Definitions

  • the invention relates to a child-safe pharmaceutical packaging, in which each drug is arranged in a special receiving space between two foils, which is formed by welding or sealing the foils, the foils having such strength and / or toughness that they can be attached without tools a straight edge could be torn, yet the drug can be broken through one of the foils.
  • Such a child-safe pharmaceutical packaging is described, for example, in DE-A-25 52 812.
  • To open the packaging it is proposed to use a special tool for this purpose or to form the packaging at the corners like a saw tooth, so that opening with a second packaging is possible which then serves as a tool.
  • the packaging in the meadow that the content is not visible, so that it can no longer act as an incentive, does not lead to the result, and it also has the disadvantage that the labeling effect due to the coloring of the medicinal products is at least partially eliminated.
  • Stable packaging with appropriate closures or the like can generally only be used with larger packages, and the security of such closures is generally lost after opening a package.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a child-safe pharmaceutical packaging in which all the essential advantages of the individual packaging are retained and the drug, "if desired", remains visible, especially from the outside. Sufficient precautions should be taken to ensure that a child is unable to access the medicine itself, but the adult should still be able to open the packaging quickly and without special tools.
  • the packaging which the invention seeks to create should be applicable in the same way for all pharmaceuticals regardless of the particular form of presentation, so that the packaging can be used universally, so that the device with which the packaging is produced can also be used effectively.
  • the invention is based on a child-resistant pharmaceutical packaging of the type described in the introduction. It is proposed that notches are provided on one edge, such a notch being assigned to at least each receiving space and the tear force to be applied using one of the notches being even greater than the force that a child of the age to be protected up to about eight years can usually exert between the fingers gripping the notches.
  • the invention is based on the following consideration.
  • a child-safe pharmaceutical packaging cannot be built on the principle that the child does not recognize how the packaging is opened or, in other words, that the child would not be able to recognize the special features of the safety device due to insufficient intellectual performance. It is generally assumed that packaging should be protected from children up to the age of eight, so that considerations based solely on intelligence are not sufficient.
  • the packaging is made stable, i.e. the films that are used to form the receiving spaces have such a strength or strength or toughness of the material that even an adult is unable to tear open the packaging from the edge or to push the medication out of the receiving spaces, the would have to be pushed through.
  • the invention proposes notches at the edge, but these are in the form that only the adult, but not the child, is able to open the package by means of the notch.
  • the child will not recognize that the tear-open process will only succeed if the notch is grasped on both sides and even if this is recognized, the process cannot be understood.
  • the notches together form a serrated edge.
  • the notch can, for example, be angled and be formed by two edge parts which are oriented approximately at right angles.
  • the notch can also be formed by a short incision and it is also possible in a variant of the invention to provide the incision in the inner intersection of angularly aligned edge parts.
  • the tear-open aid essentially consists of two elements, first the angled incision and the other the short, straight incision.
  • the packaging has such notches only on one edge.
  • the other edges can be straight, which makes it easier to manufacture on the packaging machines.
  • a strip 13 of pharmaceutical packaging is shown, which consists of three interconnected rows 14, 15 and 16, which leave a manufacturing machine in the direction of arrow 17, for example.
  • the sections 18 and 19 divide the individual rows in a manner known per se, and the sections 20 and 21 are also straight in a conventional manner.
  • the cross sections 22 in the design according to the invention provide the packaging with an opening aid and would otherwise not be able to be opened due to the corresponding thickness of the foils at an edge formed by the cuts 18-21 or at the outer edge 23.
  • the now secure closure is essentially due to the quality of the two films 1 and 2 or their thickness and also that the films 1 and 2 are sealed or welded together along the surface 24. As a result, the receiving spaces 8 with the medicaments 25 are not accessible.
  • the cut 22 is made zigzag and results in a plurality of notches 4 in the packaging, which are adjacent to this cut.
  • the notches 4 are each delimited by the straight edge parts 9 and 10.
  • Fig. 3 shows an edge 7 of another design, in which the notches 5 are formed by arcuate sections 26.
  • the packaging shown cannot be opened from the straight edge 3.
  • the notches 6 consist of small incisions in the edge, the incisions only penetrating briefly into the material without forming a V-shaped notch.
  • incisions 11 are made at the intersection 12 of the straight edge parts 9 and 10, which incisions, for example, can be the same as the incisions 6.
  • the shape of the incisions shown is only to be understood, for example, and in particular there are extensive design options for the edge portions between the respective incisions or notches.
  • a special incision or notch can be provided for each of the receiving spaces 8, which is assigned only to this receiving space. But it is also possible to use part of the ver pack or all edges with such notches or incisions so that the user uses the notch that is closest to the respective recording space.
  • films 1 and 2 will be suitable plastic films, as are already known for packaging medicaments which can generally be opened by pushing them through.
  • the invention is not limited to the use of plastic films.
  • One of the two foils 1 and 2 can also be aluminum foils or laminated aluminum foils.
  • the use of plastic films that are not translucent is also possible, as is the use of paper films, e.g. for one of the two slides.
  • the edge 7 is provided with the notches in the interior of the packaging and e.g. formed only by perforation or partial punching. It is easily possible to complete the edge formation by kinking if this is provided and then to use the notches in the manner described above.
  • the lower film 2 consists of a composite film made of polyamide with 80 and high-pressure polyethylene with 10011 thickness, while the upper film 1 is also a composite film with 20 p polyamide and 40 ⁇ high-pressure polyethylene.
