sliding layers can be provided between the contact surfaces of the strips and the plates, as well as the lower strip and the joint edges, by means of which the mobility of the structural parts of the joint cover is further improved.
  • the width of the lower band advantageously corresponds approximately to the length of the plates, so that the largest possible surface area is achieved.
  • a particularly simple assembly of the joint cover on site results from the further proposal that a cover profile anchored in the concrete of each joint edge is provided, on which the lower band of the mat rests, which has an open hollow profile at the longitudinal edge removed from the joint, into which an edge strip of the upper one Band of the mat engages.
  • Fig. 1 shows a joint cover with a mat 1 made of rubber-elastic material, for. B. made of synthetic rubber, which is slidably supported in its area bridging the gap 2 on plates 3 made of steel or hard elastic plastic.
  • the mat 1 consists of an upper band 4 and a lower band 5, which lies displaceably on cover profiles 8 of the joint edges 11, 12.
  • the lateral longitudinal edges of the upper band 4 are sealingly connected to the joint edge construction; the lateral longitudinal edges of the lower band 5 end freely, with a space 14 adjoining them laterally to compensate for the joint movements.
  • the plates 3 are inserted between the two belts of the mat 4 and are held there by means of narrow vertical webs 9 connecting the two belts 4, 5, essentially longitudinally displaceable and non-rotatable.
  • the cover profiles 8 lie on the concrete body of the joint edges 11, 12 and are anchored therein by means of the anchor parts 10. On their longitudinal edges distant from the joint 2, the cover profiles 8 each form a hollow profile 7, in which an edge strip 6 projecting on the underside of the upper band 4 engages in a sealing manner in the manner of a button connection.
